Even so, Jet Li knows traditional Shaolin wushu and modern Wushu. Maybe you're mistaking his Qin Na and Taiji skills for Aikido. Even so, Jet Li's speciality is Fan Zi Quan, which is neither Taiji nor Aikido - sorry :P

Most of them clips are from the movie SHOALIN TEMPLE , he was 17 , and a chinese Kung fu champion and won 5 gold medals in the Chinese national championships, he then went on to make that film what the clips are taken from, not from the film, but the others are, and there is 2 versions of the Shoalin Temple, the one starring Jet Li, who's real Name is LI LIN JEI also starred a cast of top Japanese & chinese Masters in real life, none of who where actors but real Masters.

tideofwar, I am wondering if you are a practitioner of Taekwondo? I am in agreement that taekwondo has its useful techniques, like all martial arts. Not every aspect of any martial art is unstopable. Also, taekwondo is not all about kicks, thats just what has been spread, their is also punches and grappling. I am a student of taekwondo, karate, krav maga, aikdo, and brazillian jujitsu. My only advice is to make sure to have an understnading of yourself. Dont let things bother you.

Sholin doesn't have martial arts between 1950 to 1980. At that time, chinese governmentset up a martial aarts school and they collected many different style of martial arts masters and call it wushu. But wushu doesn make martial arts more enjoyable than real fights. But my cousin who only learn several years in a normal wushu school already can kick more than 10 people's butts, i guess jet li must be much better since he is a champ. Basically wushu means martial atrs in china.

TKD is impractical. Why on earth would you want to throw kicks at the head in a real fight? Look at what happened in the MMA last night.
