It's normal, it has to do with his race, I think. I know it looks like he's blind from that eye, but it's just the way his eyes are.

They appear to be smiling, but in fact this is what we call the flehmen response or "stinky tiger face" The cats are actually passing air over their jacobson's organ which can detect smells etc.. with a lot of accuracy.
