The tiny pinch was one of the ad "rules" tobacco companies stuck to. There was never, ever any spitting in the ads. No spitters either. No one was ever shown with a bulge in his lip--even Walt Garrison, who was a serious dipper if there ever was one. Plus, they were trying to make it look super easy to do--though any dipper knows it takes some practice.
