  • That buffering Youtube logo on his shirt is making my OCD act up...

  • that sucks if it still doesn't support xml files and the exporting thing. I was thinking about getting it till I found out it's lacking stuff that I used constantly

  • to be honest i would love it if it worked, but it doesn't.

  • Do you know y they called it -->Final Cut Pro X..here--X out old final fags pro..which looks more like pc software..and add the real pro..here we go

  • BravoBravo, your right why use complicated software looks like pc stuff...were in Apple World..this thing is awsome, fantastic all ov the above

  • Man you aint sayn nothing usefull

  • I love final cut pro x!!!!!!!!! Ive never used final cut pro or final cut express. I made a switch from iMovie to final cut pro x. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE FCP X. I've used every editing program and this one is easy to use. Your film is difficult to do enough. Why would you want to use a difficult program?

  • Dude -- grow a pair and realize that Final Cut Pro X sucks a big one and is a slap in the face to their customer base for this software - professionals!

  • does FCP come out every year or what? and what date? like march, august, summer spring?

  • No... Multicam...? Seriously Apple?

  • no you should not buy it, pirate bay + utorrent = $300 you did not waste on this shit lol

  • DAMN UR TEETH R WHITE!

  • You rock man! I just stumbled upon your videos a few hours ago, and i'm hooked! Awesome reviews!

  • what editor do you use to edit your videos?

  • I went from Online Movie Editors > Windows Movie Maker > iMovie > Final Cut 7 and Final Cut was, quite frankly the easiest to grasp. I don't understand why people get turned off with its layout: when you use it, it's just like any other video editor but with a different layout and way more things that you can do.

  • I love the GameFly Ad :).

  • Can you import projects from Imovie?

  • @npetrello yes.

  • is action essentials 2 a third party plugin, and if it is or is not, could you use it in final cut pro x?

  • I'm seriously thinking about taking the leap from Vegas to FCP and it sounds like the right time since it will be a fresh learning curve regardless. Thanks for your tips and thoughts on the products.

  • Sony Vegas Pro 10 or 9 is so much better! I see apple is trying to copy Sony now. Sony Vegas Pro is putting a dent in their sales. Just like windows 7 did! Thats why you don't see those "I'm a mac" commercials anymore. Sony Vegas Pro 10 (with it's 3d editing and Redcam support) is the best video editor out there.

  • I'm normally an iMovie user and I tried FCP X in the Apple Store and loved it.

I think one day I will buy it. I was wondering first though,

Does it have Motion Tracking? For example if I had a fake laptop with a green screen on it, and with GS effect made it look like something's on the laptop, would I be able to move the laptop and have the picture or video or whatever stay on the laptop in the same place? Like they do on TV?

  • @PixterPro Yup =)

  • Are you Dr.Dre?

  • k question...

the time line, does it have more then 1 Audio and 1 video?

like, you know in fcp, you can have AS MANY AS YOU WANT. can you do that with this program?

  • This software rocks!! Apple simplified and demystified the video editing process. I love it!!

  • Where do you get your cool shirts?

  • hey are you still in the army. i'm just wondering because your a youtube partner aswell.

  • After watching this a second time and having just learned Final Cut Pro (some version before X) i have decided to go ahead and buy it as i am not yet a professional and don't really use the features left out; Thanks a lot for the honesty Soldier.

  • i really want the Mac Mini!!!! i want it so much that i am going to post this comment to all of TLD and Soldier videos

  • vegas and premiere <3

  • hey im importing some files into final cut but the playback is all jittery. they are h.264 files and they run smooth in imovie and quicktime. any help is appreciated.

  • @farlcoon I would say so. Non-enthusiastic amateurs would probably use something like Windows Movie Maker, because it is free. I would say if someone is really enthusiastic about it, look into Adobe Premiere Pro. It is pricey, costing $799 for the full version of CS5.5, but usually you can find an older version used for much cheaper. I started with CS4 and upgraded to CS5 because my sister could get a good deal on it through her work, but both versions have been absolutely awesome.

  • what did you use to edit this video? and could you make a video on how to make a video like this one?

  • This video i made using FCP X!

    /watch?v=OVPAErSh-vg

  • sellout?

  • im so gad i never put in the time to learn Final cut hahah im an imovie wizard

  • @BestGFXRankings same. exept i use i move HD i cant put in the time to learn imovie im and imovieHD king

  • Adobe FTW!

  • how do you record your videos with your webcam and your screen??

  • Apple is adopting Windows tactics??? re the version issue in that one is able to transfer old project into the new version. Publisher in Windows same issue. Not good!!!

  • did you use imovie to do this i really want to do split screen like you do but idk how !

  • where did you get that cool t shirt, Soldier?

  • Sony Vegas Pro 10. Definantly better than Final cut pro 10 and X

  • Restricting legacy use, missing third party plugins and complete interface rebuild will and does only alienate loyal users. For anyone using the software for professional or hight end use FCP X won't cut the mustard. I will stick with FCP7 and keep all my plugins I'm betting many others will to. Thanks for posting.

  • @shanks1323 your like that because you don't have one.

