I mean no offence to you and your fiance and I hope that he marries you and you are both very happy. However old fans like me will never accept any replacement for Noddy or Jim. It could never be the same once they left and the proof of that is that they have made one dismal record since Nod & Jim left and they play to small crowds in countries like Belgium and Holland. In England their concerts are sparsley attended. I mean no offence The truth is the band have stood still since Nod & Jim left.
of course I understand this, some years ago I wanted Noddy and Jim back to Slade as well, but then I realised how good the band can be with a new singer too. and I know that fans can't do a lot for that, if original memeber don't really want to make a come back....:)
Hi Tango.. can't agree Keep On Rockin is dismal: quite the opposite infact. Suspect you haven't given it a chance. Dave & Don were half of Slade and still give their best when performing now. I understand you can't bring yourself to like em without Nod and Jim as it's clear you love the fab four but at the very least if you go and see Slade now you get to hear the great songs again. Saw them back in Dec in Bilston along with 700 fans in their 40s & 50s and they & I loved it. Regards, anyway BM

Shame, i dont blame Dave or Don for still going i guess, but having seen a few clips of ''Slade'' now, ime glad i havent seen this version live.
I was a huge fan growing up with their music in the 70s and first saw them in 73/74 ( Belle Vue Manchester)
and thankfully at Reading 80 a gig i will never forget.
No one but No one has a voice like Noddy the original and only Slade sound i will ever rate.
i will stick to my original vinyl and remember one of the finest british live bands ever.
