  • Lol even after 4 years you havent fixxed the tittle!!

  • Fes fajne :D lubie te lata <3

  • last picture looks like lucille ball

  • I wish i was born in 1900 to experience the roaring 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s.

  • los buenos y felices tiempos. exepto por la segunda guerra mundial

  • @doggsector - Are you kidding me ? lady gaga is nowhere near an entertainer. The Andrew Sisters put on a real show, using their real voices and talent. Never copied anybody either.I'd like to see them attend the music awards dressed like men, wearing mud all over their bodies, and wearing a so call dress made out of trash bags or toilet paper. In the name of entertainment No Respect !!!!

  • @xENJOIxVANSx because back then black people didnt try to be politically correct and get there asses into everthing thinking that they were special because they have brown skin.......They were cool back then now EWW

  • Back then real men ran the country, and America had standards. It's amazing to me how we went from a generation where 15,16,17 year old boys would LIE about their age to get in the military...now we have gay vegans.

  • @STARSandBARS1994 hahaha yea. AND women on subs ? WTF??

  • @LPJuicebox uhhh...idk

  • Yes, the 1940's were fab...if you lived in the USA. I remember riding in the dark green 1941 LaSalle to the beach. But the year before I also recall running across the street (die Buergerwiese) into the largest park in Dresen on 13th February 1945, and crawling under a statue of Schiller as the incendiary bombs started to fall. Dresden, the most beautiful baroque city in the world was turned into an inferno. A hundred thousand died. Coming to America was like coming to heaven. God Bless America.

  • @xENJOIxVANSx let,s not worry about skin color, just enjoy music from the era i was born, i amMEXICAN AMERICAN

  • @auroralight40 NO YOU ARE burrito american...... lol jk

  • @richardcwood1 I still have an old Restaurant the store gave me in 1945 that has that sugar saying. long time sense heard that. My Mother was a Rosie Riveter at Boeing in Wichita. Reading the inputs I noticed Dentist, yes I remember they pulled your teeth with no pain killers. That's why most Fathers that went to Dentist came home 3 sheets in the wind.

  • Why can't we all still be in the 40's, Must have been so amazing, always smiling happy, and none of these chavs and rubbish music we have know, =(

  • @TheFishexpert1 You freakin nutcase! Why would you want to live in a time when the WAR was going on?! You're lucky you would be able to get a job nowadays! And people were NOT happy. I asked people who lived in the 40s and they said it was a scary experience! People like you are so naive!!

  • @The45Falcon and there is nobody scared today? Are you serious? My grandfather served in WWII with the 101st parachuted into Holland in 1944 and he was scared but did his duty to his country. My grandparents became more and more disgusted with the eroding of morals within this society. We have gone from the Andrew Sisters to Laday Gaga. No you are naive and don't know what the hell you are talking about, you moronic fool.

  • @xENJOIxVANSx Because this used to be a smart country.

  • @xENJOIxVANSx In the 40's they were still a little racist bud... But some of the black singers back then were AMAZING!!! You should hear them there soo good!!!

  • i like this kind of music ,since i played Fallout 3.... great

  • Sure doesn't sound like the Andrews Sisters! It's not "till I come home to you" or "till I come swingin' home." it's "till I come marching home." (It was wartime!) Are you sure ths is the Andrews Sisters? They knew the words! OneKewpie.

  • The music was sooooo much better back then.

  • reminds me of fallout 3

  • It's 1940s, not 1940's. Great song though.

  • I asked my grandpa that same question. It had to do with the blond hair and blue eyes.. Kinda a slap in the face to Germany.. Plus they were smokin hot! They still had soul music. I am told that they listened to it to pick up the spirits of the soldiers. It was mainly in Italy and Germany tho

  • I love this song, I love this kind of music and above all the time:)

  • @xENJOIxVANSx cause back in the day, america was 90% white and niggo's were mainly in the south

  • We can't turn back the clock; but, some talented souls in this era can do them all over again. Example Barry Manilows' Songs of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Man, he missed out 40s !

  • i love the 1940s!

  • @xENJOIxVANSx For the very reason that was the 40s. Then came Mr OBAMA. That's History and a nation moving forward

  • @ 0:25, does anyone know where to get that type of high-waisted bikini/swimming costume? I'm obsessed with the 30's and 40's, and I'm going on holiday XD

    I'm can't seem to find any :S

    Anyway, awesome video *Likes* :D

  • I would do Anything to be Born 1920 and Live to Fight in WWll during the 1940s. Its only because back then people Actually Showed Respect And was Honored to live in American. Today's American Sucks, its all about living in the fast lane, not Enjoying the life you have and the little things you got like the people back then did.

  • This sounds odd but I love everything about the 30's and 40's. Apart from the grief and death ect. But all the Morale and dancing and music and fashion. I love it all! Its just all so interesting!

  • hmm, i want to live in the 40's, so much simpler

  • @xENJOIxVANSx Well it was the 1940's and race was still a massive issue, so you would never see a mixed race group back then.

