  • Is the yellow one a spare?

  • @bricktownfiredept Yes, the yellow one is a reserve rig, in service that day most likely because the real Engine 17 was having some sort of service done to it.

  • @ZBeeb Do you know what year amd model it is?

  • @bricktownfiredept It's a Pierce Arrow, San Jose was buying slime green rigs in the 80s and the very early 90s. By '92 they were back to red. So my expectation is that this is a late 80s model. Photos of this rig and her sisters can be seen here at my Flickr site by searching for "SJS Pierce Arrow" - or just check out the library at Flickr username YFD

  • @ZBeeb I don't see the yellow "lifesaver" arms that make sure the firemen don't fall out. Odd...

  • @bricktownfiredept I see it for the entire opening shot, almost 20 seconds worth... little yellow bar on Engine 17, visible above the Axe - can;t see it, try 720P and going full screen. You won't see it on the front on shots at the end, since they are on the side of the rig.

  • @ZBeeb I see...:)

  • you just know a pierce when you see one (end of vid)

  • how do you know about the protocol like you do?

  • I almost bought a house a few blocks from there 6 years ago
