  • Ich wuchs in Friedensburg/Ole Pennsylvania, in Berks Landkreis. Mein Grossvater, und Grossmutter habe das akzent es ist sehr schwer, und germanischen.

  • This was the Pennsylvania Dutch accent I remember hearing when we would visit Kutztown Berks County in the 1960s.

    The accent is thinner nowadays, except among the oldtimers and some farming familys.

    Just for fun, I still pronounce out "awt" and just, "chust."

    "Vell, I must go for a Coke, once. Say ya wanna come. Say?"
