Didn't TV2 had a 5:30pm news in 83-84 than in 86 it has Benson. I think they brought back a 30 minute 5pm news w/ Katherine Lehan and Cheers at 5:30 and by the 90s they had First News at 4 followed by Geraldo at 5pm than later on they moved Donahue at 5pm
9:30 am had Break the Bank with Gene Rayburn/Joe Farago. I know what was on at 9:30 am due to my VHS tape that I have that contained that promo with the new guy and I never taped over that ever since. I took the erasure tab off the tape that contained the Break the Bank promo from WJBK in 1998.
At 4:30 pm, People's Court aired on channel 2. I remembered watching it with my babysitter afterschool in her bedroom and even I was at home, I was forced to watch it.
The WJBK I miss too. They used to be own by the same company that owned WTVG in Toledo until '85. Now a FOX O&O, they don't seem bothered to be carried on my local cable systerm anymore, and I'm not that terribly pissed about it, (WTOL in Toledo got the honors in the late 90's of being picked up by Cancom and seen through much of Canada anyway, so we're even).
I remembered Jackpot Bingo. I watched it every night when it was on at 7:30pm. I used to get the Jackpot Bingo cards at Arby's every week at Lakeside Mall and then be discontinued and started to get them at the neighborhood video store Discount Video. I missed Bobby Mitchell and the co-host after 20 years off WJBK's schedule.
I remember "JB" as well...I'm assuming it was on after "The $1 Million Chance of a Lifetime", until that show moved to early mornings during the 1986-1987 season.
5:30am Grand Ole Opry (Country Classics). I remember watching it every morning before I went to school.
