I miss his singing :( We need more of the good ol' country :) I'm not even 30 yet but love all the good oldies. I remember sitting on the step in elementary school on free friday and listening to Ricky on a cassette tape with a portable cass. player with batterys lol... Good ol days:) What can I say my momma raised me right...
wow Tom, you have uploaded some great songs, and i'm just uncovering them as an onion, layer after layer. just blows my minds of the songs you upload. thanks from one music lover to another, I Salute You Sir... COA ...
best era of c&w for me: albums of the late -80's through mid-90's rodney crowell, ricky van shelton, george strait, randy travis, the judds, clint black, garth brooks
@tony685 You are absolutely correct! I'm sitting here listening to these songs and thinking of my mother. She loved Ricky Van Shelton. Don't forget Earl Thomas Conley too. What great voices they all had. I still love country music but these were truly the best years.
I just gave this song my best shot on jtyler5 channel.....give us a listen. Of course, we don't have the pro equipment that studios have for their artists...but it's pretty good! John Tyler
Excellent singer and performer, Yes he went through some rough times, and turned off the country upers, but what a voice and his songs ae song right from the heart. EXCELLENT.
Ricky Van Shelton was THE best male country music singer of late 80's and early 90 's......and would probably still making music instead of writing kids books , but alcohol was his demon...then he got clean and never came back to music..............I have all of his songs and I wish he was still touring...Love him
@GREEN07131962 It is so sad that alcohol ended his career. He was the best and I'll always love him and know that he has the best voice of anyone. I've been a fan since 1986. No one holds a candle to him.
this song makes me think of the way i want my ex to feel when im with someone else. so that way he will know what he lost. so that way he will know that i will be happier with someone else. i want him to wish he never messed up!!
What a set of pipes that man had. My wife sings in a classical choir. The first time she heard his voice, she was absolutely speechless. Wish he was still touring.
Great song from one of the best, his voice when he sings, hit you right in the Heart. And makes you think of the times we were always mean to someone, even though we never meant't it.
I agree totaly and I use to sing a lot of his songs. So many that they use to call me dave van shelton. LOL I use to sing for Chaps out of Keen New Hampshire.
This guy is what got me into country in the early '90's at the age of ten. When he remired it put an end to great music.

@tony685 I agree. Rodney Crowell was the most talented and underappreciated man in the business. I loved the 80s and 90s country too

@GothicSk8terGirl I got turned off on Conway Twitty when he started remaking Pointer Sisters songs :). But he was good back in the 60's & 70's.

Too bad 90% of the stuff they play on Country radio does'nt even qualify as Country.
Singer like this, Strait, Alan Jackson, etc. are a SMALL part today.
