it depends where you live. virgin are the best out of all - your going to get worse from anyone else at this rate. besides your only getting this problem probably because you have a crap computer and you can't spell internet right.

yup i got a prob wid em im supposed to get 20 mbps fiber optic and i get 12 mbps from 8am to 8 pm then it just shuts down cant load web proply cant play games any ideas? oh and its not peek time because it lasts till 8 in the mornin
Your netgear router had a green internet light while your computer had no connection. That would be your problem not virgins. The red x in the corner means your connection to your router is dropping. Your router is after your modem and therefore your internet. Even with no modem connection you shouldn't get a red x from your netgear. That would be your wireless setup or your router setup. Not the internet service.
20meg means 20 megabits not bytes you prune.