  • I'll buy it from piratebay ;)

  • @Abdullah24611 i already did

  • @Abdullah24611 if u get it from there. can u sill get the latest updates?

  • Macs SUCKS

  • I saw : "Final Cut Pro X: Should You Pirate It?" :P

  • Buy it, more like PIRATE

  • For PROS... Final Cut Pro X will be everything they want soon....what it is now is great..remember is only v1...

  • Okay so I'm am 100% the worst person to say anything here but. I am a Avid user, Using FCP 7 because that's what the producer wants. Using FCP for almost a year now. Avid brought Avid 5.0 and owned everything and editors loved it! FCP brought out "iMovie Pro" and normal people loved it. That said, if you can tell a story, you can tell a story, doesn't matter what you use. But if you want to be taken seriously as an editor. Edit with a real program. FCP 7 or any Avid

  • I've used earlier versions of FCP in the past, and I was always confused at why Apple kept the interface so outdated looking. I didn't mind using it, but it stood out against every other bit of software Apple makes. This version is definitely a bit lacking, but I think a complete overhaul is what the product needed. Just as long as the missing features are reintroduced with an update, I really like FCP X.

  • 3:25 there's like a fucking four year old at the bottom, what a dumbass.

  • Mine's installing now! hehe!

  • Comment removed

  • I think that this is basically a shit version of FCP.

  • I will buy once I get my iMac and MacbookPro.

  • Final Cut Pro X, from what I see is a prosumer product; which hurts the professional market.

    Apple, shame on you...

  • from where do you get your t shirts?????

  • wanna comment but haven't used it yet! xD

  • Sony vegas pro 10 FTW :P

and no third party plugin support??? wtf

  • @Z4NE134 its coming. calm down/

  • @Z4NE134 I still prefer Final Cut Pro 7.. but that's just my personal opinion ;)

  • @Olli120 they both have their ups and downs. U cant really say one is better than the other

  • @Z4NE134 Right, so at the end of the day it comes down to everyones personal preference ;)

  • @Olli120 exactly, I dont kno why ppl cant understand that lol

  • @Z4NE134 There is 3rd party plugin support, but it's for 64-bit applications only, as it was for After Effects when it converted to 64-bit.

  • @Z4NE134 the reason is cuz the third party plugins aren't 64 bit, so THEY need to update, not FCP

  • GameFly or Final Cut Pro X? Hmmmm.....

  • TORRENT FTW!!!

  • when is your shirt going to load, must be an atom processor

  • The real prob is that people are afraid and don't like changes!!

  • i reckon with their success of iMovie for the ipad and iphone they might end up releasing this for multiple platforms and bring editing to handheld, which could be and amazing revolution. snapping, tearing, dragging and dropping clips using gestures would come naturally

  • Soldier what software are you using to do your videos?

  • @Resistoon ScreenFlow

  • @Resistoon He uses Screenflow.

  • @Resistoon I think he is using ScreenFlow a Mac only app

  • @Resistoon He uses Screenflow

  • @Resistoon He is doing this vids with Screen flow

  • @Resistoon He uses ScreenFlow.

  • thumbs up if you hate FCP X.

  • @rymotion1 note how no one thumbs up'd it

  • Why does everything apple release have to be so damn high even when it sucks?

  • Thanks for the opinion. Please continue making awesomely helpful videos :)

  • Your shirt is still laggy after months!

  • the only thing i'm gonna BUY from apple soon is Lion :)

    praise torrents

  • Oh, friendly to newbies? oh, ok. that's good. yeah, yeah I understand it is easy to use... yeah, just like iMovie. (meanwhile in another tab) AVID MEDIA COMPOSER 5 TUTORIALS

  • F this... im gonna go look at sarah palin with one hand.

  • @MrCombatveteran i found it on pirates bay and it works

  • >2011

    >Buying software

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

  • after effects... kthxbai

  • Change always comes with bumps in the road. When its all said and done, Final cut pro will be easier to use, less expensive to buy, and will do erything the older versions did and then some. All it takes is a little time. The pros who edit for a living aren't going to upgrade mission critcal software for a version one release anyway. They will wait untill the bugs are worked out and the updates add critical features and has been fully tested. This whining from the peanut gallery is lame.

  • As a PC user, I can't comment first hand because of my limited experience with the FCP/FCS/etc and the newer iMovie variants (So far, I like Adobe Premiere CS5 most). However looking at this I think Apple may be dropping their Pro customers a little too much-it seems like FCPX might not quite be enough for more pro movie studios, where maybe FCP7 was a bit better. Perhaps FCPX should have had a few less features and have been released as a new FCExpress?

  • Subcribe To RobbieGordon93

  • does anyone know if you can still chromakey/green screen in FCPX? Also if you can crop video for cloning? I'm still on imovie and am thinking this would be a good upgrade.

  • The new Final Cut is worse than AIDS.

  • i think its funny how i look at all of his videos when i dont own anything by apple

  • @MrCombatveteran use Thepiratebay or Btjunkie. You could probably find it on warez forums too

  • DOPE!

  • Hopefully they are still selling the old version, and they haven't gotten rid of it completely.

