  • Can someone please tell me what the name of the song with the saxophone part is in the movie? The part where he goes with the mustache guy only to see him dancing with another girl and he hooks up with a guy with glasses. Thanks

  • Saw it yesterday. It's absolutely stunning.

  • one of the best movies he should of won the oscar he was nominated he had to play a serial killer in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MAN to get the guilty Oscar award..i CANT COUNT how many times Ive watched it and played it for people the poem at the end slays me I carry it around with me..I collect Rinaldo Arean's books he was an amazing person no matter what he never gave in and remained true to himself and he paid alot of heavy prices for it

  • what's the name of the first song?

The trumpet playing is very nice

  • This is truly one of the best films (if not the bext) I've ever seen. From the opening scene until the end, there is not a weak moment in the film. Bardem is fantastic.

  • i wanna see that movie

  • what is this song?

  • i loved this movie! but i have difficulties understanding their accent... i just wish they would stop making movies where you have ppl talk in some foreign accent like that... such accent doesn`t make them any more foreign, or are they trying to tell us something about foreigners?

seriously tho, either make it the actual language or proper native speaker english, `cause we already get it from the story: they spoke spanish!

and i just can`t find the script anywhere! can anyone help?

  • @nishtabre the main actor has an accent...so it's a little hard to avoid lol, but i agree... why do Russians have Russian accents in espionage movies? what's the point of the accent?

  • @nishtabre well there cuban in the movie and in real life Javier doesnt sound that much different or Olvier M artinez whos SPAINSH French....at least its not like one of those old hollywood jesus bilbe epics were everyones got a british accent..except in Temptation of the Christ with William Defoe they all sould like there from New Yawk and Brooklyn .. I love that!

How can you not understand they speak clearly use the subtitles on the DVD or your TV...

  • I really didn't understand the preview very well. Some of you are saying this is worth watching though so I am going to rent it.

  • I WANNA SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! :D

  • best best besttttttttt movie i've ever seen!

  • This trailer tries SOOOO hard to cover up the homosexuality in this film. It's hilarious and depressing at the same time.

  • @jpastuch being a homo should be already enough depressing for u, lol

  • Why is this movie in English? Kills the whole atmosphere of Cuba. Arenas was a Spanish writer, he wrote in Spanish. What's the obsession with appealing only to American or European audiences? Read the book instead.

  • I really feel this is the best film I have seen in my 50+ years. Extremely beautiful and moving, a wonderful portrait of all the wonderful and teriible aspects of humanity.

  • Cómo se llama en español?

  • wonderful movie !

  • HAS ANYONE READ THE SHITTY ASS BOOK IT WAS BASED OFF OF???

  • @thebutlerofdoom I saw the movie and was looking for the book at Chapters-it's hard to get. What makes the book so shitty? should I pass on it? Thanks ,

  • @2MrGrumpy In all honesty its a great book if you'd like to learn about Cuba and the horrible conditions under the Communist regime, i must warn you however that every other page (no exaggeration) contains unbelievably graphic, vivid, oftentimes disturbing sexual content. Not just man-woman or man-man but orgies and bestiality in very (for lack of better description) gruesome detail, the amount of this content (including incest, and the aforementioned bestiality) has turned me off of the book

  • @thebutlerofdoom Yes, I read the book. It's the story of a man fighting for freedom. If that's shitty then so is your brain.

  • @andruchina good, mature response! idk if you actually read my previous comments and replies but I recognize the book as an important story to be told AND I also stated why I was soooo turned off by the book

  • Wow this film looks really good, deffo gotta make sure i watch this :D

  • When I first watched this movie, meaning a little while ago, I got the odd but good feeling this movie will change my life in one way. It didn't, but it let a big trace on my heart and mind... still if it's to talk about changing, a change is simply only a way to leave traces.

  • Uglynonadonis You do know the cold war is over? right? If we wanted to take over the world we would have attacked USSR right after WW2 when they were still weak and Patton asked for it. We had nukes when no one else did. We could have taken over the world easily. most of europe was destroyed, Japan was an ash trey, China was recovering from being invaded, U.S. had no damage and productivity was skyrocketing. Like I said critical thinking is not your strong point.

  • @jsh78mang You live in America, you haven't seen anything yet.

There are good wars and bad wars, and of course every war will bring death. But you think there's only bad wars. You lack substantial knowledge 'coz all you do is to think. You need to read a lot of books out there. You need to read, think and analyze to acquire knowledge. I'm really tired of "superficial thoughts". The more I talk to you the more convinced I am that you are an asshole. Goodbye asshole. Enjoy your life while you can.

