If there's anything rabbits know how to do, it's repopulate a given area to meet or exceed its natural carrying capacity. Maybe don't kill Bugs or Easter B, but I wouldn't worry about the rest.
People WERE nature till we killed everything now 2 million yrs into our existance pond scum hippies can finally grieve over something that HAS been a way of life since the dawn of time, " Oh so hungry... he look cute tasty animal! im bored to so i can have dinner and a show Woo
@Raptor3946 Even if the rabbit didn't die of it's wounds do you it would of died from shock?
Yes its possible the little guy may have died from shock. I raise rabbits. they tend to stress very easily when dogs are around them. Domestic rabbits have been known to die from stress days after a rabbitry goes a dog attack. Even if the dog never touched them.
To everyone else going this is natural. Screw you. You have obviously never experienced a severe dog attack on your animals before.
@sixers333333 "she didnt hurt it yet" lol hillbilly talk.
the fact that it took you guys a min to stop it after hear it cry like that. how do u live with yourselfs? i would love to see you get chase by a lion and would love to hear you cry like a bitch and i willl stop it after one min. "but the lion didnt hurt the bitch yet"
The rabbit may have not died from its injuries, but it most likely died after all that.. rabbits can have heart attacks pretty easily.. and I must say baby rabbit cries are so sickening to hear, its sad.
You are lucky the mom didn't go after the dog. Sometimes they will do that. The dog was hurting it since it was crying. It probably went off and died from the stress of the dog mauling it. Poor thing.
Bullcrap. No rabbit moms would risk their lives fighting such a huge animal, knowing very well they could end up equally dead. Besides, rabbits lose their kids all the time to predators, and for this reason rabbits breed rapidly, to even have a slight chance of reaching adult life.
If this dog wouldn't have gotten it, some owl, fox, wolverine or other predator would.
@McLarenMercedes orly? Guess you have never seen one go after another to protect its babies, have you? just because they 'lose their kids' or breed like crazy doesn't mean its ok for some idiot dog owner to let theirs chomp down on one.
i had a border collie but some stupid bitch called the pound on them cause they were eating scraps from her and said they weren't being feed which they were being feed all the time
im not sure if it is just a myth or not, but wont the mother reject the baby if a human (or possibly even the dog) touches it? Or was that something our moms told us to make us leave animals alone as kids?
@SaGalv I don't realy know myself. I asked myself that as well. I am willing to believe both that its real and its something our mom's tell us to leave animals alone. I think its good advice realy.
basically if u want ur dog to kill rabbits then you need to encourage it and goad it on to shake and kill it quickly. if not then dont let it play with the poor baby and if its hurt break its neck. You 2 give proper hunters a bad name.
@bazzleskizzle proper hunters use trained hunting dogs to kill rabbits quickly. They don't encourage some random dog owner to teach their animal to kill another just for the hell of it.
@bazzleskizzle I was talking abou th epart where you said to goad it on to encourage it to kill it by shaking it to death. Not cool. What needs to happen is the dog needs to be trained to leave the wild bunnies alone.
@chinbunny1 Yes I did, but I regularly catch and eat wild bunnie's for the pot. My dog is very proficient at dispatching them quickly and humanely, a couple of good shakes and its bye bye rabbit, hello rabbit stew. He's even caught a few that were suffering from myxomatosis so in essence was doing the population a good turn by removing highly contagieous infected bunnie's.
And on a different note, a rabbit would not stand a chance against a dog.
@bazzleskizzle They aren't vermin. they are wildlife, and they have a right to be here like us, and are pets do, without being harassed, or wastefully destroyed. Now, that said, I have no problem with someone hunting them, and not wasting them. I have wild rabbits that come into my backyard, in a amall town. The dog is not allowed to touch them. My family enjoys them for what they are.
@chinbunny1 Rabbits in England are not a native species and are classed as invasive species, they are one of the few animals that can be legally hunted without license and using dogs. Rabbit populations in england are estimated at 37.5 million with a range of 25-37 per hectare, they are by no means endangered and have recovered extremely well from the intentional myxomitosis outbreak, yes thats right, INTENTIONAL.
