as for 'implied homosexuality' in old flicks, in this one I think the relationship is more mentor/student, father figure/son then lovers.
I'll never forget the article I read on the classic 'The Far Country' a fav western of mine, that claimed there was a homosexual relationship between Jimmy Stewart and Walter Brennan's characters! WTF?!
Sometimes a cigar is a cigar and a kind word is just a kind word
Why didn't our heroes beat up the message bearer? It was two to one then, and would have evened up the odds outside a little. They should have at least grabbed a few pool balls to chuck at their attackers. You know what, I'd be glad if these guys got their skulls bashed in. Darwin would have wanted it that way.
@KaterzTheMSTie For what it's worth, then and now it is possible for people of the same gender to have close, endearing, innocent relationships without crossing lines. From my standpoint it's really annoying nowadays when some people automatically assume something different and read stuff in that is not there. Just a humble comment. :-)
@sleepyhollow783 I'm getting a little tired of that myself. It's almost as if the notion of simple, platonic friendship is becoming incredible. I don't get it.
@sleepyhollow783 Fair point, but they're stripping in front of each other and it looks like they're going to share a bed. Their cleaning of injuries is also a bit suggestive as well.

@PorkFrog And sometimes straddling a guy and humping him is just straddling a guy and humping him.

I've got a bad feeling that from 5:27 out was how Big Stupid "trained" Danny to fight.
What about that guy I groined in the knee?!? lmao

And just what type of audience the producers of this hackneyed flick were aiming for? Reform school inmates?

Danny and Big Stupid should get a room--oh wait they did.

Uh, when was this movie made? If the relationship between Danny and Big Stupid is what I think it is then this movie was WAY ahead of it's time.
KaterzTheMSTie 2 years ago 10
It was made in 1959, and yes, it was ahead of it's time (I know what you mean).
