3. i can assure you that alternate picking does not 'throw in a bit of individulaity'. I would not listen to this cover and know whose cover it was from the alternate picking, cuz a lot of ppl do this..

No, that is part of Big Sur Moon. However, it's highly based from a figure in Paul Gilberts "Echo Song". Buckethead occasionally makes similar riffs to Paul Gilberts because he's Buck's teacher. Their shred patterns are also similiar.

use delay so an 8th note is a 16th and use a little chorus flange, thats my settings and its pretty damn close, but just mess around and youll get it eventually.....

I use these settings with one of the delays in my pod farm:

Time: 300 ms

Feedback: Doesn't matter but i usually put that on 0.

Mix: 50% so that the folowing note is as loud as the "original"

They way you set Spider IIIs is.....sell it. I have a 30w L6 Spider III and the thing is garbage. It's a very "beginneresque" amp. Grab a cheap Marshall or Fender amp, you'll appreciate the sound a lot more.

My tempo was set to 156 bmp, which is almost like Buckethead's studio take.

It probably just sounds that way because my delay wasn't set exactly to the tempo.
