Thanks for sharing your experience. I was in Japan (for the first time) with my husaband last Sept. and had my first onsen bath apart from him. Thanks for defining the use of the bucket! I sat on mine without rinsing it! Mine! Did I catch any disease!? Since male and female have separate baths, it is a great bonding moment for father and son (as seen in the video) or mother and daughter. I am planning to go back with my daughter before she gets married later this year!
