@LaFinaYoungGun well the national guard stays at home while the reserve risks thier live trying to save a foriegn country so the guard is sort of stay home soldiers.
@LaFinaYoungGun the guard is usually stationed around the country to guard. the reserve you can be on a base but you don't have to be and you are reserve. so the military can just say, your getting deployed. pretty self explanitory
because you been 2 all the middle eastern countries the army operates...the only people you convince of your ignorance are people like you. So drive on... the more you speak the more ignorant you sound.
I was in the army reserve when I joined fresh out of high school. They were a good bunch of people. Some could be a pain just because those two days a month were the only time they outranked anybody, HAHAHA!!! I can still remember the ones that never earned a college degree who loved to say things like. "So and so is a college kid, he doesn't know anything!" The "college kid" knows that a college degree is necessary in order to get a good job!
One weekend a month is a lie! lol I have been in the Army Reserves for 8 months. 5 of that has been training. I am going to Afghanistan in a little over a month...
Good luck in Afghanistan. I 'm sure you will be glad you had the 8 months of training.

@kayleigh7908 uhm...you must be in some really shitty unit, i've only done 2 day months since i got outta training, with no intention of leaving any time soon...maybe you should file a 638 (or 368 forgot which form) and start RST'ing in other units if yours is sooooo bad...you people need to be more informed before you critisize your employers and my army.
@kayleigh7908 dude bct dont count as part of the one weekend a month thing and any type of armed forces has a chance to go over seas to the war. whats your MOS?
@adge505 The Reserve is under order by the Federal govt. If you chose to go with the National Guard, you will serve under the state govt. Such as if there is ever a disaster to occur in your state, the NG will be called and activated, where as the Army Reserve will not.
ok ok cool, yea i am currently enlisted for the army national guard. I was just wondering what the reserve was all about. thanks for the info by the way.
@unconcealed I'm was thinking of doing the same thing, I'm going to finish first to better my chances at the 46R Public Affairs Broadcast Specialist MOS though. Also might do reserve as opposed to Active Duty though, so I can get a civilian job as well.
im in the reserves and i must say...yes it helps you get a job related to your MOS, but drill weekends are long and boring as fuck. if ur goin army, go active.
Yeah, but not every soldier is an infantryman, and non 11 series soldiers are trained in very basic infantry tactics; depending on mos, they might not train on these things again (post basic training) for the rest of their career. Example: Army Bandsmen or chaplains assistants, though having been trained in the most rudimentary skills, would likely get their asses handed to them by any other nation's infantry. However, your average combat arms/ combat support soldier could hold their own.
I am a 25Q. I work in Army communications. You are right, certian soldiers will rarely train again in infantry skills. Me however I am attached to 2nd Infantry division. So I train with them often.
@fnovax your wrong, every soldier is not trained to be an infantryman. you are trained with basic combat skills, but not to be an infantryman, you need to go to infantry school to be an infantry man. if you havent spent 14-16 weeks on sandhill, dont call yourself an infantryman please.
Ranger's are the men in the Ranger's Battalion's who have a Scroll and a Tab. Doing the Ranger mission's the ones that have done RIP and Ranger School. I'm an actor. I mainly model, but act on the side as well.

Why would I claim to be someone in the background? If anyone's gonna lie there gonna say they're the lead/principal role. I'm an actor/model. My name on here is my real name. You can look me up if you want.

Great commercial. But the music's different, I like it more with the extended violin. Does anyone know where that version can be found?
