  • sorry for my english

  • does it hurt ??? It looks bad but is it hurt ??

  • I'm also a type one diabetic. I was diagnosed on 09/11/2009. I have then animas ping. Only I have the inset 360. I love my insulin pump and have had no problems with it. I'm trying to spread the word about diabetes. I want people to realize the true things and the false things about diabetes. Keep up the great work!

  • How often do you change your site? I'm just curious because I usually go 4 days on average.

  • DOes it hurt when it goes in for you? When I tried it at my doctors (Joslin) It didn't. I hope I do as well as you. :)

  • SUPER COOL. Thank you so much for doing all of these videos. You're awesome! Love the spring loaded needle. I can't wait to get mine :)

  • @dionitrix1 He probably is still on injections. He doesn't know what he is talking about lol...

  • i always wondered how this works. i have a friend with an insulin pump and i have never asked for some reason

and does changing it leave scarring?

  • @limetime221 Yes the sites do leave scarring, but not always as it heals better on other occasions. A lot of little white dots all over the stomach. They are not that easy to see unless you look under direct light though.

  • @mason1189 you use a pump for 20 units a day?

  • do you like animas? i am about to go on a pump and it is either mini med or animas... help!!

  • @TypeOneDiabeticc I have the Animas, and I love it. See if you can get more information about it. The OneTouch Ping (made by Animas) is totally waterproof 12 feet for 24 hrs, the basal increments (equivalent to long acting insulin) is .025, and it has a meter-remote that wirelessly boluses and other stuff. For me, I'd pick the Ping, but it's up to you.

  • This is better than the Company video. Thanks.

  • I was thinking about going on the pump and I was just wondering how you deal with the sharps for the insertion it seems too large to fit in a normal sharps container, so what do you use?

  • @mototechdude You can throw out the insertion device after you use it (put the cap back on first). I usually put the old cartridge, tubing, and the needle in the sharps container

  • just got diagnosed :( and im scared to get the pump. it looks like it hurts. does it hurt? i mean like alot? im really not to good with pain. when i went to the hospital they had to numb my skin so i wouldent feel the needle. im sucha baby ;P

  • @ppsddancer No it doesn't hurt at all 80 percent of the time!

  • @dibeticteen ok good:) thanks alot!

  • @ppsddancer The insulin pump really is way better than injections. It usually hurts a little after you insert it and then it may hurt when you give a bolus. For me,I have my OneTouch Ping wait 4 seconds between each unit gives (I've only had type 1 for almost 2 years)and I'm in a study to preserve my beta cells (it helps so much! You want to do it, it has helped me so much!).I'm pretty sensitive to insulin and only take 10-13 units a day!My A1C is usually in the 5's (the last one wasn't so good).

  • I use the inset too.

  • @mason1189 haha on average i use about 70 a day. but our basal rate and carb ratios may be different

  • @dibeticteen I've had minimed for 2 years now since I got diagnosed. I sort've got into a rut with minimed, so I'm switching over to the Ping seeing as how many better features it has. My Endo just said I could switch over so I'm very excited! As far as the site goes, the needle is much thicker than the Ping one and I feel that it hurts much more ): the whole infusion site changing is a pretty quick process but the infusion set isn't all in one like the Ping. Does the Ping hurt? I'm very lean!

  • @missnoelainmarquez No, it doesn not hurn at all. The needle does come in different sizes also(just as the minimed.) I just swithched over to the minimed also it is pretty much the same

  • @missnoelainmarquez The pump doesn't hurt for the most part, I only feel it when giving insulin and right after inserting it. I'm pretty skinny, also, and at first i used Inset 30, but I'm switching to the straight ones.

  • so from one diabetic to another, your reservoir is not called a cannula lol. The cannula goes in under your skin, i was a tad confused for a sec, but this video shows me how much better Animas or Ping is! I'm thinking of switching over from medtronic (:

  • @missnoelainmarquez haha no idea i even said that! The ping is an excellent pump! fuuny because i am actually thinking of switching to the minimed revel! I should be getting it soon.

  • You got cuter since your last video ;) x