@bazzleskizzle Huh, I was always under the impression they were, from all the literature, and books written about them (watership down, and the private life of the rabbits). What this dog is chomping on is certainly not a native species here in america. Yeah that is cool that haven't banned hunting on those though. I have no problem with hunting animals, as long as its done in a humane manner and responsibly. Its those that teach their dogs bad habits, like this, that bother me.
@chinbunny1 apparently they were introduced by the normans. They also set alot free to breed during the and after the war as a free food source. Then they tried to kill them off with myxy.
@bazzleskizzle mymo was released to control them. Not kill them off. if they were there that long, that's quite a long time& I don't see why they should be completely exterminated because of it. & dogs should be killing anything unless tey are trained hunting dogs, pretty gross to eat an animal after its been in a dogs mouth, if you ask me. seems ther eis a lot of videos of brits eatng them after the dog has bitten the living crap out of it.
@chinbunny1 fact is i didnt ask you your opinion, you just gave it freely. But having just checked your profile your gonna really hate me when I tell you that I culled 45 Rock Doves last night at work. ep, thats right, feral pigeons. And unless you dont have electricity or have anything that uses gas in its production then unfortunately for you you kinda helped fund me do it. Don't worry They were dispatched cleanly by a head shot from my rifle. You see if they didnt leave huge piles of guano
@bazzleskizzle Nope, I have no problem with that as long as its done humanely.Dispatching with a rifle is humane, if it was done any other way, then id be a little upset. What I am saying is just don't sick the dogs on animals, because the dogs themselves can become a threat to the local pets, livestock, and basically anything in the community.I have personally had animals killed by dogs like that, on my property.
@chinbunny1 my dogs are no threat to other dogs because they are socialised and exercised properly. They know they cant look at cats and they even show no aggressive tendency's towards my brothers caged rabbit, poor thing has to live in a cage. The fact that I have allowed them to hunt whilst still maintaining control has actually resulted in better behaved dogs as opposed to your assumption that it would make the dog "BAD". Think maybe rabbit people should stick to commenting about rabbits.
@bazzleskizzle some of us rabbit people have gone through plenty of dog attacks on our barns from dogs where their owners allowed them to 'hunt and kill.' Im trying to rave about it, just trying to make a point, and that's just about every rabbit breeder I know that has had it happen. Hell I had a dog go
@bazzleskizzle Ever read the book watership down? Fictional literature about wild rabbit have to face and go througj over there, and a lot of it involves man destroying them. A pretty environmentally conscious book.
@chinbunny1 you post this crap yet say that it is ok for HOUSE CATS to be allowed to roam around on other peoples property to kill ( WASTEFULLY DESTROY ) songbirds and snakes, and shit in other peoples gardens........you are a silly ignorant hypocrite.......
@bazzleskizzle & also hunting is one thing. Allowing a dog to kill because its 'cool,' or just because it can, or its 'natural', is completly another, and wrong. Sometimes it ruins the dog, and they think its ok to try to kill other animals. Lived in the country, where I live (in the us)we dealt with dogs allowed to do that.
@chinbunny1 yh, I've seen how the american humane society deals with unwanted or problem dogs. Is that the kind of humanity you'd like to be associated with?
You ever seen what happens when a rabbit population gets too big for its food source. They eat the bark from the base of trees killing them and making them rot from within. Fact is in england there are no truly wild places and everything is managed. Hundreds and thousands of animals are culled every year to maintain the local ecosystem.
@bazzleskizzle They deal with them by putting them down, because that is what happens when they become a problem, the owner teaches them bad habits(like killing little animals) etc. It sucks, but they don't have a choice wen it comes to something,a nd yes I do support that, because for one I know people that work in shelters and have to deal with it, and two allowing such a thing can make the dog dangerous and pose a potential threat to pet owners.
Im all for controlling wild animal populations, but not like that. Not when there are better ways of doing it, other then teaching the dog to kill like that. Here in america we also have to shoot problem dogs when they move from killing wildlife and small pets to killing livestock. It sucks, but they can become dangerous when their owners allow them to pick up bad habits, or don't control them.
