Is there a latency delay with the GR-33? Why do some users say it is better than the GR-20? and why did Roland discontinue the GR-33 even though it was released later than the GR-20?
@songbirdwhosings There really isn't much latency, it's definitely "fast", the problem is that occasionally it "freaks out" and plays random octaves of the note, trying to determine which note center, etc. I think the GR-20 is just a lot easier to use, the interface is basic.
are you aquainted with actor Vladimir Mensik? You shouldn´t use a guitar/synthesizer, when you have no idea to handle it properly....I think ya performance is quite embarrassing !
Just the fact alone that you even know what pierrot is, means you're ghey. I on the other hand, had to look it up. Continue to dream of being me, it's ok, you can admit it.
hi. i have 1 important question. how work the midi convert inside gr33? i have gr33 and when i play something, it adds notes, i play clear, slow and accurate.. have you the same problem? i want to know if is a problem of my gr33 or if all people has this problem.. thx
It OCCASIONALLY adds random notes, but not often. If yours is doing it a lot, there must be something wrong with settings, the pickup or the unit itself.
Make sure the intonation, bridge height, etc,. AND the multi-pin connector, are all "good". If so, check the unit and pickup.
you know i used an midi converter roland GI 10 in to the midi in of gr33 and it worked better... why? the gr33 converter is not so good? or just mine?
It's internal, it's a Roland-Ready (factory) Fender Stratocaster, made in Mexico. It "tracks" the actual notes better than any other synth guitar I personally have tried. I think the Godin might be equivalent, but I've only tried them in stores. They don't like when I "perform" in stores, as I do in this video. ha ha
At 1:58 in the video, you can see the 3 standard Strat pickups, then close to the bridge, you see the built-in Roland pickup. For those who don't know, the Roland pickup is 6 pickups, one for each string, which is fed to the computer that determines which note each string is playing, then converts it to digital.
The outputs on the GR-33 are mixed or separate for guitar and synth, so if you use "mixed" you can plug it into ONE amp and get both signals. You can also mix the volume output on the unit.
I like your featured video of darkness, that's fantastic. If I ever make a ghey video like yours, I'll let you know so you can enjoy something you like.
As expected...Guitar Ninja doesn't post any videos of his performances...so he sits on the sidelines and criticizes. Wow...didn't see that one coming...suggest that you post a few of your RIFFs and let's see what you got... there is an Internet Café on the Venice boardwalk right by the tattoo parlor...so it will be convenient for you....I challenge you to surpass 491 hits!!

@songbirdwhosings Thanks, you are one of the few that "got it". That was my point. It makes a LOT of useless sounds and a few OK ones.

I agree it's not "great", but it tracks OK... I also have the Roland Ready Strat, which seems to work a lot better than the pickup alone.

at the 3:06, when you play the pian you can listen good the tracking problem of gr 33... fuck roland.. i loosed money :(

until now I thought Ted Nugent was the only guitar player that blew dead bears......
oonaboona 3 years ago
Oh really? I'm surprised because that's exactly what "oonaboona" means in Portuguese... "blows bears which are deceased"...
Oona = performs oral sex
Boon = bears or other large woodland creatures
Then the "A" at the end means "deceased" or extremely ill.
