  • dude. that tree cutter climber guy is retarded....

  • the hippie just loved that ox put his foot on him so that he could cry and hope that it looked really bad for the cameras. I like saving big trees but these guys were trespassing and were in the wrong. They are lucky the arborist were such good climbers and got them down without real harm.

  • We didn't even know about the cameras until the cases went to trial, and nobody would have thought that we would ever have access to them, even if they did notice them. These were not obvious cameras, they were fairly discreet and built into the helmets, so that they would not be broken off during operations. No, activists don't look forward to getting brutalized by cops, loggers, and climbers, trust me. The extraction climbers did not have adequate training, and others were also injured.

  • I'd have just cut the tree and let the trespassers decide if they wanted to go for the ride or not,

  • Knowingly cutting a tree with someone in it would be considered murder, and there are always video cameras on hand to document such criminal activities. Think about what you're saying...that you would be willing to kill another human being for merely sitting in a tree...so explain to me now how we're the unreasonable ones?

  • Hey, it's their call. I'd let them come down. ;)

  • Yes, telling them to come down is within your rights, yet taking any further action is not. Yes, I know it's fun to post inflammatory statements on the internet, yet I have a feeling that you would realize the implications in a real-life scenario. The legal punishments for murder are pretty bad, and I don't really think that you'd decide to risk it for a "trespasser" and one tree.

  • Maybe... maybe not.

  • Well then, I guess you're maybe not so opposed to spending time in prison.

Non-violent activsts vs. murders...who do you think society would deem to be the better citizen?

  • If it's MY tree, and they're TRESPASSING... then the responsibility for their safety is on THEM.

If it's someone else's tree, well... I wouldn't be there kicking them out in the first place. I don't do that kind of work.

  • First off, if you were in this situation, then the tree would be "owned" by the company you work for, not by you.

Second, trespassing is not punishable by death, and is not justification for homicide. The only exception to this law is in a case of breaking and entering, and is clearly a case of self-defense. Knowingly falling a tree with someone in it is murder, and there are almost always video cameras to prove it.

  • typo:non-violent activists vs. murderers*

  • Non-violent activists are still committing criminal acts.

But then, liberalism is exactly what's wrong with this country; no accountability for ones' actions.

  • We stand fully accountable, which is why we voluntarily go to jail and attend our trials. Neither misdemeanors nor infractions are punishable by death, and no private citizen has the right to take justice into their own hands in that way. We count on the civility of civilization to protect our lives and safety, yet some have no regard for either. In contrast, we have never physically hurt anyone, and sought only to save ancient groves and responsible forestry.

  • Where does it say not to cuss? Could you give us the book, chapter, and verse please?

  • nazi tree climbers

  • I've read the Bible and Zacchaeus wasn't nearly this ignorant.....He just got down out of the tree.....Oh yeah, the Bible also says don't cuss.....
