  • TRUTH!

  • Sup ppl !!! all the Lady Gaga dancers and Justin Bieber dancers or any "artist like them " are hip hop :) ....FUCK THAT !!!

  • Who is this dude talking about? Oh, he must be talking about some industry cats, not the underground. First he disses the west coast then he tells you to go watch a west coast dance documentary. Ego trip.

  • @yungrocafella09

of course he's talking about the industry cats! he loves and respects the underground cos that's where it's being kept real!

  • @yungrocafella09

YO MY MAN, BEFORE YOU POST YOU SHOULD READ THE OLDER POSTS!! IF YOU WOULD HAVE READ I WAS TELLIN THEM TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR OG IN HIP HOP ALSO THAT HELP PUT THIS DANCE ON THE MAP!! LEGENDARY AND THE SOUL BROTHERS ARE MY FAM, SCHEME TEAM ALL THEM! WE KNOW ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND DANCE WORLD FOR THAT IS WHAT WE LIVE IN AROUND THE WORLD!! THERE IS NO EGO TRIP WHEN I SPEAK! LOOK AT WHAT ME AND MY CREW HAVE DONE IN THIS GAME ON A WORLD BASE! JUST LETTIN THEM KNOW! FREESTYLE IS KING!!!

  • @yungrocafella09 - he isn't dissing the west coast; L.A. style is the name of a dance style that, unfortunately, is all over the U.S.; not just cali or the west coast.

  • Hi, do u have links to all the documentary? Im interested to know more. Thank you.

  • we give props when props are due!! ask any young dancer that knows us and they will tell you we support hip hop to the fullest! so remember choreo does not mean you are doing style of dance! and a lot of the choreo today is not hip hop!! it has feeling, a jazz feeling!! lol! so i gave you the events to come and show what you got as hip hop dancers of today! hope to see you guys there! and start learning the history it is out there! keep real hip hop and street dance alive! EF BABY!! ONE

  • WORD.

  • Word up. Bobby where do you teach? I was at MOP TOP this past Nov. Flew down from the west coast for the event. Was totally worth it. Didn't get a chance to meet you though. Am looking to visit NYC as often as I can, planning on dropping by this summer!

  • you can even look on youtube and see some hip hop championships that is so wack!! find the clip with natalie imbroglia! do not know how to spell her name! lol! that clip alone tells you!! lyrical hip hop done by a guy who has never danced a day in his life!! go search out the truth! it exist! and it is funny how people keep wanting to tell us we are wrong! but we were there when this dance was created! we give props to new hip hop!! getting lyte kids!! flexers! many more! that is hip hop!!

  • the guy on tv says we have innovated hip hop! how do you innovate a dance that you cannot even do in the first place!! those choreographers cannot dance hiphop!! period!! i will leave this and you decide!! if you are a hip hop dancer for choreographer. come to the events that have the battles and dancers getting it in! juste debout france march 7,8!! dance alive japan every month!! lol! step ya game up ny july 24th!! there are real battles and events all around the world that have real hip hop

  • It is the dance where the choreo comes from!! Name one dance any of those choreographers have created??? this is what i am talking!! yes there is a big lack of feeling in the dance seen that they are calling hip hop!! it is composed of almost all posing! the jabbers are hip hop! they incorporate alot of elements of the street dance culture! You really have to take a look at youtube and see the mass production of this dance you are calling hiphop today! i watched so you think you can dance

  • Who is the first hip hop choreographer?? Stretch!! people seem to think we are dissing choreo! we are not we have done for yrs! we make a living doing it! we are talking about styles! Just turn any cheerleading competition and you will see the same choreo that you are calling hip hop!! We are defending the dance not the choroe!! there are some great choreographers these days! But it does not mean they can dance hip hop!! Choreography does not determine the style of the dance!!

  • WOW!! I have not been on in a long time!! I think people need to go back and read my earlier post!! We are talking about hip hop here! I am not talking about all dancers in LA if you read it tells you people give props to! It is sad that you would not even know the hip hop heads who really put it down in La! Soul brothers skeem team, divine styler!! That being said Hip Hop is what we are talking about not choreo!! where do you think hip hop choreo came from! New York!!

  • WORD. I wonder where he'd say the jabbawockeez fall in. Just took a workshop from Phi and he was sayinlg all these things, and demonstrated them. It's not about cool moves; it's about the groove, character and feeling. Took the words right out of my mouth. It was funny watching these LAstyle dancers cuz they just didnt get it, couldnt groove or bounce wit it lol.

  • I feel like a lot of good points were made, but when he starts saying things like "There's no real feeling when they dance to the music" when describing LA style, i couldn't see where he's coming from. Look at choreographers like Shaun Evaristo, a big figure in the LA choreo scene who deeply respects the beauty of choreography. Now if you can HONESTLY say that his choreography lacks FEELING, then you gotta be crazy. Just cause it's not aggressive doesn't mean it's not intense in it's own way

  • Shaun Evaristo is good at what he does in my opinion. But to me he isn't doing "Hip Hop" He is more "Street Jazz" or "Urban Pop Dancing" dancing that is really Commercial and Mainstream. Britney Spears / Christina Aguilera etc...

  • Yea, I feel you. It's moving away from the realm of hip-hop, and I agree with Bobby. I just find saying something that someone dedicates their whole life, 'lacking in feeling', a bit rude. I see how Shaun's style is becoming mimicked and commercialized, but hearing him speak about his own dancing, you understand how genuine his choreography and love for dance is. I just wanted to say, apart from the mainstream LA scene, there are still a few people who still stay true to dance, hip-hop or not

  • mucha razonnnn

  • i thinks that LA style is more about choreo and new york stylabout freestyle.. it would probable be better if people who dance LA style stop callin their classes "hip hop" and maybe try to express themself in freestyle and if hip hop dancers accept LA style as a new dance style inspired by hip hop dance, jazz,... i'm maybe wrong but i just wanted to share this with you :-) thanks to bobby mileage, to NY style dancers and to LA style dancers to inspire my dance...

