  • Thank you, Father God, for reaching way down for me, on August 19, 1990, Having been raised in Church, I knew right from wrong, but as some of us do, I walked away from Him. He has blessed my life as only He can, with a soul mate whom He made just for me, and the most beautiful kids and grandbabies on earth. A million years couldn't be enough for me to praise and worship Him, not just for what He has done for me, but because of who He is.

  • Dear Lord my body is tired and weak but my Faith is strong....Please have mercy on me

  • these guys beats all groups in my book.

  • Tim Riley and Brian Free are the best i wish that more singers today could actually sing from the heart like these guys did but i guess it takes true believe in the lord to do that and you can see these guys did have that

  • I can't get enough of Brian Free

  • My great-grandfather, G E Wright, wrote this song. This brought tears to my eyes as I remembered Papaw Wright sitiing in a chair singing this at church. He was so old that he had to sit but he was still singing. When he came to the words, "reached down his hands", he would scoop his hands towards the floor. He was a big man so when he scooped he could reach the floor. GREAT MEMORIES. I thank God for my Christian heritage.

  • lawl brian has a mullet

  • Wow, I really didn't recognize Tim at all, this is filmed a long time ago, right?

  • one of the most gifted groups ever...and the feelings you get when they sang was awsome.miss the originals.. God really blessed you thru their voices and songs

  • the best gold city group ever

  • Amen, nothing more uplifting than good ol Gospel Music. I always wonder who wrote this beautiful music, how something great must of changed in someone's life to write such nice music. I also love the mullets, reminds me of the 80's.

  • this is real gospel music they may not be famous like the other who dont kno wat there singing about but i would listen to gold city any day over the major people

  • are you kidding Gold City is the biggest pro. gospel group i think there ever will be. one of my favs.

  • this song explains why i love hearing Brian Free sing

  • There's not another Southern gospel recording that tops this one.

  • Good Stuff, there!

  • I love this group, I remember riding with my mom and her playing their tapes in her car. All these songs take me back to my childhood..awesome group

  • keep the faith

  • does anybody know why mike lefevre left this group? i saw another video on youtube called pillars of faith where mike introduced the group gold city and said he sing with them for seven years. good stuff!!

  • i love this group...his voice hasen't changed any.one of the best base singers in southern gospel

  • What a blessing. This is the song my father sang many years ago when he gave his life to the Lord.

I will never forget it. He had heard Johnny Cash sing it and it meant so much to him.

    Praise the Lord.

  • This group is and was the most wonderful group and even now they are popular.

  • during the 80's and early 90's Gold City was singing news #1 gospel group for 7 years in a row

  • That's because they were the best! :)

  • When Brian left it lost something...BUT, I've seen them 3 times w/Jay & he's great. This song hooked me. Yes, I first knew "Midnight Cry" but, this made me a Brian Free fan.

  • I loved this line-up of Gold City..in fact it's the only line-up imo...when Mike left the baritone that replaced him did fine too..(forgot his name)...but this group had it all.

    Auke

  • Steve Lacey...

And yes... Steve was as good as Mike... it's when Brian and Ivan left that the group went downhill.

  • I agree that Gold City was great back then, and they just keep gettin better and better. They just keep improving! You should give the later line-ups a chance they are wonderful!Nothin against any of them though; I like them all. They have always been my favorite group.

  • I have ALL of Gold City's albums... every single one. I 'have' given them a chance. I just don't think they are as good as they were late '80's and early '90's....

  • I like this song so much, good group and to me the best of gold city

  • Love this sing!

  • I agree .I miss Brian Free singing with G C

  • Dean,

Does Gold City do Dry Bones as well as Ezekel

    Saw the Wheel?

If so I'd love to hear it.

I was just sit hear crying as I listened to

When He Reached Way Done Fod Me.

  • Praise The Lord that He reached down for me.

When he reached way down for me.

It rememinds me daily The For With God Nothing

Shall be impossible. He is our redeemer and has redeemed us with he BLOOD.

  • What the 80's ruined in style, it made up for in southern gospel. Thanks for posting!

  • Great song, I heard a group called the Travlers from South Carolina sing the same song at a concert here in Ontario Canada.

  • NICE!

  • Was it normal for Tim to give Brian the second verse? He didn't on the studio recording. I wonder if it were to save his voice, for variety or to throw Brian a bone. :)

  • Good question. Don't think it was to save his voice, Tim's durability was probably his strong suit.

  • Pretty Song and good singing!!