  • @xENJOIxVANSx not to be racist, but a majority of the singers were white, but the african-americans made a majority of the good stuff. its just that that time period was so "white supremacist" it was stupid, and that makes me think...why did us whites think we were all big and awesome that led up to all of that shit. im just glad everything isnt like that now, lol

  • @xENJOIxVANSx because white people are better.....that was a stupid question

  • I wish men were still like Cary Grant and the women like Rita Hayworth. Those were the times, even the "trashiest" of people would be considered godly now a days. I wish we could go back to this time!

  • Lovely! 5 Stars!

  • the poster at 1:12 is interesting

  • @Bobababy2208 I love the 40s and 50s. But the 60s were very cool for many and was quite an expressive era of sound and song writing. But I agree the 70s went a bit weird. I think music lost it towards the end. And hasn't ecovered much...

  • hey doyou know where I can download this song?

  • I love the 40's and 50's there era was nice and good but this era is crappy and shity!

  • this era seemed really nice .... better than this time

  • this is fun

  • Was that last picture...Lucille Ball???

  • Yes. This was Lucille Ball. I loved her movies from the forties.

  • Yes it was!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i wish i was back in that time......but im black so it would probably suck... ;-(

  • lol my grandma was born in 1940. Thats a classic :P

People who have lived through these years have really experienced a lot of things

  • i love the 40's!! I wish i could get a time machine and go back! they were so romantic! especially when someone you loved was going off to war aww :(

  • wish i could travel back in time too would do it in a heart beat!!!

  • Aside from the war Id love to go back to the 40s:) I even dress the part sometimes..half vintage half modern..40s hair a blouse and a ripped pair of jeans and if I feel really up to it Ill go full out:) The times when women were women and men were men:)

  • @purclassic1 I agree! Today is too...fast and full of sex.

  • I'd love to agree with ya. The romantic side of me does. But the truth was quite different I'm sure. Lotta closet violence and drug use, racism, domestic abuse was rampant, etc etc.. Just not alot of media or coverage on it. The things we love about the era ( music, movies, Style) don't represent it fairly I'm afraid. Not to mention warld war that killed many many many times more ppl than any skirmishes were in nowadays. Hard times. Dont get me wrong. I adore the era for what it has left us.

  • And Talent was not handed out...you had to work for it.

  • I am with the rest you guys. I wish I lived in those days...

People always looked their best and had very good manners...

How unfortunate that that not longer exists.

  • i wish i lived during this time, between the 1920's-1950's. I would give anything to be able to live at this time.

  • aww, i wish i lived in the 1940's

  • i wanted to live on 1940, only fun!!

  • Yeah 'cause there weren't any wars at all in those days...

  • yes, my grandfather was in norht of africa, he was a commander tank. her best firend died there, he told me it

  • Yes there was WW2 it started in 1939...didnt you know??

  • No wars?

  • It's something called: Sarcasm ;)

  • very cool. Must be a lot of fun living in the 40's

  • The chicks in the 40's are so HOT

  • 1940s ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • 0:15 NICE!!!!

  • This is my favorite era for style and even music (30's and 40's) but being a multiracial woman here in this country probably would have sucked in thoes times. I would have definately live in thoes times but elsewhere and not in Europe either!

  • agreed .

  • Great Video! I wish I was alive back in the 1940's-50's! Great generation. Families had values, kids respected their elders, parents weren't afraid to discipline their kids. The old movies, songs, fashions! That was The Greatest Generation ever! I always take time out for people from that generation, without them, we wouldn't have the freedoms that we have today. If you know someone from that era, listen to their stories, their stories are way better than a crappy reality show on TV!

  • A breath of fresh air!!! Thanx for sharing,

  • god bless america

  • sigh* i wish i could have lived in this time. i agree with NordicBlondeBeauty...

  • Today I am 17 years old .I was born too late :-(((( I want to 30's and 40's !!!! Love jazz, blues and swing :-) Fantastic video and music :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :*:*:*

  • its merely a coincidence

  • @1957thunderbird312 - lolol

  • @1957thunderbird312 I don't think so.

  • What's the Name of That Song

  • Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree

  • The 1940s were also the time of increased censorship in the arts, especially the film world where the antisocialst witchhunts were undertaken with a vengeance and destroyed many artists.

  • I wish I had lived in the 40's instead of now. Just think...women were feminine, men were men, Americans loved their country and gave such sacrifices for the world. Family mattered. It was all so romantic and glamorous. Yes, I am an idealistic fool.

  • No, I agree with you completely. :)

  • As to whom I agree with, that would be NordicBlondeBeauty.

  • Thank you!!

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty I REALLY AGREE! I wish I was there right now. I know theres death involved and war, but it was all so romantic and fun then! Like for example, now we don't even have dances where people dress up and meet new people and have a good old swing (dance) with each other. Its not as fun anymore in my view.

