@fozzyqwerty In QFG4 there are more classical songs to be heard. I still have QFG4 in my personal list as one of the best atmospheric games... Awesome waterpainted scenery, and Grieg as main soundtrack... Can't go wrong
Been looking for this piece forever! Used to be an old polyphonic ringtone on an OLD phone, and I remember loving it. So glad I remembered it was from Peer Gynt.
So as it seems... This youtube account is the conductor and violonist's of this video?
Then, congratulations sir, very good work. :)
Lately I'm working on my own classical compositions, orchestral. (not on youtube yet) And I love it. Hope to get these into movies etc someday. ^^
Orchestral music is so powerfull, I can never focus my composer mind between cool rock-ish movie music or simple classical power. haha I guess I have to do both..
@LaurenMusicx i'm playing this for a play from the drama club. we're doing the pied piper of hamelin. i'm the pied piper so i must know this piece and others from peer gynt to play them.
I'm sorry, but really IT'S NOT the same. Because it's Music, no Maths. The accent is different! 3/4 is to count 3 times two eighths. And 6/8 is to count 2 times triples (three eighths). So dudemansam4189 is right...
I love this song! My orchestra is preforming it, however, we do the high parts too [no highs for 1st violin for thsi group] that was the one thing that made me a bit dissappointed. I really do love the whole piece and certain parts were a bit dissapointing. But this was good nonetheless.
Lovely music played by human beings. A computer could play it perfectly in tune, but it would sound sterile. I have perfect pitch, but am not bothered if a tune is played slighly out of tune. With so many unfretted unstruments, it must be impossible to get them all in tune.
yeah no string is exactly the same if you tune it to a tuner its 17 cents of and if you do it double stopping with your a string its 3 cents of its really hard to tell which is which but this orchestra was pretty much in tune.
The first time I read the name of this song I was thoroughly confused, because "anitra" means "duck" in Italian. I still get the image of a dancing and quacking duck in my mind when I hear the passage from 0:26 to 0:31.
'anitra' in 'peer gynt' is an arabian princess; her name is not really an arab name. but it's how the writer of the play (who's norwegian, and never been to an arab country) had imagined a female arab name to sound!
I won my day! i am discovering that many famous pieces i heard in my life were in fact Grieg's ones. I am happy to be less ignorant today. Thanks to Richtomes and youtube.
wow...i must say that i was impressed...you see im in 8th grade and we played this song in all-county but it wasn't at the same level....the cellos weren't rocking...but like i 'll always love this piece and the way you were playing it just looked like you were having fun!
Thanks arturoxx. Yes, the sound on YouTube always comes about half a second late. I posted 'Anitra's Dance' before I learned to correct for the delay by advancing the sound half a second before uploading.

Basicly it's exactly the same, it just depends on which one is easier to write down in notes: 3/4 or 6/8.
