@LVdancerbabe well how do you want those sissones to look like? i actually love her sissones because it's very light and not "forced". i mean she could jump harder and make a split in the air more visible (like what gillian murphy's doing), but that would not work for this piece because it spoils the tone and the emotions.

In the grand sceme of things not a big deal. I just thought it was odd. I do not think raising her front foot an inch or two would spoil any emotions.

@LVdancerbabe ok, i got what you mean. thanks for pointing that out. anyway, i think this is just one of marianela's performance and maybe in some of her performance, she does the sissones in some other manner. well, i have to give marianela the credit for doing the sissones in two directions -- first with the right foot in front, and second with the left foot in front -- where mostly all ballerinas do it in just one direction.

@xoxDifference i think this is the tradition. it would be rude if the dancer ignores the applause, especially when the crowd are screaming bravo and can't be silenced. but modern classics (with developed storylines, as if you're watching a movie) don't have those pauses anymore such as romeo and juliet, manon, mayerling to name a few.

Can't believe I'm saying this, because I'm usually partial to Russian then French ballerinas, but this has got to be one of the most lyrical, moving Odettes I've ever seen. She may not have that Russian-school, flexible back, but her use of upper body and especially arms are expressive yet unforced. A very soulful interpretation, and quite a contrast to a lot of the unmusical, excessively mannered dancing that some Russian ballerinas adopt as "interpretation" for Odette.
