as for 'implied homosexuality' in old flicks, in this one I think the relationship is more mentor/student, father figure/son then lovers.

I'll never forget the article I read on the classic 'The Far Country' a fav western of mine, that claimed there was a homosexual relationship between Jimmy Stewart and Walter Brennan's characters! WTF?!

@KaterzTheMSTie For what it's worth, then and now it is possible for people of the same gender to have close, endearing, innocent relationships without crossing lines. From my standpoint it's really annoying nowadays when some people automatically assume something different and read stuff in that is not there. Just a humble comment. :-)
