  • Did you cut your hair ever time you put in new extensions? I am starting a transistoning journey influenced by you so thank you so much

  • Your hair is really beautiful!!!!!

  • omg this video made me so comfortable to wear my natural hair today...I am a college student and i have been natural for almost 2 years and i have never wore my natural hair out...i am a weave girl to heart..i decided to look through some videos on how to bun my natural hair and came across your channel and this video...thank you for giving me confidence and i am looking forward to feeling free because wearing weaves all the time feels so constricted

  • Your hair is soooooo BEAUTIFUL! !! and the skin is Banging!!!! Very Inspired!!!!!

  • my hair is super thick and naturally curly, but its down to my waist and since its so long and thick its became wavy and knotty rather than curly.

  • I love you.....i saw your video 6 months ago and the next day i did my big chop.....now i have a beautiful fro is not as big as yours but its getting their lol...your my inspiration

  • I love your video so much....I want to go natural but then again im afraid of wht ppl will say cuz im dtiil in high school and i dnt wanna look dumb..but i wanna go natural so bad im so sick of perms and my hair never grows

  • @zephniah08 Girl don't worry at all. I'm a freshmen in high school. My hair was DAMGED from perms, and one day I just cut an inch of my permed hair off. My hair was between my neck, and when I cut off the inch my hair was very short, and people were like, "WHAT!!!!!!!!!!", But let me tell you something my hair has grown three inches of natural hair in eight months. My last perm was april 2010, and now my hair is VERY THICK, and 4b/4c, and i love it. Don't be afraid, and good luck : )

  • I really enjoyed your video and the way you expressed your self. I would be interested in seeing how u did the hair style in the last picture in this video.

  • I've been natural about 2months, and I have been getting so many good compliments every since. It really make me feel good, I don't have to worry about the perm burning me, I enjoy my natural hair. Everyone in my house is natural now.

  • im going natural, my hair cant do perms anymore. perms have ruined my hair

  • Girl you are my SHE-RO!!!!! Your video was very inspiring! 9 months w/o the creamy crack and counting...

  • Hello BBBD, I just did my BC on July 27, 2010 and I am so excited!

I have trully been inspired by you and the growth of your hair. Continue to share the knowledge! Thanks for the inspiration. Kristie

  • Your hair is so beautiful I really liked the one with the scarf around the hair and the loose pin up going to the side so pretty.

  • can you please do a tutorial on 9:38 iin the yellow; :) iim deciidiing to go natural now && yu inspiired me even more :)

  • I LUV YOUR HAIR AND YOUR SKIN IS FLAWLESS, IVE BEEN NATURAL ALL MY LIFE AND JUST PRESSED IM AFRAID TO WEAR IT NATURAL B/C IT DRYS OUT FAST, WHAT DO YOU AS FAR AS PRODUCT AND SOMETHING TO PREVENT BREAKAGE?

  • Yey young ladie just wanted to stop in and tell you not only do your hair look great but wanted to let you know that your personality carries you a long way it is more to the hair styling other that just a step by step process but you have mastered both. Girl I pray for much success for you . Have a blessed day....

  • hi, i am 13 years old female, & I have relaxed hair, people say they prefer natural hair better than fake hair, but every time I see a black model, i notice they have beautiful, long, straight, hair & I want to be like that so I keep on relaxing my hair to get that result.

& i think ur very beautiful!!

  • You are beautiful just as you are... whether it's with straight hair or curly. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. God bless! :)

  • @antmamazing hey I'm 18 and I understand what you mean we don't see many beautiful black women with natural hair, but the few we do see are gorgeous, yes permed hair is nice but natural hair is who you are and thats even more beautiful, so although we don't see many beautiful natural women as role models, we can be role models to girls who are younger than us, if we go natural we could inspire them to do it and that way as we do get older we will see more models and movie stars with natural hair

  • omg this video isvery inspiring .

  • Yes!

  • Great video, very encouraging.

  • love love love your inspirational words of empowerment! your videos are definitely helping me along my own natural hair journey

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE the two braids! (you had on orange) how did u do it?

  • I would love to email you so you can give me advice about things to do with my hair to take better care of it. my hair is already naturally but I feel like it is not as healthy as it could be. I would really appreciate it, thanks so Much!

  • I would love to know what you do to your hair and how do you get it to grow?

  • Beautiful! I watch your channel for inspiration honey. I went natural 3/7/2010 via the dreaded BC...LOL. :-) I totally relate to your reasons for going natural. Preach girl!

  • Very Pretty. I am 44 years old and I started twisting my hair and wearing it natural in the mid-eighties. I am so sorry I never thought to turn it into a business. However, I remember some people thought I was crazy back then and some black women told me that black men don't like the natural hair. I could go on and on, but I will say that I am glad black women have grown to new levels in our natural hair care.

  • you are fab!!!!!! go girl.Your hair is beautiful!keep the vids coming!!

  • i like it! everything ur tlkn about i went through the same thing and now since im natural i feel exactly like u! thats wasup!

  • Sister you are awesome it takes a big mind to understand where you're coming from. I'm so happy that you have arrived. And you are soooo beautiful angelic face with your beautiful natural hair.

  • you remind me so much of my sis (thats a good compliment)

  • @MiClLC of cos u shuld know....just watching out for ur fellow monkeys, are u?

    so nice....

  • Thank you so much! I really appreciated your video and your honesty. I am "newly" natural about one month now! I have been encouraged by so many women like you who have lead the way! I watched many videos but yours is the first that I commented on. I would love yo see a tutorial on the "yellow" hair style was pinned on one side. Loved it =)

  • I agree with you in this video. I received a lot more "pressure" from people inside my home and family than outside of my home: "Why don't you do something with your hair?", "Why don't you get a perm?"...hard to avoid those things inside the home, and for me, it outweighed the positive comments from strangers outside.