@bazzleskizzle There is a lot of people over here that have the let it kill because its natural mindset, then everyone else has to deal with the problem they created. It sucks. that mentality is lack of respect for the wildlife though. Used to have a neighbor that would shoot dogs for running deer. Our local police dept shoots them when are caught killing animals in town, whether they are pets or not. my dad had to shoot them for going after our livestock.
@bazzleskizzle through a one inch crack in the door of the barn just to get to mine one night. it also went over the fence, and destroyed the yard getting in too. The police ended up shooting the dog. It killed many of my animals. They *can* become aggressive towards other animals when allowed to do this. When I first moved into town, we had another neighbor that allowed their dogs to roam their backyard. these were big
@bazzleskizzle dogs. The one figured out how to get out, opened the gate, and let themselves out. They came onto our property, killed a bunch of our animals, tried to attack my little sister, and chased her to the house. She had to beat them off with a shovel and a pitchfork. Took the police dept four hours to find these dogs. When they finally found them, they fined the owners and made them pay for the damages, and replace everything they killed.
@chinbunny1 see your operating under the assumption that most dog owners are not responsible people. Personally my belief is that aggressive dogs should be destroyed but well behaved dogs capable of hunting and following the commands of the owner should be praised. By your reasoning I would never get the bunny's off of the dogs for processing because their prey drive would undoubtedly overflow into aggression towards all and sundry. Dogs are amazing, they can be both hunter and good citizen.
@bazzleskizzle I do agree that dogs can be awesome hunters when properly trained to respond to their owners commands. I had a cousin that used to raise beagles. The dogs were not allowed to touch any animals unless they were out on the hunt. hunting with them is much different. Allowing it kill just because(like the other cottontail video) is a totally different story. That's the type of owner that worries me, because they just don't care
Come to find out that wasn't the first time they had problems with those dogs, and it wasn't the last. The owners ended up getting rid of them because they turned mean after that. Those dogs were lucky they didn't shoot them, because they probably would have if it escalated to that point.
@bazzleskizzle as for the other comment on the dog with the cottontail. not cool for that owner to allow that at all. Some of our subspecies of rabbits are endangered over here. American Cottontials aren't. There are some in the midwest that are. The cottontail populations are kept under control by hunting. Come to think of it, i think it may be illegal to kill them out of season. I think that depends on state laws.
@bazzleskizzle Over here, in my area there was a case going on locally where some guy was taken to court for letting his dog kill an animal in his backyard. He told it to sick it, then let it fling it all over his backyard for a good ten to fifteen minutes before it finally killed. There was some kids with him filming it for him. It happened where all the neighbors could see it.
@chinbunny1 read my original comment, I said it should be killed quickly if not then they shouldn't let the dog play with it but you didnt read it properly and just wanted to preach at me.
basically if a dog harrasses farm animals thats not cool.
If a dog is aggressive, thats not cool.
Disobedient, not cool.
Unruly and socially unacceptable, also not cool.
Hunting on land where you dont have permission or in public parks, yep you guessed it NOT COOL.
@bazzleskizzle Im sorry if I came off preachy. Guess i did misread what you were saying. Yes, allowing any of this is not cool at all. i guess I thought you were encouraging it when oyu said to teach to kill quickly, but people like him shouldn't be teaching the dog anything like that. & its dogs with owners like that that end up with issues. & yeah the other guy got what he deserved ESP since his family owned an extermination service & had the proper equipment to humanely remove the animal.
@bazzleskizzle Anyone that thinks they won't get prosecuted for allowing their dog to do such a thing needs to watch that video, and read the articles on it. Its sick. Its not on you tube. You can find it by searching jackson county mi man kills raccoon. He ended up pleading guilty to a misdemeanor
@chinbunny1 "basically if u want ur dog to kill rabbits then you need to encourage it and goad it on to shake and kill it quickly. if not then dont let it play with the poor baby and if its hurt break its neck. You 2 give proper hunters a bad name."
Thats my original post, note where I say DONT LET IT PLAY WITH THE POOR BABY!
Maybe I should've said, dont be a cunt, smack ya dog in the face so that it knows thats unacceptable behaviour you mugs or if a keeper kill it quick you prat.