  • @Uglyadonis I don't think there are good wars and bad wars but all wars have casualties. That's why they should not be fought unless they have to. While I can....Really, you think I'm worried about a closet terrorist like yourself. You may think everyone in this country is a fat lazy idiot but trust me you'll be suprised . I have my shit very much in order for most problems that arise. I"m also not the only one. Bring it and you'll get buried where you stand little boy.

  • @Uglyadonis First your from India now Sao Tome. Make up your mind you half witt. Troll much?

  • Carlos Machado was 15 years old in 1963 when the bullets from the firing squad shattered his body. His twin brother and father collapsed beside Carlos from the same volley. All had resisted Castro and Che’s theft of their humble family farm. Is that a good reason to kill someone" for the people". Seems to me Che got what he deserved when, without trial, he faced a firing squad. Karmas a bitch.

  • johnny depp makes a pretty girl!!!!!!! wowsa lmao

  • ≈ one of the best films ever ≈

  • I found this gem on netflicks still waiting to watch it. Then good movies like this get buried by B.S. movies like motorcycle diaries.Che gets multiple movies, his image on shirts Etc. Yeah Che was a swell guy who hated blacks, gays, Rock and Jazz and murdered people. Arenas was an artist in his own right and he gets a little known B (tho i hear well done) movie. B.S.

  • @jsh78mang finally someone knows and understands that Che should not be idolized! my family is Cuban and they know what he has done in the name of "Cuba."

  • @YourOasis97 TY , yes there are still some people out there with a little common sense left.

  • @jsh78mang and sadly i saw johnny wearing a Che patch on the a shirt sleeve in a photo. but i blame ignorance for that?

  • @YourOasis97 ignorance and marketing. The funny thing is that if he were still alive he would not want his picture so mass produced. He hated capitalism. LOL

  • @jsh78mang very true. and he helped murder innocent people. what a hero.

  • @YourOasis97 Yeah that in itself is reason not to like the guy. Even the people that wanted a revolution, if not on "His" and Castros side met a bad ending in front of a firing squad. If some of these idiots read some books they would find out the guy killed a lot of them himself young old male or female.

  • @jsh78mang hey asshole hu da fuck told u dat che hated blacks??assholes lyk u tlk shit without knowing nething....go read sum books...

  • @Uglyadonis He did You nube. So much for me not reading but hey that's what your for. You want to comment on me not reading as if I'm stupid yet you can not form a proper sentence or even spell right. HINT: ebonics not a real language that is just the white man allowing you to be that stupid. Go ahead fail for the white man.

  • @jsh78mang If he hated blacks why the fuck would he go to Congo to liberate them? Go fuck your horse

  • @Uglyadonis He was trying to change the world to suite his ideology and just like everyone else whom tries he failed miserably. He was trying to take advantage of a situation from a military and political stand point......They didn't teach you critical thinking where you come from did they?

  • @Uglyadonis Quote from the horses ass if you will:

“We’re going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the revolution. By which I mean: nothing.” -Che Guevera

“The ***** is indolent and lazy, and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent.”- Che Guevara

  • @jsh78mang Guevara's friend and personal bodyguard, who accompanied him at all times after 1959, was Harry "Pombo" Villegas, who was black. Pombo accompanied Guevara to the Congo and to Bolivia, where he survived and now lives in Cuba. Of note, Pombo speaks glowingly of Guevara to this day

  • @Uglyadonis Funny "pombo" looks like a dark skinned Cuban not african. Nice spin tho.

  • @jsh78mang When Guevara spoke before the U.N. in 1964, he spoke out in favor of black musician Paul Robeson, in support of slain black leader Patrice Lumumba (who he heralded as one of his heroes[citation needed] ), against white segregation in the Southern U.S., and against the white South African apartheid regime.

  • @Uglyadonis Robeson was a spiritual singer Che still thought rock and jazz were evil music and still tried to ban them in his home country. Also he still said what he did about blacks being lazy and drunks. No amount of spin you can try could cover that up. Nice job tho, have you thought about applying to MSNBC Or Fox?

  • @jsh78mang It was 1952, he was just 24 when he penned down in his diary about blacks being lazy and all.... but it doesn't make him a racist. Maybe he was looking at it from the cultural point of view.

  • @Uglyadonis Rigoberto Hernandez was 17 when Che’s soldiers dragged him from his cell in La Cabana.“Rigo” pleaded his innocence to the very bloody end. But his pleas were garbled and difficult to understand even if he were not bound and gagged. The boy had been a janitor in a Havana high school and was mentally retarded. Che thought he was a CIA Operative planting bombs. inhumane much?

  • @Uglyadonis The conversation was how shitty Che is. Don't get mad because your "hero" is a bucket of epic fails. Most hero's are. Fact is in his life he discriminated people who were gay, black, mentaly challenged, or believed in a diffrent political or finacial system then he did. These are not reasons to hate or kill people. The man was a monster. No country is an angel. Not mine not yours or anybodies. The one that claims it is is lying.

