I am not surprised that the schools would ban balls from the schoolyards in Toronto. Last year, Toronto Parks and Recreation banned my swim fins in public pools, saying that they were unsafe. At the same time, they also banned swimming on one's back. That too was deemed dangerous. I protested and won back my right to use aquatic equipment in swimming pools and to swim on my back if so desired. The nanny state is a fearful place.
How many people die every year from balls hitting them? How many people die every year from obesity?

Perhaps we should start buy heavily into the wholesale of bubblewrap and begin wrapping up our kids. Pathetic!