@bazzleskizzle basically some people cant read english unless its written in an aggressive way. Fucking idiots should learn to slow down and take in whats been said rather than yapping on and on in a direction thats misunderstood at best.
@bazzleskizzle At least our discussion on this was fairly civil for the most part. There wasn't a lot of name calling and mud slinging. If I did, im sorry. Can we agree to disagree on teaching the dog stuff, and just say animal abuse sucks? :P
@bazzleskizzle Yeah there are plenty of redneck hicks(like the op) that live around here that allow their dogs to kill off other animals like that. They think its cool and funny. Not funny for the animal. Its creul. Its also my understanding that the european wild rabbit may be endangered in quite a few areas because of manmade VHD, and mxmo diseases, am I correct? I don't remember where I read about that, it was on the net somewhere.
@chinbunny1 YOU AGAIN!!!?????? Pissing and moaning about dog owners ( and I think THIS guys is an asshole for allowing that baby rabbit to be toyed with and suffer)....yet YOU think it's ok for cat owners to let their pets roam.......as if a wandering cat wouldnt have made that same little bunny suffer.....ignorant hypocrite!!!
@njmudpuppy Obviously you do give a damn, since you keep coming back to comment, under a video that has nothing to do with the original argument in the first place.
@bazzleskizzle Something those that would rather see them destroyed or consider them to be pests or vermin should think about. Now, i raise domestic rabbits. If it was a domestic rabbit in question, then that would be a pest, and vermin, because they are man bred animals that can breed year round, and can be extremely destructive when they are let go. Yes rats are vermin, wild rabbits no. The bunny is chomping on seems to be an american cotton tail.
@ShootingStuffCanada for the way it was spur-of-the-moment filmed from a cell phone? or just for the content? the dog really seems to get a rise out of me playing it just now...

If there's anything rabbits know how to do, it's repopulate a given area to meet or exceed its natural carrying capacity. Maybe don't kill Bugs or Easter B, but I wouldn't worry about the rest.

You are lucky the mom didn't go after the dog. Sometimes they will do that. The dog was hurting it since it was crying. It probably went off and died from the stress of the dog mauling it. Poor thing.
chinbunny1 11 months ago
@chinbunny1
McLarenMercedes 10 months ago
@McLarenMercedes orly? Guess you have never seen one go after another to protect its babies, have you? just because they 'lose their kids' or breed like crazy doesn't mean its ok for some idiot dog owner to let theirs chomp down on one.

basically if u want ur dog to kill rabbits then you need to encourage it and goad it on to shake and kill it quickly. if not then dont let it play with the poor baby and if its hurt break its neck. You 2 give proper hunters a bad name.
bazzleskizzle 1 year ago
@bazzleskizzle proper hunters use trained hunting dogs to kill rabbits quickly. They don't encourage some random dog owner to teach their animal to kill another just for the hell of it.
chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 think you'll find i said that they shouldn't be letting them play with rabbits.
bazzleskizzle 10 months ago
@bazzleskizzle I was talking abou th epart where you said to goad it on to encourage it to kill it by shaking it to death. Not cool. What needs to happen is the dog needs to be trained to leave the wild bunnies alone.
chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 Yes I did, but I regularly catch and eat wild bunnie's for the pot. My dog is very proficient at dispatching them quickly and humanely, a couple of good shakes and its bye bye rabbit, hello rabbit stew. He's even caught a few that were suffering from myxomatosis so in essence was doing the population a good turn by removing highly contagieous infected bunnie's.
And on a different note, a rabbit would not stand a chance against a dog.
