thought i would let you know im done with my llano system fully upgraded asus f1 a75-v evo- 2 4 gig gskill ram 8 gigs in all- asus hd 6670 overclocked to 900mhz- a8 3870k overclocked to 3.7 cpu and gpu set to 947mhz gpu on apu- ssd ocz synapse with 750 hdd hybrid setup- and all stable and under 50c under load both apu and gpu with air cooling
i built the new amd apu a8 3870 overclocked to 3.5 ghz with 2 4 gigs gskill 1600 with the same mobo but its the evo it has one more pcie slot and a seagate ce 720 gi hard drive with the new ocz synapse ssd drive its a hybrid setup to run my hard drive with like ssd performance.. hit me up sometime we can learn from one another
@StarskySTARS i built an apu system my self as well and the reason is it cost less with better performance and if you dont know what an apu is its a cpu with a gpu in one so its faster and cheaper and if you get a 6670 or lower cad you can link the apu t it for crossfirex

Personally I feel that the HD6570 is not powerful enough, but two great reasons; A8 already has graphics. And trying to fit an HD6970 in that... yeeeah, good luck. Great build, was thinking of doing the same, but didn't know what those APUs were going to be like, so I went for a CPU and GPU instead... Keep up the good work!
Not the ultimate... just built one thats A8-3870K paired with HD 6670 and 16gb of ram. Twin 120GB SSD in raid 0 and overclocked to 3.2ghz with Hyper 212 plus.
@huymitsumi i have the same set up but no gpu how is the gaming on it with the crossfirex? i have mine overclocked to 3.5 gighz and the gpu on the apu at 847 mhz
hmmm, nice rig, why cook it to death in that tiny jam packed case....let it breathe man let it breathe lest it poop on the deck. I have pretty much the same rig but in a bigger tower case so it can breathe man, let it breathe
Problem is the game/driver/OS capabilities not the processor... Most of the games nowadays are being developed for consoles... thus shitty engine (getting hacked all the time), architectures, textures, GAMEPLAY FOR RETARDS, menu strucutre (GUI) and HUD, scripted scenes and AI behaviour and lack of controls DUH gamepad DUH!
GODDAMN I want PC Gaming to have a big comeback... gimme something from good ol Valve something that makes retarded console cowboys pray to the mother of all games again!
@Alridx What are you talking about? AMD = Shit, Intel + Nvidia = Awesome. Simple math. Take this LIano rig and compare it to mine. /watch?v=udLy1N5LhZM
@jakthebomb Cost young man, Cost. And this rig is super cool and quiet. Of course yours is better. That is because your wallet is bigger and I respect that. This AMD rig is cool. And QUIET. Thats official. The party line. LLano almost everyone can afford. And no more parents buying kids lousy Intel Graphic Boxes and disappointing their kids. Now EVERY box can be good at games. Over and Out.
@jakthebomb also cost too dude i have an apu setup as well and its sweet i got the a8 3870 apu and it kills intel sandy beige. and nvidia is bad there divers suck they crash when overclocking and they suck i had a fw in my life and ill stay with amd aka old ati
We have a similar gaming rig :) You have more and faster RAM than i do! And i am using an Asrock board and an OCZ Agility 3. People really underestimate the A8 performance. Most games can be played with the integrated graphics. Add an HD6570/6670 and you wont have a problem with any game. I, for one, am really impressed with my A8, and for how few bucks you can build a gaming rig with it :)
@encode84 Did you build this? for your self? its a very nice selection of parts and I would enjoy seeing more information. Some benchmarks for temperature and combined clock rate performance.
I did! It's a really nice build indeed. In short, regarding gaming performance - CrossFireX WORKS! Do not believe to fake benchmarks sponsored by Intel and NVidia! With Crossfire I can play games at max settings in HD (720p) and even FullHD (1080p) (Battlefield Bad Company 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution). One thing, a game must support DIrectX 10 or 11, otherwise you cannot use CrossWire! These days I will try to purchase the second discrete card (same HD6570) to see what will happen
Will I able to use 3-way CrossFire? Or how A8-3850+HD6570 vs HD6570+HD6570 compared in dual CrossFire? One thing I noticed, if you use build-in GPU you have less Overclocking capabilities - the system became just unstable as hell if you do some more serious overclocking. Using just discrete graphics - you may go further. The CPU temperatures are cold - 30 degrees (Celsius) at regular PC use and max 51 degrees at prime95 stress testing!

So why would you get an APU instead of a CPU? Just asking, I dont really know what the difference is. If you care to explain id be happy! :)

Ultimate llano computer should have included 6670 and not 6570

@gamer1206 It provides variable difference between games, you get about the same fps on just apu with no aa and dual graphics with 4-8x aa

@huymitsumi sweet sounds great i just got the 6670 by asus and im going to see how it runs

See...this si why I should Of bought an APU instead of a Phenom I b60 w/ a radeon HD 6450 GPU.

actually llano a8 is better at gaming than the 955 and the i3 2100 well bit tech says so anyway .
ll01dm 3 months ago
When will people realize that More Cores doesn't mean better performance. a i3-2100 blows your A8 out of the water, and it is a Dual Core chip.

@twixttime the problem is the fabs arent able to maufacture the chips fast enough for the OEMs to build them.

Nice build. Can you power on/off the unit by remote control?

@captaincough
Nope - since it's not an HTPC. And for gaming I have wireless Gamepads and Mouse.
