He's right, those are 500lb JDAM's. The explosion is too small for the 2000lb'ers. B-1's don't carry 1000lb guided bombs (currently), unless the count the smart CBU's...which of course wouldn't have one large explosion.

You could be right about the size of the ordanance, but i definately know it was a b1. we dropped loads on that area and remember needing a b1-b due to the amount of ordanace required. As far as it being 1000lbers you are probably right. we dropped a whole range of stuff on that area, plenty shells from AC-130s, rocket runs by f15's, A10s straifing our hill and uk harriers doing stupidly low runs at below 100ft. Some bombs were airburst some were deep penetration. Thats why some seem smaller.

@CB775NT it is a regualr thing.....i have seen a Harrier flying at 60ft before. My dad was a Harrier Sootie in the RAF before the governemnt binned them all (he's a RAF helicopter engineer now). I used to bike up to the Squadron Hanger on the airfield after school and hang out with them all in the crew room and hanger. In the summer once they had all taken off i'd sit with all the Sooties and Leckies in deck-chairs and watch them fly. i love my RAF life! been with the RAF since birth! 18 now!
