  • great tutorial by the way, i didnt have the 'midi learn' option on my VSTs though think thats where people are saying its not working for them ^^

  • 1ST COMMENT: just thought id post a comment about an alternate way as some people have said this is not working on other 3rd party vst's.

basically click on the nob, dial, slider etc that you want to change in the vst plugin your using, when you click look at the top left of FL (the little information box that tells you what your mouse is currently hovering over)

  • 2ND COMMENT: when you find out the name of the controller you want to change remember the name, then follow the instructions to where he starts talking about MIDI CC and look for the same value name there. its all in alphabetical order so its easy to search for, and works for every 3rd paty plugin. hope this helps!

  • Great tutorial! thanks for the info. Little silly putting the peak controller LFO on massive though? haha. Why not just use massive's built in LFOS?

  • This does work on plugins other than massive thank you very much!!!!

  • I did everything you said but for the rate nob, and it doesn't work ):

  • @MegaSexytimes Try this mate;

"Click the arrow in the top left corner of the vst and then click "browse all parameters". When you turn a knob or change a value it will be highlighted in the browser on the left hand side of your screen. From there you can right click > create automation clip."

  • @WhatTehFux Cheers but I did something similar, just chose one of the 'rate's after clicking browse parameters

  • help a lot

  • thank............you.......man.....!!

  • /watch?v=gEi0a1wzLzw so much easyer!

  • how can i automate multiple knobs in massive?

  • @MrSigi1990 Click the arrow in the top left corner of the vst and then click "browse all parameters". When you turn a knob or change a value it will be highlighted in the browser on the left hand side of your screen. From there you can right click > create automation clip. This will work for as many knobs as you like :)

  • it would be much easyer to get a patcher and link it throught midi output and then add controls internally (patcher) then you can automate it :P

  • it isnt working even for Sylenth 1 ! :/

  • @alldini

yes it's working, the first vst i tried to do that was sylenth, and its working! hahaha >)))))))

  • I Cannot click "midi leane" !! There is nothing to show in my right click on any knob of my SAMPLETANK. Help me!!

  • This tutorial was exactly what I was looking for! It has been so frustrating until I watched. Thank you so much!!

  • Thank you!

  • This helped me soooooo much. Thank-you!

  • Awww ... it doesn't work with Nexus or Z3ta :(

  • @TheDJChaxxx Click the little arrow in the top left corner of the vst in fl studio, click "browse all parameters", then change the value of something by turning a knob or whatever. The parameter will be highlighted in the browser to the left of your screen and from there you can rightclick > create automation clip :)

  • Ohh why thank you ^^

  • You have no idea how long i have been trying to do this. You are a king among men sir!

  • You have no idea how long i have been trying to do this. You are a king among men sir

  • You could also just tweak your knob, then go to Browse Parameters, and rightclick the selected parameter, and Create Automation Clip. :) But I like the idea behind the dashboard, didnt know that! :)

  • BRO THIS IS PERFECT...now i can finally modulate the dubstep baselines without having to make 30 patterns

  • i got a question for you. When you edit your ''preset'' in Massive, while in FL, why does it, like, stutter? by that i mean, it just loops on, and you cant stop it till you get out to the track viewer or so...is it just not enough CPU or just a random glitch?

  • im using the demo and this wont work for me is it because it is on the demo version ?

  • @PLAYGUYofficial I don't know, sorry.

  • @PLAYGUYofficial Get Fl studio 10 for free then torrent it i can try to give it to you if you want

  • I use this for massive but you can't do it on albino 3 :( can someone have another way to automate stuff but in albino

  • Do you know how to use slide notes with external vst's to?

  • @brandon11122 I don't think you can. Try overlapping the notes in the piano roll.

  • @WhatTehFux The only electronic sound I have that slides is the 3osc, and the 3osc sounds so cheap T_T

  • @brandon11122 just look up "how to slur notes" there are several tutorials on how to do it

  • @brandon11122 You do that from the Sampler - Go to Misc and you will see the Polyphony options.

  • @JeffsterProductions Depends on the VST. Some VSTs have options inside of them that allow for note sliding. Massive, for example.

