this documentary is so good ! For me these guys are about the love of their music and holding on to that belief. "The number of people at a rock concert and the amount of tickets sold does not tell you how good the music is" (Frank Zappa). Giving everything you got for 175 people is just as real ! Respect to Anvil !

That's the thing I got from this movie, although even in the movie they were always saying that they were gonna make it and such, but I want to believe that they didn't mean it in a money kind of way, but in a 'these guys are acting like freaks with my music!!!!!' kind of way. I don't know, this movie is touching in many ways, because it's real.

Kudos to this band. They are so dedicated!!!! They are still doing what they love, despite their losses. That says a lot about their dedication, and that is something that money can't buy. But they need to be acknowledged. Best of luck to you guys, without your struggle your influence on bands like Metallica and Anthrax, metal wouldn't be the same without you!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I used to practice next door to them at Safor Rehearsal studios in Toronto, and they were great guys. LOUD AS HELL!! We didn't practice while thet were there hahaha They always had great energy on stage and were always entertaining.

Anvil were never especially good, but neither were Metallica, the difference is simply commercial success - this movie is just an attempt from them to break through to the mainstream and become famous, but that doens't make them any better...

I mean by watching the movie they seem good people, and I'd probably like them on a personal basis, but I have never liked anything they have recorded. I honestly don't feel music was the career they should have taken, and "Do it until we're old men!"....like they say in the movie....

If they put THAT MUCH effort into some basic boring metal riffs, that even my little 4 yr old can come up with, they are into the wrong business.

I'm a musician, and I am judging their musical side. Sorry, I find them to be the lamest in the whole metal genre, there are far better metal bands out there, who have far more interesting chord progressions, melody lines, hooks, lyrics, also with better songs that are well thought-out , and especially better vocals than Anvil. Even from Canada.

Slash isn't a very articulate musician at all, he's a cheaper copy of a Page-Perry hybrid, but without the musical knowledge of Page and Joe Perry, Lemmy has no room judging bands, he needs some music skills and voice skills big time himself, and Lars Ulrich plays by ear, so none of these three you mentioned really have any knowledge to be able to judge other musicians, all they are saying in the movie is basically that they like Anvil, but if you pay attention they don't get into much detail.

You can like a band for whatever the reason but it doesn't have to be their songs. Matter of fact, I listened to Anvil back in the day, but I wasn't really into their songs, as much as their heavy metal attitude, being a beginner headbanger myself in the mid 80s, and that's what captured me about them. But at the same time I always listened to different things, my faves were/are: Dream Theater, Marillion, Pat Metheny, HIM, Saosin, Journey, Toto, Genesis, Yes, Chick Corea, Eagles....
