@emochocolateaddict Yes, food can become trapped in the gravel which causes poor water conditions. It is much easier to keep clean with no gravel or rocks.
@emochocolateaddict AGA or also known as a Aqueon. It came in a kit that I got on sale for about $80, and I just purchased the AGA Black Pine stand about a month ago for $140. Check out my latest video.
@Brian100487 wait just because u don't have gravel doesn't mean the fish stop pooping, or doesn't stop excess food from sinking to the bottom - so how do u get rid of fish poop and leftover food?
@emochocolateaddict That's the best part, because there is no gravel for the detritus to get stuck in, it eventually gets sucked into the filter. And there is never any excess food leftover, they always eat everything that is given to them, that's the best part of having a bare bottom aquarium.
your oranges look great! your smart by not putting rock in the bottom. My fish doubled in size when i got rid of the rock. Visit my video under kelly's goldfish
comparing them to the other video before this , they are growing a lot ! specially he bigone , i ahve pro gold pellets but my fish can't eat it direct to their mouths , cause they tends to get constiped , i blend those pelllets in a gel food and they do better

@Brian100487 but doesn't gravel promote helpful, nitrifying bacteria growth, which decreases ammonia levels?
emochocolateaddict 10 months ago
@emochocolateaddict Yes, but if you provide enough filter material, you do not have to worry about that.

@JKulla85 Thank you, the reason for their size and vibrant color is the food, clean water and genetics. BTW you have a nice tank.

Yes they can be a difficult fish to care for the inexperienced. We've had them since April and they have double, if not tripled in size.
