I am stunned at your inexpressible suffering. my breaking heart barely begins to express my compassion. I have been haunted by the losses endured by the people of New Orleans, still my permeating sorrow is merely an abstraction. It never can touch your grief.
I have been making paintings called The Floating City which is a metaphor for the strong, resilent and hope-filled hearts of its residents.I hope there is more than a calm after the storm, but that in time, every brick will rise.
That's horrible. I had thought that the area flooded gradually from the levee breaks and had damage from simply sitting under a lake of flood water. This damage looks more like its from a tsunami. Did a wall of water smash thriugh this area?
they didnt want you to know the truth...you still dont know everything. i did a lot of cleanup cuz i live just 60 miles away...people living in tents a year after the fact and places charging $5 for a hot shower
I have just returned from N.O. and had to pay a taxi driver $60 to drive me around the lower 9th ward yesterday for half an hour. It's atomic, a black hole. Over one year later, the only thing different today than from this video is that the water is gone. All the rest is identical to November 12, 2006.
I know that most of these people are poor and this is all they have, but I don't think I could rebuild after that. I would want to go somewhere else.

Do you expect to get the truth from the nightly news? Are you that naive?
