  • maybe on brainystuff.de ?

  • "And yesterday, I got to pet a koala and feed a kangaroo.... yeah." Like it's no big deal! This man is just so cool.

  • what is wrong with people just walking by and just don´t care about him? I would scream like a 12 year old girl and hug him if he came walking against me

  • how can he sing, play guitar and walk around?! I can't eat while watching tv without putting a forkful off food in my ear...

  • @jonnykid555 haha, skill!

  • Lederhose :D

  • it looked like his strap was coming off again like in the live version of love is all

  • TABS ANYONE!!!!

  • aaaaw

  • The secret to his voice? smoking!!!!!

  • I love both The Tallest Man on Earth and Shoot the Player (as long as it doesn't give people any bad ideas) for doing what they do. These live shows reconnect humanity with music in what used to be mundane; it's beautiful. La Blogotheque inspired and you both promote such a beautiful thing. Thank you!

  • tabs/tuning anyone???

  • I am a huge TTMOE fan but i don't think his lyrics or anybody elses can be put above Bob Dylans. I like TTMOE's style of playing ALOT, maybe more than Dylan, but Dylan was a poet, and his lyrics are some of the best ever written. TTMOE makes the best music that is out today hands down, and i agree that he can be compared to Dylan, but certainly not put above him.

  • @CharlieS9227 I completely respect your opinion, but Thousand Ways is insanely beautifully written.

As a non-native english speaker, I have to listen to his songs hundreds of times before I discover what's behind them...

Guess I should get into bob dylan some more? ;]

  • @CharlieS9227 completely agree

  • I know it's common to compare him to Dylan - but i like him far better...all apologies but I like his voice, style, lyrics far better than Dylan's - I couldn't ever embrace Bob Dylan's music completely - but this - i dunno feels flawless and easy - Dylan had the tension of the Vietnam war and protests as a backdrop so his music really arose from the times - but this feels even more timeless somehow-

  • @StrongHeartLives Ditto.

  • I was amazed too see only 1 dislike!!

  • anyone know where we can find tabs for this?

  • TABS?

  • I saw him play this song about 2 feet from my face in a crowd of about 60 people in an old church turned intimate music venue. Was lucky enough to get a ticket in a city where a thousand could have sold.

  • bloody hell....ive been there sooooo many times, and the tallest man on earth was there, didnt even know ... wow!

  • Does anybody have an idea of which tuning he is using?

    fx:

    Open Dsus4: DADGAD

    Open G: DGDGBD

    Open D: DADF#AD

    ?

  • @ZiGGyMaidEN CFCFCF

  • @ZiGGyMaidEN standard D

  • What kind of guitar is that? Great tune!

  • @HotelLoveMusic looks like a eastman

  • please, does anyone know of any guitar straps that look like this? thin and leather? dumb question but i like it lol.

  • oh how i wish he would come to canada... he is incredible beyond belief, the heart he puts into every song cannot be translated to just words

  • That restaurant he passes at 1.57 does really good pizza...

  • He's playing in Glasgow in like 2 days, and I can't go =(

    So gutted!

  • Can anyone tell me how his guitar is tuned?

  • @dollemate Sounds like it's supposed to be open C, but everything is under that pitch, a bit closer to B. It's in tune with itself, though.

  • You know, this man started an entire adventure for me. I made my way across two provinces to see him play in Montreal, to find out I was stranded, with no cash and a big bottles of beer. Awwwh yeah. I have him some drawings I did during the show with a note asking him to jam with me, but no such luck.. He was probably tired, and security kicked me out.. To this day I don't know whether or not he came back out... But let me tell you. What a frucking incredible show. Real moving.

  • no offense anyone but this guy sucks...he sounds like a B version of Bob Dylan and Bob Dylan is a B artist anyway. Nothing original. Nothing special.

  • HE SMOKES?!?! Hey if it helps his musicianship... smoke away.

  • How fuckin awesome is this small man?

  • HE SANG THIS THE DAY BEFORE IN A CONCERT AND IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT FOR AGES <3 THANKS FOR UPLOADING IT :D

  • Wow! How can one man be blessed with so much talent

  • Wow! How on earth can one man be blessed with this much talent?

  • I'm never heard such honesty and simplistic beauty in a song before. It's just so simply amazing that this is modern and not a man from a hundred years ago. It's like we have a time machine that brings us back to a much simpler time in music. Stunning.....

"We don't have those in Sweden, thats a German thing".....thats priceless haha.

  • 3:34 at least 3 people carrying a guitar.. :)

  • amazing... what real music is

  • I can't believe the people walking by don't give him a double take. If I heard music this good on the street I would at least turn around.

  • tallest man playing with no capo, whoa

  • @MichaelTheOliver My exact thoughts when I saw this, I didn't realize he knew it was possible to play guitar without one.

  • I want a small walking show to myself too :( Im so jealous!

  • We never saw this on an album. That's odd, cause it's pretty old.

I'll bet it's a cover and I've just gone and made myself look silly ;)

The guitar line sounds a lot like over the hills though

  • This is such a La Blogotheque ripoff. That being said, the music is still great!

