I think thats simply a optical illusion from the cameras angle. It is pretty clear that he was indeed near the shed/hangar rooftop but I don't think he passed over it, more to the immediate right side of it. It's not really important but thats what I'm thinking. And I would have never noticed that because as you said, plane 3 takes the spotlight.
