Wow as a Billy Satellite fan (okay groupie!) from back in the days of the Lucky Lion, I'm thrilled to hear something from them I hadn't heard before. BTW sorry about the acct name, this is my sons acct
Great post....Monty Byrom is a great songwriter and vocalist.....Really sucks when a label shelves finished product.....the rock and roll highway is littered with the wreckage of brilliant bands screwed over by bad record company decisions.....
These guys always come up when I am asked about my favorite bands. And I always get the same response..... "who?"..... I'll never understand why they didn't become "bigger"...... I did enjoy hearing this song for the first time..... Got any more?
@filmguymike Thanks, Michael, I put my email addy in my youtube profile or I'm on facebook. It was cool seeing some of the footage from Lions, I shot a lot of bands there back in the day. Not sure how much of it survived a house fire we had 7 years ago. Eddie Money introduced us, I probably shot some footage of Monty jamming with Eddie at his old house. I'll have to dig around and see what I still have. Did you guys make a documentary? Monty looks just the same, just less hair! ;)
I made this video for Billy Satellite while they were working on their second album, I haven't seen it in over 20 years! The second album rocked, I wore out 2 or 3 cassette tapes of it. Capital really screwed the boys and the fans not releasing it. I also shot the live shows posted on here and more. Would love to get in touch with Monty again. - Dan Chase
Their only album was great- i still listen to it quite often. Wish this song and any others they recorded for the second album would be released someday.
*switch irony mode on*who needs bands like this as long as we are blessed with fantastic examples of original craftsmanship like Lady Gaga? *switch irony mode off*
I have the Album they did back in 1985 "yes Album" it rocks Bye Bye,Trouble,Satisfy Me, and of course I wanna go back, that Eddie Money made a hit even though Satelite version much better, glad to know Im not the only one still listening to Billy Satelie they had the potential to be legendary
Billy Satellite rocked back in 1984 during the summer of '84 after high school!
