I have a non kenne bell but highly modded 03 svt and can confirm that the new stock z06's are fast as crap stock, Corvette still has mustang's number, but the mustang is still way cheaper and can be faster with a little money thrown in. I have to give it to the Corvette engineers though, that thing is a true racecar.
props to chevy and a great driver in the Z06....he did awesome with just exhaust / tune....against heavily modded mustangs....imagine if the 'vette had as much done to it as the others....

2003 Cobra was 32k off the lot. Z06 was about 60k off the lot. Both are very respectable cars, but a Cobra with 30k in mobs (to equal the price) is a quite vicious beast. The car here that I think was made to look bad is the 07 Shelby. That's a 70k car that honestly is ........ yeah .... As for KiLLeGaCy's comment, do some research. The 2003 Cobra has an IRS and handles nearly identically to the Z06. Therefore: Cobra & Z06 >>>>>>> Shelby POS

I love the new 5.0's with a passion, but the internals of the engine aren't forged from what I understand which means if you added a supercharger and didn't properly modify the lower end of the block you would be sitting on a bomb counting down. Sooner or later you would throw a rod through the ass end of the motor.
I would take the vette over them all because 20 some pounds on an engine not designed for boost is a ticking time bomb. Granted they are fast as hell, they wont last. The GT500 would be choice 2.
the shelby would be faster if he would shit quicker the transmittion in yhe shelbys are great when i race i never let off the gas and have perfect shits every time its harder to do that in a 03 cobra unless it has a short throw, another thing that would help the shelby is a 10 or 15% OD crank pulley it will add 4 more lbs of boost and he would be making over 600 to the wheels since he has headers to, i made 587 with just a upper and lower pulley and a jlt intake
@luism187 Pretty funny though that the cobra is ONLY ON 21 POUNDS!! The Z06 is the best ride here, has the best power to weight ratio. Z06 is stock minus full exhaust. I'd much rather have the Z06 any day than any of these rides how they are. Out of the 4 rides, this is the only one that is all displacement. The stangs have heavy mods/power adders. Throw a super charger on a LS7. I bet with the same mods the stangs have, the vette would be 100rwhp++

@kushnugz the C6 Z06's are mean stock... LOL wait til the C7's are here in 2-3 years. Cobras will have to work even harder and Ford isn't going to answer up either. We don't need to bring the ZR1 into this.

@kushnugz yeah but for how much? I have seen all kinda of engine speculations. I doubt it will be FI or the price will sky rocket for the extra parts/labor/R&D/warranty possibilities. Its not going to be the LSA in the CTS-v and its not going to be an LS7 or similar. I wouldnt doubt if all they do it tune the suspension, different wheels, interior etc.

@kushnugz the LS9!?!?! LOL That engine costs somewhere near 30k right? Weren't the older Camaro Z28 and SS the same engine but with different suspension/wheel set ups?

@gotboostduramax no it will have the LSX thats in the CTSV. You really think GM will let the Camaro Z28 be nearly as quick Z06? I guess since the C7's are comming soon they might but I can't see them doing that. A Camaro with 640hp and 600 ft/lbs would prob run mid-high 11's and I don't think Z06 owners would appreciate that. Not to mention how much do you think itd cost with the LS9 in it? There are too many factors to make it not have the LS9

@psmTARDCORE I can see them doing it, have you thought about the price of a c7 or a c7 z06. The price would be unreal so a $50,000 camaro would be nothing, a camaro 2ss is only a $38,000 car. Pretty cheap so an ls9 upgrade nothing too special

@psmTARDCORE Yeap! Chevy is already ground testing the new direct injected 5.5L "LS5"16v pushrod that is (suppose) to be in the C7 vette. Rumors of 500hp for the base engine with modded versions for the Z06 and ZR1 already in works.

Nice cars!! But dude yes that Z06 is stock, A mustang usally needs about 70-90 WHP over a z06 because of the weight difference, so they can keep up. But man I love all these cars there so badass

im actually happy for the vette. kenne bell cobras are beast and the best part is that vette is n/a and hasnt even come close to reaching its limit while the cobra and gt500 just about have since they have blowers

sorry buddy that is a stock Z06. Z06s are that fast, they run 11s in the quarter. imagine if you put a supercharger on that beast probabley can run high 10s and for sure pass all these guys no problem
