Once, while he had previously supported 10 other bills and has since voted in favor of more legislation in support of the troops. McCain has also voted against some bills and while it is true that Biden didn't agree with the decision to vote against that one bill he nevertheless not only considers Obama ready to lead but says Obama will be a better Commander in Chief than McCain. Mccain distorts reality by only presenting part of the record and selectively quoting Biden.

In a broader sense it is true that Biden's comments can apply to anyone who voted against funding for the troops. Which McCain has done more than once. This ad is incredibly misleading. Obama voted against a GOP bill in favor of a Dem bill that funded the troops AND gave a non-binding timetable for troop withdrawal. He had also voted 10 times for troop funding prior to that bill.

He is distorting Obama's voting record and fails to mentions his own. That is lying by ommission.
Biden and Obama disagreed on that one bill but agree on who will be the better leader. Obama. McCain selectively quotes Biden and attaches a conclusion to the ad which doesn't follow from the material presented. If you follow the same faulty reasoning the ad disqualifies McCain for a leadership position as well because McCain has in the past also voted against some funding bills.

This ad is factual.
If you believe it is an attack ad it's only because you also believe Obama did something shameful or worthy of being attacked. Obama voted the way he voted for a reason. For the life of me, I don't know what that reason would be but that's how he voted and that's what the ad's about.
Obama should feel no shame or regret in his vote if he did in fact feel it was the right thing to do. After all, at least he didn't just vote "present."

The truth is, McCain knows he can't win anymore.His attack ads are getting progressively more desperate and pathetic. Independent and undecided voters are going to Obama after two debates. Obama's sitting at 250 to McCain's 189 for electoral votes. We need 270 to win. McCain would have to miraculously win 81 of the remaining 99 electoral votes. He may have started doing it in the beginning of the election, but now McCain starts to retaliate amidst an economic catastrophe. Why? Because he's behind in the polls and doesn't really care about the American people. Do you honestly think that people are going to pay attention to McCain's ads, doubt it. Then he runs back to Washington to ask Bush what to do, and avoids questions he does not know the answers to. Then he cancels the debate for the deal, but goes anyway. In the end he votes to give 700 Billion Dollars to the guys who created the mess in the first place.

Once, while he had previously supported 10 other bills and has since voted in favor of more legislation in support of the troops. McCain has also voted against some bills and while it is true that Biden didn't agree with the decision to vote against that one bill he nevertheless not only considers Obama ready to lead but says Obama will be a better Commander in Chief than McCain. Mccain distorts reality by only presenting part of the record and selectively quoting Biden.

Seriously, Biden on Meet the Press (9/9/07) may have been refering to McCain on that comment "cutting off support", but the commercial may have cut off the beginning where he may have said something along the lines of McCain cutting off support for the troops. After all, he never votes for the best intrests for our veterens, there are records of that.

In a broader sense it is true that Biden's comments can apply to anyone who voted against funding for the troops. Which McCain has done more than once. Both times Biden is literally talking about all his rivals for the presidential nomination in the Democratic Party who voted against this one funding bill. That part is true. Obama has voted in favor of funding for the troops many other times. Biden has also said that Obama will be a better leader. The lie in the ad is in the omissions.

This ad is incredibly misleading. Obama voted against a GOP bill in favor of a Dem bill that funded the troops AND gave a non-binding timetable for troop withdrawal. He had also voted 10 times for troop funding prior to that bill.

He is distorting Obama's voting record and fails to mentions his own. That is lying by ommission.
Biden and Obama disagreed on that one bill but agree on who will be the better leader. Obama. McCain selectively quotes Biden and attaches a conclusion to the ad which doesn't follow from the material presented. If you follow the same faulty reasoning the ad disqualifies McCain for a leadership position as well because McCain has in the past also voted against some funding bills.

Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.
Jopek criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.
"I don't understand how people can take that and turn it into some garbage on the Internet," she said.

Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet.