  • @jsh78mang You really are an asshole. I just said that Che was no racist. This is what the conversation is about. I accept that he discriminated some groups of people and might have even killed them, but the important fact is he killed mainly the people working for the US authority. And during his days gays were discriminated everywhere in the world, not just Cuba.

  • @jsh78mang Che was a leader who freed Cuba from capitalism and American imperialism. There are no heroes in the real world.

Look, lets not get carried away alright. I just said that he was not a racist. And you're getting the idea that he was one just because of a note in his diary. I don't know what he might have been thinking when he wrote it, but why the fuck would he go to Congo to fight for the black people if he was a racist?

Even Nelson Mandela praised him for his actions in Africa.

  • @Uglyadonis He said what he said. Why go to the congo. Critical thinking is lost to you. They were already screwed up and in the middle of a revolution he stuck his dime in the slot because he wanted followers and thought he could gain that and political clout. He was dissapointed with cuba and USSR for not starting WW3 and killing most people on this planet over his broken stupid ideology.

  • @jsh78mang As for Mendela (another of those heros we are talking about). With his lack luster performance and mental problems Che killed more Congonese then he tried to save. You can not refute that in the process of "freeing " He stepped on peoples rights imprisoned gay and mentaly challenge for no other reason then being what they are. He also killed women and children. The man had no reguard to life at all what makes you think he would care about not being a racist as well.

  • @jsh78mang So I guess, to you, every leader is an asshole just like you. Who do you like by the way? And you know what I would love to be a part of WW3 if its between the leftists and the rightists. And I would be fighting for the leftist of course. But I don't think the time is ripe at present. There will come more revolutions in this world. And at the end the masses will rise against the corrupted authorities - that will be the introduction of WW3.

  • @Uglyadonis I'm man asshole because I don't approve of murdering innocent people? Guess so. Every leader. sounds right I don't trust people with to much power but only because most like to abuse it. You would love to be part of WW3? That just shows how immature and stupid you truely are. You think it will be right Vs. left what are you 12. Things are so bad for you you wish death on billions of innocent people and the end of the world as we know it .I think you've said enough little boy go away.

  • Comment removed

  • @jsh78mang @jsh78mang You should've said that you didn't like leaders at the very beginning. That's your problem and there's no solution 'coz leaders will keep coming, whether bad or good.

Innocents will die in a war. Its the price. But then war will be the price for what the US is trying to do - dominating the world. You only think about people dying in war but you don't think about the need of it. You only know how to think that Che killed innocents, but not about what he has done for Cuba.

  • @Uglyadonis No shit tell me somethingI don't know, but it is what we have for now. A wise man once said "There are no problems just answers you just have to look hard enough." Ignorance will dictate to fight first. Again no shit people die in war that's why we as a civilized people should stay away and only use it as a last resort. Here you are assuming the U.S. is trying to take over the world. Little boy if we were you'd know.

  • @Uglyadonis What has he done for Cuba. I know what he hasn't. There have got to be some pretty good reasons why people will float across the shark infested area between U.S. and Cuba. If they were truely that happy there why do they keep doing it? Your jaded and can not begin to see things outside your perfect little box.

  • @jsh78mang The cold war was between the left and the right, so its not immature to think that one day a WW will break off between them. It is in fact inevitable.

  • @Uglyadonis Wrong neither side wants it because we both know how it will end. Why do you think it has been so long from the end of the last one? Inevitable maybe but only because of war mongers like your self. There are better solutions....Believe it or not.

  • @jsh78mang Things may not be that bad at present (thats why I said "time is not ripe" at present for a world war) but its worse than you think. If u're from a developed nation then u may not hav seen enough. Or maybe u're too scared and ignorant and u just wanna get on with your wonderful life. Well thats fine enjoy your life. But wars will come whether you like it or not. Its a price to pay for our ignorance

If you think I'm being immature then u just don't know shit. Thats why u need to read.

  • @Uglyadonis Not ripe yet? I'm sure your in with all the leaders of every gov and they rely on you for your knowledge. (HUGE sarcasim) I 'll tell you what I do know. After WW3 Raiders and other large groups will rape, kill, and pillage at will, You'll be lucky to be able to grow mutated fruit. Human will be the other white meat. Billions of people will die. Oh and your situation no matter how bad you think it is now Will be a hell of a lot worst. My ignorance, Again Grow up.

  • @jsh78mang I come from a place where a revolution has been taking place for about 50 years. And the reason why its still happening is because there's lack of commitment and unity with corruption breeding out of it. And common man is caught between the so called revolutionaries, the military and the authority. My country is doing to my community what the US govt had been doing to Cuba - Rule and Suppress, with their ultimate divide and rule policy. Thats why we need someone more or less like Che.

