Does anybody know which Graphics card is needed to have The elder scrolls games with good graphics? Is there a particular type of card needed to see them in HD

@shamim13333 There are tons of videocards to choose from, but it depends on the resolution you are aiming to play and the settings (Low/Medium/High)

@LadyGaga141 If you have played the console versions first than it may take a little bit to get used to, but when you do it's a hell of a lot of fun! And when you get bored of the actual game, you can use mods to add on to the experience! Hope it helps! :D

@TheShadyFro Chances are you already are. 1280x720 resolution = HD.

@TheShadyFro I have the 8800GT its almost the same as ur card, and it runs oblivion in HD. Being in HD also depends on your monitor, but seeing as all moniters go up to 1240x1024 atleast then if you set it to that then you will be in a higher resolution than 720.

One of the reasons that Oblivion might not look quite as awesome as some other games in HD is because its quite a old game (2006) so the textures are not amazingly high, i suggest downloading graphical mods to enhance the graphics.

Hey, I have windows 7 and when i exit the sewers my game crahses and my computer freezes. I have tried to put it on the lowest settings and it still won't work. I dont really know that much about computers but if you could tell me what I need to do, I'd appreciate it greatly.

An odd problem, that a lot of people have. There isn't really a definite 'fix' for this. Try re-installing oblivion, and updating your graphics card drivers. If that doesn't work, you may want to try posting it on an oblivion fan site or something similar to that. The Oblivion fan community is generally very supportive.

I use Qarls Texture Pack 3 its fantastic, its weird but when the game first came out it looked fine but afew years later the textures are so out dated! so Qarls texture pack 3 fixes that and brings it up to date.

u can use both settings ... u can see ur character in 3rd person, or in 1st person.

but u i can play better in 1st-person ;)
