ok...so help me out guys im not tryna be a dick. the guitar part around 5:24 is almost IDENTICAL to the beginning of the solo in aesthetics of hate by machine head. so having said that, did robb write all of the guitar parts for this song, or was this song made by another person and robb stole that particular part?
@takinapiss Robb was in this band. To my knowledge he wrote 3 of the songs from this album, this one included. My love of Machine Head is actually what brought me here. :)

The term was coined by the media to easily label the four most commercially succesful thrash bands-which of course are Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax. It has nothing to do with quality, although I think all those bands are high quality, with Megadeth tied with Overkill for my favorite band.

@medouch This is the thing for me though.. to me a great big 4 band is a band that made great albums stood alive well and popular till this day and they still make good albums. Megadeth did that so in my opinion is worthy for the big 4.. Metallica..ehh they wanted to do something different. they changed their musical style..so to me they shouldn't be in the big 4. Why bands like forbidden aren't on my list is because they are dead.. sure they reunited but they arent as good.

Forbidden evil is a grossly underrated monster album, easily top 10, possibly top 5 of all thrash albums. the first 4 songs are among the best songs EVER written!to bad they came out a bit late, and didn´t do too much after this, and not on par with this! HAIL METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, MEGADETH, FORBIDDEN, KREATOR, VIO-LENCE, SODOM, CELTIC FROST etc!!
Dave Mustaine is probably the most talented guitarist in metal I think, anyone who can play those kind of difficult songs and sing at the same time is very talented! It is hard enough to play megadeth songs as it is! Old Metallica is great but, I like megadeth cds a lot more in the more recent years.

As far as I'm concerned, they're ALL big.....That's my era , I was there, I thrashed my head off at gigs and listening to Tommy Vance's Friday rock show. It was a really vibrant and exciting time for this genre of metal. There were new bands emerging constantly and I'm glad to say many made it to the recording studio. Fantastic to see so many turning up on here .......oh the thrillofitall!!!
The big 4 didn't start out the genre. If you go and see the bigraophy of bands of that time, you'll see that Metallica started in 1981 while Overkill in 1980; that Exodust in 1980 when Megadeth in 1983... there are so many great bands that noone even know about when everyone is rubbing their dicks|pussies thinking about Metallica, a band that hasn't done anything good since 20years! Listen to Dark Angel, Flotsam and Jetsam, Sodom, Exhorder, Annihilator, Death Angel, D.R.I, S.O.D, Testament,...

Mixed opinions on this. I missed them first time round, so they sound like Slayer but the vocalist tries to do shit that just doesn't match with his wailing.
@ILikeMetal96 Well, dbates like this get going in these videos because the quality of the video (audio) is not that good. So instead of "Listening to the music" as you say, poeple debate the highly contraversial subject of "The Big 4" and all that. I say that due to what I've seen in my video uploads' comments. I make HQ 720p videos which sound excellent, and the viewers do listen to the music as the comments are all about the songs and/or bands, but not other shit.
I think forbidden is way better than megadeth and anthrax. Metallica and slayer are the best out of the big four but i definitely think there should have been a "Big ten" cause in the 80's there were too many great thrash bands to only choose 4

@kingstomman You pay waaaay too much attention to just success. All those bands helped make Thrash great in those days. There's always smaller bands backing up a popular movement and spreading it. Like if Annihilator hadn't existed, American Thrash might have been less successful in Canada as well. Speaking of Annihilator, they kept thrashing while Metallica resorted to a more mainstream sound (not that I'm one of those Metallica haters, just saying smaller bands deserve more respect)

@kingstomman We were talking about who deserved credit in regards to Thrash metal music, which is why I mentioned Metallica who haven't been very thrashy for a long time while other bands kept on thrashing and keeping it alive, so those bands deserve a lot of respect too. After all there's much more to having success than just musical quality. Your point is invalid because lot of the bands I listen to aren't big and I had to find them myself because they are fairly unknown, but I did.

@kingstomman I never criticized Metallica, just stating that it's thanks for bands like Forbidden that we can still get to listen to some good thrash so it's wrong to state such bands don't matter because of a lack of success. In fact I have all Metallica studio-albums and like all except St. Anger (though I don't like that Black Album so much either) and I prefer changes in styles with bands anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, they're ALL big.....That's my era , I was there, I thrashed my head off at gigs and listening to Tommy Vance's Friday rock show. It was a really vibrant and exciting time for this genre of metal. There were new bands emerging constantly and I'm glad to say many made it to the recording studio. Fantastic to see so many turning up on here .......oh the thrillofitall!!!

The big 4 didn't start out the genre. If you go and see the bigraophy of bands of that time, you'll see that Metallica started in 1981 while Overkill in 1980; that Exodust in 1980 when Megadeth in 1983... there are so many great bands that noone even know about when everyone is rubbing their dicks|pussies thinking about Metallica, a band that hasn't done anything good since 20years! Listen to Dark Angel, Flotsam and Jetsam, Sodom, Exhorder, Annihilator, Death Angel, D.R.I, S.O.D, Testament,...

So instead of "Listening to the music" as you say, poeple debate the highly contraversial subject of "The Big 4" and all that. I say that due to what I've seen in my video uploads' comments. I make HQ 720p videos which sound excellent, and the viewers do listen to the music as the comments are all about the songs and/or bands, but not other shit.

I think forbidden is way better than megadeth and anthrax. Metallica and slayer are the best out of the big four but i definitely think there should have been a "Big ten" cause in the 80's there were too many great thrash bands to only choose 4

@kingstomman You pay waaaay too much attention to just success. All those bands helped make Thrash great in those days. There's always smaller bands backing up a popular movement and spreading it. Like if Annihilator hadn't existed, American Thrash might have been less successful in Canada as well. Speaking of Annihilator, they kept thrashing while Metallica resorted to a more mainstream sound (not that I'm one of those Metallica haters, just saying smaller bands deserve more respect)

@kingstomman We were talking about who deserved credit in regards to Thrash metal music, which is why I mentioned Metallica who haven't been very thrashy for a long time while other bands kept on thrashing and keeping it alive, so those bands deserve a lot of respect too. After all there's much more to having success than just musical quality. Your point is invalid because lot of the bands I listen to aren't big and I had to find them myself because they are fairly unknown, but I did.

@kingstomman I never criticized Metallica, just stating that it's thanks for bands like Forbidden that we can still get to listen to some good thrash so it's wrong to state such bands don't matter because of a lack of success. In fact I have all Metallica studio-albums and like all except St. Anger (though I don't like that Black Album so much either) and I prefer changes in styles with bands anyway.