Rabbits are vermin in england just like rats.
bazzleskizzle 10 months ago
@bazzleskizzle They aren't vermin. they are wildlife, and they have a right to be here like us, and are pets do, without being harassed, or wastefully destroyed. Now, that said, I have no problem with someone hunting them, and not wasting them. I have wild rabbits that come into my backyard, in a amall town. The dog is not allowed to touch them. My family enjoys them for what they are.
chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 Rabbits in England are not a native species and are classed as invasive species, they are one of the few animals that can be legally hunted without license and using dogs. Rabbit populations in england are estimated at 37.5 million with a range of 25-37 per hectare, they are by no means endangered and have recovered extremely well from the intentional myxomitosis outbreak, yes thats right, INTENTIONAL.
bazzleskizzle 10 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Huh, I was always under the impression they were, from all the literature, and books written about them (watership down, and the private life of the rabbits). What this dog is chomping on is certainly not a native species here in america. Yeah that is cool that haven't banned hunting on those though. I have no problem with hunting animals, as long as its done in a humane manner and responsibly. Its those that teach their dogs bad habits, like this, that bother me.

chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 apparently they were introduced by the normans. They also set alot free to breed during the and after the war as a free food source. Then they tried to kill them off with myxy.
bazzleskizzle 10 months ago
@bazzleskizzle mymo was released to control them. Not kill them off. if they were there that long, that's quite a long time& I don't see why they should be completely exterminated because of it. & dogs should be killing anything unless tey are trained hunting dogs, pretty gross to eat an animal after its been in a dogs mouth, if you ask me. seems ther eis a lot of videos of brits eatng them after the dog has bitten the living crap out of it.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@chinbunny1 fact is i didnt ask you your opinion, you just gave it freely. But having just checked your profile your gonna really hate me when I tell you that I culled 45 Rock Doves last night at work. ep, thats right, feral pigeons. And unless you dont have electricity or have anything that uses gas in its production then unfortunately for you you kinda helped fund me do it. Don't worry They were dispatched cleanly by a head shot from my rifle. You see if they didnt leave huge piles of guano
bazzleskizzle 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Nope, I have no problem with that as long as its done humanely.Dispatching with a rifle is humane, if it was done any other way, then id be a little upset. What I am saying is just don't sick the dogs on animals, because the dogs themselves can become a threat to the local pets, livestock, and basically anything in the community.I have personally had animals killed by dogs like that, on my property.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@chinbunny1 my dogs are no threat to other dogs because they are socialised and exercised properly. They know they cant look at cats and they even show no aggressive tendency's towards my brothers caged rabbit, poor thing has to live in a cage. The fact that I have allowed them to hunt whilst still maintaining control has actually resulted in better behaved dogs as opposed to your assumption that it would make the dog "BAD". Think maybe rabbit people should stick to commenting about rabbits.
bazzleskizzle 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle some of us rabbit people have gone through plenty of dog attacks on our barns from dogs where their owners allowed them to 'hunt and kill.' Im trying to rave about it, just trying to make a point, and that's just about every rabbit breeder I know that has had it happen. Hell I had a dog go
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Ever read the book watership down? Fictional literature about wild rabbit have to face and go througj over there, and a lot of it involves man destroying them. A pretty environmentally conscious book.

@bazzleskizzle & also hunting is one thing. Allowing a dog to kill because its 'cool,' or just because it can, or its 'natural', is completly another, and wrong. Sometimes it ruins the dog, and they think its ok to try to kill other animals. Lived in the country, where I live (in the us)we dealt with dogs allowed to do that.
chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 yh, I've seen how the american humane society deals with unwanted or problem dogs. Is that the kind of humanity you'd like to be associated with?
You ever seen what happens when a rabbit population gets too big for its food source. They eat the bark from the base of trees killing them and making them rot from within. Fact is in england there are no truly wild places and everything is managed. Hundreds and thousands of animals are culled every year to maintain the local ecosystem.