  • very interesting i do not totally agree with it but it's good to compare the different point of view..that's true many LA dancers rarely go outside of their 8 counts but probably not all of them... i can't say that all LA style dancers can't freestyle or "barely move their feet" , just do "posing" or don't feel the music because i haven't seen every one of them and it's the same thing for New york style dancer, i can't say that they can't do a "good" choreo..

  • stupendo!!!

  • Ps: PLEASE!!! Somebody have to send me the videos or a link to buy them because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get these movies here in germanyand if its just one moviewhateverbetter than nothin

Sorry if my English is not so correct xD

    Peace escO

  • Sup, escO!

I'm trying to get my hands on "The Suns Of James Brown" and "Everything Remains Raw" but i can't... but i'll definitely hit you up if i do!

    Peace!

  • okay man thank u bro!

  • hey man did you find the documentaries? I need to get hooked up with that shit!

  • When I think about the happening about hiphop right know I hope to see a change in the futurepeople have to recognize what they are doin and need to understand what the hiphop dance is all aboutif a dancer doesnt have the feeling and respect for that art form then he is just not real!!!

  • And many people here are good real hiphop dancers but they are so focused on powermoves and so on and try to get the WOOWW effect of the audience and forget that hiphop is about havin fun and feel the music just dance from ur heart u know?!

  • hey what up! i am from germany and watched this video so many times because mileage is talkin just the truth..u got my biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig respect manhope I see u in germany some day!!..

maannn the whole commercial la mtv dance 4 fans scene here is so big and strong and I think it is pretty sad that not many people here know the truth and dance because they love the feeling, love hiphop and want to represent the culture!

  • "anyone reppin hip hop for real then it does not apply" I did not see this"disclaimer" in

the Vid. and I got heated and jumped the gun.

My apologies there but I see these post on here like "That's a fact" etc. and I feel I should speak on the behalf of us on the

west that it "does not apply".

  • "Mileage5" " What is Freestyledance to you?

Things change and evolve as we Elders have

on the West. When I started out dancing it was

just to hip-hop but damn man when I opened

myself up to other genres of music my style

changed and changed and shit now I cannot

just call what I do HIP HOP...its Freestyledancing or improv..I do not want to

be in a box of hip hop rules anymore.. F that!!

  • What up!! this is my thing i call myself a dancer period!! cuz i dance to anything!! but also this is what hip hop was about freestyling and improve!! that is why i say hip hop! hip hop allowed you to be outside the box and create!! but all of us are freestyle! if you see my clips i do not only dance to hip hop tracks. and i also dance to house! but we need to keep foundation and all that so people can understand what heads put in to make this dance accessible. and also to gain respect from

  • from all the other styles of dance!! there is always evolution bro!! but even people know about the dinosaurs!! hip hop is about stepping outside the box!! being able to improve and a lot of cats these days really do not how to dance without an 8 count!! i am not just saying this! i travel the globe with this dance sh..t and part of a crew that has also evolved and who holds it down on reppin for real!! i am in no way trying to control the dance! just want people to acknowledge the real!! one

  • thanks for taking the time to respond to people's comments. I think helps bring your point across and living here close to LA as a young dancer (not evolved with the hip-hop choreo world) i have to agree. thanks for the wisdom

    blao

  • Speak for yourself Bob...I'm a L.A. OG 3rd Gen.

and trust me ..my Nig ain't no 123 456 shit

ova this way trust that....you talking about all

those Hollyheads bro. West Coast Finest

    all day....

Man those Hollywooders give us real cats on

    the west a bad wrap....

  • Ok, this is where people need to see what i m saying!! The ? is directed from the point of what is being shown on youtube as hip hop from LA today!! and that is what this is all directed towards!! if you see my earlier post you will see that i give it up to the old school cats who held it down in LA!! but this is the point the people calling themselves hip hop probably do not even know who you guys are!! this is were the problem lies!! anyone reppin hip hop for real then it does not apply

  • Thats a daymm FACT!!!!!!

  • this guy say the truth ! i agree with it !

  • i agree... la style isnt authenic hip hop any more...okey, its streez jazz ...

    but WHO CARES ?

dance what ever you want..what you like..what you feel..

    its something new...diffrent to NY...

if someone say.. that LA dont listen to the music..thats wrong...they just listen it in a diffrent way..

but i think the main thing is creativity....to do not the same what you yesterday did..u know im sayin?

  • ok, this is exactly my point!! the problem is that too many people are saying that this is the new style of hip hop!! when it is not!!! only person that is creative is marty ked, cuz he changed the way choreo is done!! there is no originality in this!! just look on you tube you will see 10000 off routines from different countries of people all dancing the same!! it is like cuz everyone can do it is ok!! anyone can sit and listen to a song and make a routine!! but can you dance to the music??

  • i have no problem with people doing something different as i said many times!! i love contemporary dance and some things about jazz dance!! but when people are saying they are hip hop and are not doing it that is the problem!! what did any of these choreo make up for the dance of hip hop?? in that style! name a step? putting choroe together does not make you a dancer!! you are dancing, but does not mean you can dance on your own at a high level! cuz you need an 8 count!! cannot improvise.

  • people say who cares? i care and anyone who loves street dance styles should feel the same way!! how do we keep the integrity of these dances? how do we gain the respect of the ballet and the jazz world?? we are one school street dance! locking popping b boyin hip hop and house! everyone stand up and start caring about this culture! do you be different but be careful when you put yourself in a category! there are many people who can sit in the studio make routines! n cannot bust in a circle!!