  • @nwil91198 for the people who are pros and still want to use it anyway

  • Lets watch a mass switchover to avid... }:^I

  • i hate ur shirt lol

  • @batu2260 I don't care... comments aren't that important to me. Good day.

  • From all i know, final cut pro is meant for professionals. Apple needs to know that ...

  • $350 for an an improved iMovie! I think this should be the new version of iMovie.

  • I take great enjoyment in seeing an Apple product that people don't like.

  • I'm a Sony Vegas Pro person

  • Avid, here I come!

  • @batu2260 You can choose to pay for it... I'm not.

  • FCP is a meant to be a professional piece of software it has always been and Apple has lost a lot of loyal customers by not including the professional features, which you didn't really touch on, yes there targeting consumers but thats is a minor reason to the issues with why people don't like the software. I think you neglected this fact a little too much, a lot of your follows are YouTubers not professional movie makers or semi pros so asking your follows I felt was not relevant to this review

  • Don't buy it then, torrent it :D

  • Well presented. Like the idea of having the sponsor plug at the end too :) Thanks.

  • 4 the iPhone 5 release date check out my channel tbone10sucks

  • i've used final cut express (not much though) and imovie, and FCPX is definitely a good upgrade for someone like me who just wants to upload to youtube. i could definitely understand why pros don't like it; there's a lot of stuff i could do easily with FCE but because of the new layout and such, i can't do so well with FCPX, but that's with every software! looking forward to editing more videos. great video, soldier!

  • really great video! seriously! I'm new in editing and I've been playing around with my Imovie and wanted to upgrade to something more powerful, was hesitant at first to download FCPX cause of the mix reviews, but You'r vid explains it all! thanks a lot! :D Really-really helpfull!

  • all of the things people hate about final cut pro x is stupid. for one reason. all those features will come out with minor updates. apple evan said. the only feature which get left behind is support for final cut pro 7 and below.

  • I personally love the new Final Cut Pro. The old one was a little too complicated for me to use, this one, no issues :)

  • soooooooooooooo should we buy it?

  • I am testing a torrent version and its not bad, yes I have the original FCP 7 and to be honest I think for those who have iMovie would definitely have a lot video power in their hands, one thing I do no like is that some features that I use to use like time speed there is no percentage its either you stretch the clip to slow it down or speed it up, something that FCP is more precise. But you could torrent it and test it out.

  • The latest iMovie I liked was iMovie06 HD! Now they ruined final cut pro too!

  • a real movie editor would hate final cut X

  • I remember the good old days when I HAD to use Windows Movie Maker... and it always crashed... everytime. I hated life.

  • i think that apple should have done this redesign with Final Cut Express instead of pro, its more in between consumer and pro video editing

  • THUMBS UP IF THERE IS A GUY AT THE PORTLAND APPLE STORE THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE SOLDIERKNOWSBEST!

  • Its actually not that bad. Used it to edit a short last night

  • I wouldnt torrent this shit

  • apple is seriously diseased in the brain. they are such thick headed assholes. what is their obsession with cutting out the fundamental functional features and specs of their products? QuickTime X? this new final cut? the macbooks that came without FireWire? all complete bullshit. they want to get to the point where only actually sell the apple logo. and whoever created final cuts "media management" should be killed.

  • I have it. Haven't had any video to edit though... so my opinion isn't totally developed but i like it. i don't mind the iMovie feel because for doing Vlogs like i do, (film for around 10 mins and use jump cuts) iMovie is a whole lot easier. but not enough features. before i edited basics in iMovie then exported to Final Cut. But with this it will probably be much easier.

  • I like the honest view from you on gadgets, software etcetera. It doesn't matter u are a Apple fanboy. You are giving other brands a chance. Keep up the good work.

  • Should you buy it?

    No, you should torrent it.

  • @TechGeek95 No, you should ilegally download it...

  • @LordWarlos erm... that's the same thing...

  • @TechGeek95 amm ok lol

  • ohh snap

  • @jamabo2001 he uses screenflow

  • Its not even worth torrenting it :P

  • Great review Soldier...boy.

  • where do u get your shirts ? lol

  • TORRENT, TORRENT, TORRENT

  • heres a tip: torrent it.. i mean its just like purchasing it but your not throwing $300 away..

  • DON'T BUY IT STEAL IT ;)

  • @Am1Creepy You mean copy it! :D

  • @Am1Creepy I like how you think. Torrents baby!

  • @Am1Creepy What are you, a thief? Just pirate it.

  • @Am1Creepy i downoaded a torrent not going to lie just wanted to "demo it" i liked it so i went to buy it and the app store thinks i bought it ! idk what to do now!

  • it's like just the abality to say "I made this movie with FinalCut!!!" That's awsm...

  • Personally, I love final cut X. Iv been using previous versions for years and i have always hated the looks and feel, doing something simple seemed to take way to much effort for the simplicity of the edit. Apple have done well with this version, well thought out features that really do make editing more efficient and smoother...hey, no waiting for rendering? thats amazing!

BUT, Apple have failed to keep features consistant, if a updates comes with a fix, which i think will. The hate will die.

  • Anyone interested in getting the developers version of iOS 5 send me a message for further details