  • thats great you gave credit to blogotehque, why not just create a new way to introduce the artist and add your own flavor, i mean why keep the same black and white text motif? thats what im sayin

  • @lkjhgfdsa954 Originally we did the same credits design because we thought it would be more of an acknowledgement of the Blogotheque - and we definitely wanted to acknowledge those guys. The look and style of our clips has definitely evolved since then - and we've been talking about changing our credits too.

  • @lkjhgfdsa954 I Can't speak for STP, but why over complicate things by trying some innovative new thing that could totally suck. These, and Blogotheques, vids are simple and rather intimate, and it works wonderfully for both

  • @lkjhgfdsa954 ... because the credit fonts are what really made the whole thing, right?

  • I love Tallest Man on Earth, is there a way i can get this version on my ipod i love this song but cant find his version

  • haha I KNEW he smoked, just hadn't seen a vid of him smoking yet, his voice shows it

  • His guitar is tuned to Cadd4 (CGCFCE). I don't know what the chords he uses are called but they tab out to:

    0x4200

    505400

    200120

    002020

He throws this chord into the chorus: 020001. Just watch the video to see which chords he uses when and get a sense of picking, timing etc. Enjoy.

  • Is that tuned to DADGABB?

  • Is that tuned to DADGABB?

  • lol its funny he smokes cigaretts because cigaretts have been known to make your voice raspy. aleast for me it does.

  • 8 strings??

  • No 6

  • Anyone have the tab for this? would love to play it, shame my music capabilities don't extend to tabbing songs

  • @jamesg200311 I would also like to do that man! It's amazing stuff here

  • This guy is great...but I'm sure he would slap the shit out of anyone who says he's better than Bob Dylan. Even if he is he would never admit it--or feed that kind of compliment.

  • Lederhosen?

We don't have that in Sweden, it's a german thing ;D

  • OMG Gary Glitter walks past at 3:04

  • who?

  • He is a convicted child abuser in the UK

  • Does anyone know how to find tabs for this song? write a reply to me plz

  • i know, right?

  • As we've explained in other comments, we started Shoot the Player with the blessing and encouragement of Vincent and Chryde from the Take Away Shows. They were particularly interested in seeing artists filmed in both Paris and Australia - as Tallest Man is. We credit Blogotheque at the end of every one of our clips.

Hopefully none of this gets in the way of you enjoying the music.

  • @ShootThePlayer Don't mind those that can't appreciate this. Great shoot, incredible songs. I'm very, very impressed.

And, this is a phenomenal version of this song.

  • Thanks - we're really glad you like the clip, He's an amazing musician!

  • @ShootThePlayer you guys kick ass. spreading music, the way it should be

  • don't mind them, this is great....I like seeing these guys play in a place that I have actually been, and recognize.

  • @ShootThePlayer I love Tallest Man on Earth, is there a way i can get this version on my ipod i love this song but cant find his version

  • is he smoking at the beginning? shame!

  • @StarlitHour77 well- his raspy voice comes from someting eh?

  • @StarlitHour77 lol what? did u really say that what are you 12? who cares.

  • This really an amazing video. TTMOE is an incredible artist. I love the people just walking by as if nothing special is happening. If I saw that on street my jaw would drop to the ground and my toes with tingle with the pleausre of complete and utter satisfaction.

  • Hey, would anyone with expereinece on tabbing try to tab this beautiful version of this old song?

This song is a perfect match for a good campfire atmosphere. (Especiellay when performed by Kristian Matsson)

  • awesome man! how come i only just found this guy?

  • oh... I'm a big fan of The Tallest Man on Earth... just talking about the way fonts are used... the way you film... and it's just a question... no hate :)

  • blogotheque... or amazing rip off?

  • @wally1979 Deffinately a rip off, my thoughts exactly...

  • I'll never understand why I hate Bob Dylan but love The Tallest Man on Earth.

  • DITTO! ..so happy to see someone feels the same way - i believe The Tallest Man but i'll probably get a lot of flack for saying the Bob is lost on me :)

  • Personally, I think its a generation thing. But thats just me, since I too have never understood Bob, and loved Tallest

  • Me neither

  • Anyone know what kind of guitar that is?

  • gibson blues king i believe

  • acoustic

  • his voice is pure love

  • They couldn´t make it more raw beautiful than this.

Just a simple shot becoming so perfect<3

  • think i just died

  • anyone know the tuning he's using, I can't figure it out for the life of me...maybe open c?

  • Sounds like Cadd4 (CGCFCE).

  • In other songs I've heard him play, he uses open Gm.

  • He's totally not using open Gm tuning in this song. I've tried. The Cadd4 above is really close. I been able to work out some of the chords in that tuning already.

  • mind sharing?

  • Open G.

  • Damn, I've always wanted to pet a koala. :/

    Great song, as usual.

  • i love this video.... i feel like Im taking a stroll through the square with this magnificent musician

  • its the swedish bob dylan

  • @walletlamp12 he isn't the swedish bob dylan

he is the Kristian Matsson. that is all.

  • thanks :)

  • doesn't get much better than this. beautiful
