This is true. A good case however of a T-55 attack is the Syrians fight Israel. The MiG-35 is a beautiful aircraft, and Serbia could use the upgrade. I have reviewed the performance of the MiG-29 in Serbia and I consider the losses unfortunate, the 29 has more then the capability to take out the F-16. But as you said, American sanctions. In Canada the military is not a popular thing. We have been drastically cut back.

As for you *modern* tanks, I refer you to any instance of T-72 combat against real Western armor. And T-55s aren't even worth noting, they are highly outclassed by today's standards. @Derpistanian T-72 tanks are modernised. Russian tanks are lighter and faster. And Serbian M-84 (242 pieces) is tank with perfect aiming system and one of fastest. But any-way.Serbia is covered by woods and high mountains,so T-55 can be used,its not like in Libya in which you cant hide a single tank. T-55TZL has active armour and better aiming system.NATO ground attacks are used by few tanks and few squads of soldiers,they cant do a shit,when 80 T-55 tanks come to them with 30 000 soldiers.
@3SRBIJACCCC I'll refer you to an attack made by T-55's on Dutch Leopard 2's, in which the Leopard tank was strike multiple times from all angles by Serbian T-55's and received no damage. As for the hiding tactic, the Iraqi's played that very same card with the same tank. This isn't a case of superiority through tactics and equipment, this is a case of absolute domination in all fields.

And a modern military is going to defeat a military equipped with Soviet era equipment every time. Even if our army was 19 thousand strong, the odds are highly in our favor due to our better training, equipment, morale, experience, tactics and education.

As for your *special forces*, search for Joint Task Force 2. I do have respect for Zastava arms however, but as for this academy in Belgrade I have not heard of it.

This is true. A good case however of a T-55 attack is the Syrians fight Israel. The MiG-35 is a beautiful aircraft, and Serbia could use the upgrade. I have reviewed the performance of the MiG-29 in Serbia and I consider the losses unfortunate, the 29 has more then the capability to take out the F-16. But as you said, American sanctions. In Canada the military is not a popular thing. We have been drastically cut back.

As for attacks in such a manner, the time needed to prepare for such a maneuver would not be granted by an attacking force utilizing the tactics of today. It's short period of independence is similar to that during the 1920's. All it would take is one destabilizing factor to throw everything apart. Look at Georgia as an example. Wikipedia list didn't put reserves,which are very important to every post-communist country. @3SRBIJACCCC According to Jane's you mean. And a conscript reserve force of 100 000 or so troops is not going to stop anything. As for you *modern* tanks, I refer you to any instance of T-72 combat against real Western armor. And T-55s aren't even worth noting, they are highly outclassed by today's standards. You need to factor that into your equation. Basically you have 212 half-modern pieces of armor.

@Derpistanian T-72 tanks are modernised. Russian tanks are lighter and faster. And Serbian M-84 (242 pieces) is tank with perfect aiming system and one of fastest. But any-way.Serbia is covered by woods and high mountains,so T-55 can be used,its not like in Libya in which you cant hide a single tank. T-55TZL has active armour and better aiming system.NATO ground attacks are used by few tanks and few squads of soldiers,they cant do a shit,when 80 T-55 tanks come to them with 30 000 soldiers.

@3SRBIJACCCC I'll refer you to an attack made by T-55's on Dutch Leopard 2's, in which the Leopard tank was strike multiple times from all angles by Serbian T-55's and received no damage. As for the hiding tactic, the Iraqi's played that very same card with the same tank. This isn't a case of superiority through tactics and equipment, this is a case of absolute domination in all fields.

@Derpistanian I guess that tank battle happened in Bosnia. I don't deny that T-55 tank is weaker than new tanks, but it can be still very used in big numbers on massive charges supported by air-force and altilery. Tactic and bravery wins the war not modernity of the weapon.

@3SRBIJACCCC as a member of the Canadian armed forces I promise you, we are fielding a military of 90 + thousand troops of all branches. And a modern military is going to defeat a military equipped with Soviet era equipment every time. Even if our army was 19 thousand strong, the odds are highly in our favor due to our better training, equipment, morale, experience, tactics and education.

@Derpistanian And what tells you that Serbian training is not modern? Or weapons? Serbia is the biggest weapon exporter in South-East Europe. We produce almost everything,and what we don't produce,we get it from Russia. An entire NATO camps were deleted by our special forces in Albania in 1999. Entire Serbian male population 17-55 is trained. along with professional soldiers, and with one of most respectable military academies in the world in Belgrade,Canada could do nothing to Serbia.

@3SRBIJACCCC utilizing the out of date AK-47 copy, the M70, and working an up to date variant of the R4, the M21. These weapons are not as capable as the C7A2. As for your *special forces*, search for Joint Task Force 2. The problem with a conscripted military is it's inability to retain a level of training that is up to par with that of the professional army. I do have respect for Zastava arms however, but as for this academy in Belgrade I have not heard of it.

@Derpistanian Serbian army will never send 15 recruits on you with Ak-47 and one T-55. It is kept "old good "communist way. Being bombed by napal bombs from the air,than massive artillery from rocket launchers and than thousends and thousends soldiers will come hiding behind tanks and other armours.I am 21 so i served army, and we have a lot of military practices in which this tactic is prepared. Its unstoppable. Unless Americans drop a nuke,they like to do that on a strong enemy.
