It is inaccurate to ask why conservatives want to keep health care from Americans.Individuals have a right to medical care if they trade successfully with who is providing medical care.Someone else could pay for it but it must be payed eventually.Conservatives are arguing against making it mandatory or by law for some individuals to pay for a service for someone else in the form of taxes.

The idea is that it is not fair or just to do so.It is theft,besides from taxes for the essential services

18,000 killed!? you are equating death from lack of health care to murder. health care systems do not murder people. illness, disease, accidents kill people. health care systems can often come to the rescue of people with the above problems. but their failure to do so in some cases can hardly be equated with murder. that being said. I would really like to know more details of about the cases that make up this 18,000 figure. I find it hard to believe people are left to die cause of lack of money.

Here's why so-called conservatives oppose public option style health care: if employees can get their health care FREE and clear of their employers, employers will LOSE a BIG bargaining chip over their employees. You can bully your employees MUCH more easily if you can take away their health care. Also: employees will be able to change jobs more easily IF they don't have to worry about losing their health care, AND: employers therefore, will have to treat their employees better. Now you know.

i can not afford insurance and would love to have it even if it is mismanaged government run healthcare...it would be better than having none. on the other hand, i don't want people who make enough to pay for their own insurance paying 40 to 60%, or more, in taxes so i can have it. somebody on here even said that free food was a right, what happened to working for something and personal responsibility? if there was really FREE hc i would want it but not if some else has to pay. nothing is free!!

I think you would be pleasantly surprised about what could be accomplished on voluntary basis if we just put down the guns. There were once charity hospitals/ and we are far wealthier today.