  • @Uglyadonis Be careful what you ask for. You may just get that type of person and it may not be what you would like. Che killed everyone who was not on his page all the way. Men women and children over half of whom were innocent or not "The Enemy".

  • @jsh78mang you've obviously done your homework-I was in Cuba last year-what an amazing experience, so much so that I'm still immersed in the whole story of everything that went on in her history. I'm with you re Che-I'm amazed at the entertainment industry celebs that sport his image on their clothes and skin without the faintest idea of the whole story of a young idealist who became just another Latin American thug.......

  • @2MrGrumpy TY I try to see things from every angle. To bad for the Che supporters that Castro just let the cat out of the bag on this one. Publicly stating that he is sorry for what he and Che did to the Gays of Cuba. Forcing them into prison work camps until they died. He also said that Communism(not socialism) is failing Cuba Maybe soon we can all argue over Che while smoking some Cuban cigars.

  • @jsh78mang In 1964, before the UN, Guevara denounced the US policy towards their black population, stating:

"Those who kill their own children and discriminate daily against them because of the color of their skin; those who let the murderers of blacks remain free, protecting them, and furthermore punishing the black population because they demand their legitimate rights as free men — how can those who do this consider themselves guardians of freedom?"

  • I can't find this movie any where! can some one tell me where I can watch it?

  • this is the worst trailer for a great movie.

  • I allways wanted to know, who is that "voice" guy on almost every trailer? :)

  • Someone who earns a fucking lot of money.

  • @88chemical88 don lafontaine- he's the traile voice legend...pablo francisco (a comedian) does a very good job at imitating him :)

  • @tutuvo07

wooow, Thaaanks man.. I love you :D

  • @88chemical88 you looked him up?

  • @tutuvo07 yea :D

  • @88chemical88 sweet, btw i'm not a man lol my username appears masculine i guess

  • Has anyone heard about the operatic adaptation of Before Night Falls?

  • Really really want to see this movie!!

  • I wish this movie could've capture the powerful art of Reinaldo Arenas. And why is this movie in English? Why are we always trying to appeal to an American audience? "Here, here, there's a little writer from Cuba that you might like". It annoys me. He wrote in Spanish, language was his life and his escape and I wish they would've respected that.

  • Love this movie. It has a lot of flaws, I think, but it's like a warm blanket whenever I watch it. So comforting, I revisit it once a year. Just great.

  • And I hate ignorants and idiots like yourself!

  • "People that make art are dangerous"

    Great movie....

  • Just splendid!

  • about a cuban writer

  • thanks for showing..5*

  • sale diego luna?

ay bueno, a mi solo m intereza johnny depp y javier bardem sta muy guapo... bueno, estaba xD

  • NO WAY!

Johnny Depp and Sean Penn are in this movie!

    XD

  • He looks good with black hair but I prefer Barden with his natural light hair! I think they try to make him look more latino!

  • well he's portraying a cuban poet and novelist here..

  • I was told the book is more sexually charged than the movie, which is also heavy on the matter. But imagine, it was part of the man's life, who he was, it's what was happening, it must be there. However, this is about more than a gay man's promiscuous sex life. He was a man alone in life, a writer, and had a strong political stance against the cancerous communists that made his life, and Cuba, a nightmare; and ultimately, left Cubans without a nation.

  • @brunettechocha This essay gets an A +

  • xD too fun !!

    ur so silly 66

  • wat the fuck is with the narrator.

kills what look's like a great film

  • Exactly! It's like he's announcing the new Rocky movie or something; very ignorant!

  • Everything about this movie is simply breath taking. Superb acting, heartwrenching story, beautiful scenery, fantastic sound track. I could watch this over and over and never tire of it. It is in my top 10 list of favorites.

  • @davidshep45 any idea where I can find the entire movie? thanks...

  • I wish tha narrator wouldn't say those used boring and cheap sentences. I start to vomit listening an american style trailer.

The Beauty that is in the movie. Javier Bardem is great, and you can find Diego Luna too. Wonderful music and pictures.

  • Where is Diego Luna?

    I can't find him here...

  • Ciao Jojo!

Diego is in the beginig of the film. He's the friend of the young Reinaldo. He has only a few scenes.

I'd like to learn portugal. I lived 2 years in Brasil when I was very young and I forgot this wonderful language.

  • Thanks!

    That means a lot! :')

    I'm Portuguese!

Most people say Portugal sucks :(

  • @faubin1984 "ah man, fuck the US dude, god I hate that place, everything from there is shit"

well dude, I'm not even from there, and I still think cinema wouldn't be nearly what it is today without the US

  • Such an amazing and thought-provoking film! Truly one of the greats!

  • one of the best movies ever
