I love them....never got to see jerry and hear thr rainbows played from his guitar tho...kinda makes me sad I shoulda listened to my uncle way bak when but I was too busy stereo typing a dirty community that I now call family....nfa
Damn...the best R&R band of may generation.....RS can take a back seat to these guys....nobody does insane. spur of the moment R&R like these dudes....it's here....enjoy the best sound of American Rock and Roll....no one comes close.
I'm sorry;...wrote my 1st comment before listening to the whole tune....whole friggen' smokes....this is the best rock an d roll tune of all time. Nothing better, Garcia is unbelievable. Fact is, the whole band is better than Skull and Roses here.......that is saying something.
SOOOOO many trips in the park......., The arboretum glows at night and the park takes on a new life. Miss you JERRY----------miss the HAIGHT---- stuck in Mo.
Miss the sea w/ Brokedown Palace playing on walkman------ gettin' totally "wracked"
Oh how I love the DEAD. Listen to thier music from the beginnings to the ends. More of a JGB guy, but this one reminds of the small roots that have sprung into all of us believers. To be a believer watch Grateful Dawg.
Not the best version the Dead ever did if this song ........ but the pics remind me WHY this is MY PARK in MY TOWN and how beautiful San Francisco can be
I visited San Francisco for the first time in 02' when The Other Ones played two nights at the Kaiser Arena in Oakland. I hung out in San Francisco for a couple weeks until I had to head back home to Indiana. Never got to realy see the park that much, but I hope I get to got back soon and see so much more of such a beautiful city. Cheers!
Now that probably one of the best sentiments that I've seen in a while! Even though you wrote this 7 months ago, I hope that the glow is still holding!
Jerry is in time with the rest of the band....He's in a Zone on his one! goin down the road feelin bad, isn't really that bad!
Maybe I could get help from a fellow deadhead: I'm lookin for a NFA>GDTRFB>NFA from i'd say 74-77. It's time signature is 4/4, very fast! I heard on Sirius yesterday! Id love 2 know what show that was from. any help on the way?
Maybe your question has been answered by now, but Dicks picks 2 has an absolutely scorching nfa-gdtrfb-nfa. It's '71 but if you don't have it it's worth finding...I've literally found myself head banging to it more then once it's so flying intense....Hope this helps...dead forever.
I'm not sure but it might be Winterland 02-24-74. Great concert, huge sprawling show with the entire Weather Report Suite, a powerful Morning Dew (as always), and a rocking final medley. It's All Over Now Baby Blue as the encore puts the icing on the cake.
i just took a hit off my bowl and it tasted like eggs and bacon

Alman Bros do an infinitely better version. Better than this droll jam crap. Woody would puke if heard this song devoid of it soul.

@kevinmcg76 devoid of soul? seriously? listen again, my friend, and have a Grateful Day!
MsTruthMatters 9 months ago 3
@kevinmcg76 if you want to talk soul then there isn't anybody that comes close to matching what Jerry had.

Interesting how '75 was a year of little Dead activity, yet they never sounded better!

@gritzah 1975 was my favorite year for this band!

This is a great rendition (maybe my new personal-fave) of one of my most favoritest, and a superclean recording -- and the slideshow's great.
(Is that you holding up the tree 5:47-6:25?)
Thank you so much, danielmagan, for doing all this.
THIS is why the Dead will never really die....

salforddude 2 years ago 47
kind of ironic a band called Grateful Dead remins you of the pleasure of being alive :)

There's a reason for that! Google 'Grateful Dead folklore' and start reading.
