I remember this...I had a brown and white one my friend got for me. I opened the box and I got one puppy. In short, I was pissed. I returned it to her. -:(

My mom was pregnant with me when this commercial came out. My older brothers and my dad decided to torture my mom with this commercial by singing "Mommy surprise, mommy surprise, how many babies are there inside? There could be 3 or 4 or 5!" :D

I know this is totally weird but when I was around 7, I wanted this toy SO BAD... I wrote a list to santa saying that puppy surprise was on the top of my list... so christmas day, I got it and pulled out 4 puppies and then the fun was over... later my mom spilled the beans about Santa by saying, "I got you that puppy surprise and you didn't even like it" That was devastating lol.

I got t the pink one for Christmas when I was 5. I was so bummed when I only got three puppies, because with the promise of "or three or four or more," I was sure I'd get, like at LEAST 5. Linseypdxda, yes, they do make a newer version of this toy. It isn't very cute, like the vintage ones though. I'd check eBay for vintage ones (they pop up sometimes). Just make sure you're getting one with all it's babies!

I still have all of my puppy (I also have the cats, bears, and horses) surprise babies...only some of the moms. Some of them had their eyes open, some closed, and some were supposed to be the runt of the litter, so they were smaller than the rest. I loved these toys so much.

My puppy suprise traumatized me. I was so excited to open my mommy puppy and see how many puppies were inside. When I opened her velcro baby pouch, I found a plush potato. When you squeezed it, it sang the hot potato song. Turns out my mother bought it used and now i hate the hot potato song. I never played with my mommy puppy either.