  • @WhatTehFux Thats true - I was merely presenting the "general" way, in case there is no such option. :) Good video by the way, very in depth! :)

  • @brandon11122 You can't. You'll have to slide 'em using the option within the external VST plugin to switch the notes to "Monophonic"

  • @brandon11122 btw....the REAL LPC KEYSWITCHES (IF YOU HAVE THE REAL LPC PLUGIN) ARE A JOKE!!!!!! #JustWantedToThrowThatOutThere!

  • @brandon11122 There are a type of notes that slide in flstudio

  • Another tip, if you select "Browse All Parameters" and then move the control in the VST, it will automatically highlight the control in the sidebar and you can drag it to the playlist as an automation clip.

  • Absolutely incredible tutorial. Ive been trying to figure this out for months! Thanks so much!

  • thank you very much bro !!

  • Does this work for VST Effects to?

  • this is really useful, thanks man !

  • ahhhhhh school

  • Thanks so much, this video helped me out more then almost any other video once I downloaded massive! Thumbs up for the great tutorial.

  • great, nice one man. you're a boss. been looking how to do this for aages!!

  • @ReflexiveBeef If there's anything else you'd like to know feel free to drop me a message and I'll try my best to make a video about it.

  • with predator theres no remote control option with midi cc

  • 2:07 :DD

ofc thers another ways to do this

  • I've been using FL for years, got my first external VST yesterday. My main worry was about not being able to create automation clips at will. Your video was so helpful and to the point! cheers!

  • Thanks for the tut mate ;) really needed this

  • Thanks! Normally I just use the 'last tweaked' function to automate other VST's, but that doesn't seem to be working with Massive, so I've been having lots of trouble with it. This method works great though. :)

  • It does not work for slayer 2. there is no "midi learn" when right click on wheel

  • Thanks for this! From the very first minute i learned some stuff from the very first minute!

  • @WhatTehFux is there a way to link more than 1 wheel on the same plugin? i cant seem to link more than 1..

  • @APxKP I don't have problems using more than one parameter with this method, however if you click the drop down arrow in the top left corner of the VST and click "browse all parameters" and then click on the wheel you want to modulate, it will select it in the fruity browser and from there you can right click > automation clip.

  • damn nice tutorial. saved me a shit load time.

  • cheras man, you taught me a lot nice vid keep up the good work

  • Is there anyway that you know of to automate multiple parameters in a single massive through this process

  • @Regirn Click the arrow in the top left corner of the massive VST plugin, click "browse parameters". The last modified controller within massive will be highlighted by FL, and if you right click it you can automate it. Hope this helps! :)

  • DUDE thanks man this saved me a load of time props for the vid :D

  • 2:08 :D

    anyway nice tut

  • Pro tip:

Tweak any parameter in a VST.

    Tools >Last Tweaked.

    Voila.

  • @Hex72 you cant use the last tweaked method using native plugins such as massive.

  • @KidnapandRansom It's nice to see another producer. Shame he's 10 years old and can't have a civil conversation.

  • Comment removed

  • @KidnapandRansom Being pompous will get you nowhere.

  • this works, but is there a way to modulate LFO rate?

  • @arfuswrinkledinks LFO rate of what? If you want to modulate the LFO of a controller inside of massive, this method will work for it.

  • lolz .. theres a better way ;)

  • @kalashnikov9 This is the easiest way to figure out. Please enlighten me.

  • @kalashnikov9 ok then show us;)

  • Cheers mate, works a treat.

  • @bimz1 No problem :)

  • worked out for me

  • I have no idea what you're talking about but I guess that's why you're doing your thing and I'm doing mine.

  • How did you figure that one out? You spend way too much time using fl lol. I kinda wish you'd explain more stuff instead of just saying "do A, do B, do C" though. But that's because I'm shit at fl c:

  • @Darren1337 I thought I explained it pretty well :(

  • @WhatTehFux You did do well. Only the people worth learning the method, learned. it. Thanks for your help! :)

  • @Darren1337 Do you want to play MW1? lolololol