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty Maybe idealistic, but so right.

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty either i do

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty

Me too man, I wish I had lived in the 40's too..

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty - How old are you?

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty Until you had to go to the dentist.

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty Oh yeah and suffer through World War 2?? I asked people who were from that time and they said it was the worst time of their lives. People lost their money during the war and lost their jobs so they had to work cheaply like at a mine or something. Yeah, what happy times they were. Get fucking real.

And I have noticed your comment was written a year ago before you lecture me, but I only "just" noticed this video.

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty I wish it was the 40's right now. I would join the Army and fight the Germans. I know that is easy to say, but I would. Just think we have come from patriotism of America to hate and repugnancy by those who hate this country. From The Andrew Sisters to Lady Gaga. Yeah things are "so much better." The only thing I would have liked to have seen different in the 40's is segragation of the military. There were many fine black soldiers who wanted to fight for America.

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty .. i agree with you i watch those war movies where they have all those guys in uniforms and of course with their gals and i wish i could of lived that decade too. Such innocence and a man knew how to court women then. :)

  • @Indysgal38 amen to that....love this music

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty i hate to bust your bubble but the 40's were far from "idealistic."

  • @NordicBlondeBeauty Man that says it all haha 40's come back to america!!

  • im more modern... but i still aprechiate ALL music (40's, 50's, 60',s etc (mozart and beethoven too))

  • tribute to he 40's? lol nice vid

  • ever since i was a kid ive been into swing and 40's music now im older my room is full of 1920 type writers, gramaphones and oil lamps!

    I just adore the style!

I used to wish i was born back in the early 1900's instead of in the 1990's(like i dont really fit in with other teenagers in this generation...)...but in reality it wouldnt of been so great i dont think, i mean women couldnt do much or say much it would of been pretty opressive.

  • My style is dedicated to the 1490's and I love it.

  • I seriously wish all of this would come back. I know that sounds completely crazy but I loved the style and how things were and the music<3

  • one of them was judy garland

  • now THIS is real music

  • Ofcourse, In America was it great in the '40's, but here in Europe it was war, real war, not the way it was in America.

I know that America liberated us, and screwed up the Germans, But even America is not as good as you think.

I love the Andrews Sisters, great song =D

  • yeah your also a jackass.

america is falling behind in style and music while other countries are beating our ass.

  • what an asshole i came to this page to LISTEN TO 1940S MUSIC but i see elitist fucks like you talking shit. so i snapped back asswhipe.

yah people LOVE OUR MUSIC but we really are'nt so special ANYMORE when it comes to music. Japan, Korea, UK, Germany, etc are all making on par music with us. To think we're the best is an elitist opinion.

And lesmond? Wtf kinda name is that. Lemme guess you wore sweater vests and got ur ass beat in high school didn't you? I'd rather be named Ferkel.

  • You are a pussy who gets picked on in high school. I always stand up for myself like the TRUE American way. I fought in the Korean War, so what makes you think I would be scared of some fucking schollboys.? U.S.A is the best at everything good, just get over it. If you don't like the U.S then go shoot yourself because you are a worthless piece of crap.

  • U.S.A is the most entertaining country

  • tuuuuuunnnnnnnneeeeeeee

  • Awe! I love this song, my aunt had this song played at her wedding when she got re-married. Thanks.

  • wow wow nostalgia beautiful im 46 and id love to of been in this era thanx keep em commin visit the british war museum in london that the biz of the war years

  • You got this one righgt..The Andrews and BIng (mentioned in some comments) are often "forgotten" while Sinatra and Tony Bennett (who was a POST-40s star and a novelty singer before 1957) get more attentioN! Most ANdrews Sisters get the same rap the 1960s bubblegum pop like the Brady Bunch does!

  • It always amazes that some people can be so hypercritical and caustic with their comments.

People who act like this are not very nice people. Luckily, they are in the minority.

    Thank you for this posting.

  • only problem is I get so damned melancholy.

  • oh,why's that?

  • God do I love the Andrew sisters!

  • wow this is good

  • and yet you wouldnt believe all the negative feedback i get about 99.9% of my videos

  • Just ignore those nasty comments! What you put together was simply superb! As my great grandma would put it, you're an old soul in a young body. Those idiots who send negativity your way are just jealous. They don't have anything better to do with themselves. Continue making your excellent video, you have more fans out there than haters!

  • @1957thunderbird312

Most negative feed back is probably from democrats, afrikans, and other such riff raff. Carry on, sir.

  • whats that song?

  • its "dont sit under the apple tree" by the andrew sisters!

  • The 40's and the Andrews Sisters. Wow! That's when I grew up and it was great!! I miss it terribly!!

  • if u like i could do some bing crosby with the andrew sisters for my next video

  • Yes, that would be fantastic! I'm gathering as much Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters as I can find (separate and together). Thanks!!

  • me too, and tBird, never mind those negative comments, you are superb....

  • wow,love it!
