This really happened. The mans name was Tuvia Bielski and was born the second oldest to a family of about 18. He grew up a very stuborn man and got the idea of running into the Forrest from russian partisans. The book is by a woman by the last name of Tec. Don't remember her first name though.

This is one of those movies that is very well acted, moderately directed and moderately written... but the story itself is so powerful and compelling that you would really be missing out if you didn't see it.

The biggest "battle" Bielski's ever fought was against the village of Naliboki - on the 8th of May 1943 they massacred almost 130 elderly men, woman and children, for the starving people's refusal of giving them their food. In the film you see the Bielski's disabling a German panzer. Fuck! They never fought any German's, just used to kill other Polish partisans. Another lie is that the Polish A.K. didn't accept Jews. There were thousands of them there. How can you people believe such bullcraps?

This really happened. The mans name was Tuvia Bielski and was born the second oldest to a family of about 18. He grew up a very stuborn man and got the idea of running into the Forrest from russian partisans. The book is by a woman by the last name of Tec. Don't remember her first name though.

The first tim i saw the movie it moved me and I could relate. Not to the jewish movement but to the hidden fights we battle against. And the more that I watched it the more details I realized and the subtle insults that are within. Like we are all just a bunch or crazies. And when you have a group of people that you continually communicate insults to through subtle craft you get away with making them appear crazy.