bazzleskizzle 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle They deal with them by putting them down, because that is what happens when they become a problem, the owner teaches them bad habits(like killing little animals) etc. It sucks, but they don't have a choice wen it comes to something,a nd yes I do support that, because for one I know people that work in shelters and have to deal with it, and two allowing such a thing can make the dog dangerous and pose a potential threat to pet owners.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
Im all for controlling wild animal populations, but not like that. Not when there are better ways of doing it, other then teaching the dog to kill like that. Here in america we also have to shoot problem dogs when they move from killing wildlife and small pets to killing livestock. It sucks, but they can become dangerous when their owners allow them to pick up bad habits, or don't control them.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle There is a lot of people over here that have the let it kill because its natural mindset, then everyone else has to deal with the problem they created. It sucks. that mentality is lack of respect for the wildlife though. Used to have a neighbor that would shoot dogs for running deer. Our local police dept shoots them when are caught killing animals in town, whether they are pets or not. my dad had to shoot them for going after our livestock.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle through a one inch crack in the door of the barn just to get to mine one night. it also went over the fence, and destroyed the yard getting in too. The police ended up shooting the dog. It killed many of my animals. They *can* become aggressive towards other animals when allowed to do this. When I first moved into town, we had another neighbor that allowed their dogs to roam their backyard. these were big
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle dogs. The one figured out how to get out, opened the gate, and let themselves out. They came onto our property, killed a bunch of our animals, tried to attack my little sister, and chased her to the house. She had to beat them off with a shovel and a pitchfork. Took the police dept four hours to find these dogs. When they finally found them, they fined the owners and made them pay for the damages, and replace everything they killed.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@chinbunny1 see your operating under the assumption that most dog owners are not responsible people. Personally my belief is that aggressive dogs should be destroyed but well behaved dogs capable of hunting and following the commands of the owner should be praised. By your reasoning I would never get the bunny's off of the dogs for processing because their prey drive would undoubtedly overflow into aggression towards all and sundry. Dogs are amazing, they can be both hunter and good citizen.
bazzleskizzle 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle I do agree that dogs can be awesome hunters when properly trained to respond to their owners commands. I had a cousin that used to raise beagles. The dogs were not allowed to touch any animals unless they were out on the hunt. hunting with them is much different. Allowing it kill just because(like the other cottontail video) is a totally different story. That's the type of owner that worries me, because they just don't care
chinbunny1 9 months ago
Come to find out that wasn't the first time they had problems with those dogs, and it wasn't the last. The owners ended up getting rid of them because they turned mean after that. Those dogs were lucky they didn't shoot them, because they probably would have if it escalated to that point.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle as for the other comment on the dog with the cottontail. not cool for that owner to allow that at all. Some of our subspecies of rabbits are endangered over here. American Cottontials aren't. There are some in the midwest that are. The cottontail populations are kept under control by hunting. Come to think of it, i think it may be illegal to kill them out of season. I think that depends on state laws.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Over here, in my area there was a case going on locally where some guy was taken to court for letting his dog kill an animal in his backyard. He told it to sick it, then let it fling it all over his backyard for a good ten to fifteen minutes before it finally killed. There was some kids with him filming it for him. It happened where all the neighbors could see it.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@chinbunny1 read my original comment, I said it should be killed quickly if not then they shouldn't let the dog play with it but you didnt read it properly and just wanted to preach at me.
basically if a dog harrasses farm animals thats not cool.
If a dog is aggressive, thats not cool.
Disobedient, not cool.
Unruly and socially unacceptable, also not cool.
Hunting on land where you dont have permission or in public parks, yep you guessed it NOT COOL.
as for that case, he deserved prosecution.
bazzleskizzle 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Im sorry if I came off preachy. Guess i did misread what you were saying. Yes, allowing any of this is not cool at all. i guess I thought you were encouraging it when oyu said to teach to kill quickly, but people like him shouldn't be teaching the dog anything like that. & its dogs with owners like that that end up with issues. & yeah the other guy got what he deserved ESP since his family owned an extermination service & had the proper equipment to humanely remove the animal.
chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Anyone that thinks they won't get prosecuted for allowing their dog to do such a thing needs to watch that video, and read the articles on it. Its sick. Its not on you tube. You can find it by searching jackson county mi man kills raccoon. He ended up pleading guilty to a misdemeanor

chinbunny1 9 months ago
@bazzleskizzle Yeah there are plenty of redneck hicks(like the op) that live around here that allow their dogs to kill off other animals like that. They think its cool and funny. Not funny for the animal. Its creul. Its also my understanding that the european wild rabbit may be endangered in quite a few areas because of manmade VHD, and mxmo diseases, am I correct? I don't remember where I read about that, it was on the net somewhere.
chinbunny1 10 months ago
@chinbunny1 YOU AGAIN!!!?????? chinbunny1 10 months ago
