  • @wampabutt When this was filmed, he was the understudy. The Corny understudies were usually the actors who played Brad, Fender, or Sketch. Michael was a FANTASTIC Corny, nevertheless.

  • this is actually probably the only broadway show i liked better as a movie. im not saying the play itself isn't good--its amazing! but adam shankman is just an amazing director, he really did a good job with the movie.

    but of course the comedy is always better live.

  • He plays Corny Collins in the video. He normally played Brad and was the understudy for Corny when Jonathan Dokuchitz was still in the cast. He filled in as Corny for a few weeks after Jonathan left and right before Lance Bass joined the cast.

  • Michelle Dowdy ROCKS!!!! I know her personally because she graduated from my high school and i was with her at her graduation practice when she got the call for being the U/S of "Tracy". She came up to the podium and was laughing and crying and said she was the understudy of "Tracy" on broadway. The entire theatre went NUTS!!!! She's cool.

    BTW, i LOOOOVE this song. Thanks for posting it. I love how tracy says "Miss it" when she first runs on in this video.

  • Wow. I cannot believe how so many people dislike John Pinette as Edna. Aside from Harvey, John is the most universally best-loved Edna that Broadway has ever seen. The man is hilarious. I also cannot believe the comments that he looks/sounds like a man. Apart from nearly every other Edna who has played the part, John has confused audiences the most ("Is that a man or a woman?"). He was really incredible.
