Not that I noticed. But the sound of the K&N put a grin on my face so much that it was one of my favorite mods. If you want more power, get an Accessport (which was my 1st favorite mod :0)

Does it make the BPV sound everytime you SHIFT only, or EVERY single time you let off the gass? If it was the latter, does it ever get annoying?

Usually only when you're heavy on the gas and shift. If you're just cruising and driving normally, you don't really hear it.

I see, so it depends on how heavy your foot is. But still, I'm not clear on my initial question, does the BPV go off everytime you SHIFT, or everytime you let off the gass?

I think it really depends on if you are hitting some kind of boost when you let go of the gas. If you are in the positive side even @ 1 psi, you would hear the BOV working. If you don't heavy foot and drive your car mostly on the vaccum side, it shouldn't make such big noise. Just my thoughs on it.