I'll probably go natural again next year.

    Way to inspire. :]

  • Girl - you know you touch soooo many hearts, including mine!

    Luv ya!

    V.

  • Waaaw, thanks for sharing.. I'm one year natural. have been struggling for 4 years. I ended up perming my hair everytime because of the pressure. . . Am having those temptations now.. But watching your video re-inspired me to continue this journey. Thanks for sharing

  • @CuracaoPrincess Way to go for one year natural. I was natural for a while, but the "pressure" you speak of is all too real.

  • @cl3x18999 i know how that feels.

  • I went natural b/c I got tired of putting relaxers in my hair. Today I finally accept my natural hair b/c its me...I went out in the world with two french braids...I love me..thx for inspiring me..I will be natural since September 2009.

  • can u plz do a tutorial on the pic where its a back shot and u have clear bra straps..? seems like a hairstyle I can do for my bro's wedding since I'm walking...or suggest a hairstyle tha'ts very elegant :)

  • i can really agree with you when u say being natural spills off into other facets of your life. When I started paying attention to the chemicals in my hair products, I also find myself paying attention to the ingredients in the foods I eat. I also started consuming more fruits and vegatables and cut back on a lot of junk food. Jus thought I share. I luv your vids and congrats on your success and future endeavors. Be Blessed 8)

  • Your hair is beautiful! I can't wait to get to the point where i let out my natural hair for tha world to see. I just did the BC so i always have it in braids now.

  • Thanks for inspiring me to try once again go totally natural. Question how did you drop the extra weight?

  • God bless you sis...you have a beautiful spirit! Stay encouraged!

  • love that you went natural, it looks great. Also, i wanted to know do you have any pictures of when your hair was relaxed??

  • You speake like a woman of the Lord (even though it was about hair). Just the way you spoke.

I love your hair, I'm considering natural myself but I'm going to take my time and go down the line to stretching and texlaxing then possibly all natural.

  • This is a very inspiring video, it really feeds that Natural Ma soul. I could not have said this better! Every picture I saw after I would like to see in a tutorial. Definitely a fav....

  • Girl, I almost shed a tear wehn i seen this video. Im so inspired. thanks

  • Gosh I wish I had the same hair texture as you! Great video and nice hair style as usual. 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well put...i experienced cycles of breaking once i got out of high school and no longer was in my mom's home to get taken to the shop....so once in college...here came the breakage. ....so i started going natural...got asked if I was from Spain, and France..just like you were saying...I'm from right here in the USA, but I love being natural and you wear it well also!

  • I so feel ya on people saying how exotic it is when you are just being you...I get that alot now, and it's wonderful that being natural and being myself makes others appreciated me as a person more!

  • You're such a beauty!!! & I'm LOVING your hair!!!

  • you are preaching to me ive been natural but ive been gettin a press out and the heat damage was gettin worst so i decided to go all the way nappy and so its somthin new for me and im gonna haveta go thru a lil transition this video was very encouraging thank u (tear)

  • Love, love LOVE your hairstyles! Do you mind doing a tutorial on the one with you in the turquoise/green and yellow PRETTY PLEASE!!!! Thank Yah!

  • At 3:30 you said that you cut your hair. I was wondering what exactly did you cut and why did you cut it? Thank you I appreciate it!!

  • what you said about how your hair would break off when you had relaxers and whenever you got a touch up thats what happens to me and i just notice it also its noticable to me that my hair is uneven on one side thinner here and there thicker here and there and plus all the money ive been spending on getting touch ups and products and i want to go natural because it is beautiful and i too want to embrace the "real" me your an inspiration girl!

  • wow ur hair is BEAUTIFUL. my hair is natural as well (about 2 yrs now) and it is THICK... i wanted to ask u if u ever straighten ur hair... and if u do how long does it last... when i straighten my hair (not too often) it lasts 4 about 2hrs then slowly starts to poof back up... lol... please comment back... interested to hear what u hv to say

  • You are a very good speaker. My mom is natural and I'm consider going natural myself. At this point I'm looking for some helpful tips.

  • You're beautiful sister, and love the hair. Thanks for posting, thats encouraging :)

  • girl !!! this is the truth!!! speak out to the world- natural hair is fly!! yeah yeah,i love your hair !!! keep it natural, you look so good with it!

  • I love your hair styles. I can see myself wearing them.

I've been trying to go natural for almost 3 months. i can't wait to try those styles. Thank you for sharing

  • u have very pretty hair whats urr hair texture?

  • i love it..u r definately one of my top 3! u have a magnetic and powerful force coming from you that is beautiful..keep it coming with the words of inspiration, hair n makeup vids..

  • I so don't want to hear that her hair isn't like most black women hair textures...please people stop getting caught up in thinking you have to be mixed with something to have beautiful hair....it so not true...they're a lot of black people male & female w/ beautiful hair and they're not mixed...my sister is a great ex. she's dark like blueberries and not mixed with anything and her hair curls up when wet...so tired of hearing that mixed comment

  • Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I love your style. I myself am 15 months free from relaxer and about 4 months totally natural. You were on my sister's subscribed list and I was checking out some of your videos. In this particular video you mentioned something about using a knee high for your poofs. Do you have a tutorial for that one yet? Thanks!

  • peace sis! i just subscribed. i found your video while watch blackonyx. i am heading into my second month of transition. this inspired me to keep going. you are beautiful and so is your hair. i needed to hear these words today. thank you!

  • I feel the same way! I couldn't have said it better!!! Wonderful video!

  • Wow, I was looking at the style pix, and your hair is absolutely gorgeous. It's something about natural women that is so beautiful, and doesn't compare to relaxed women. It's the exotic and different hair. It's gorgeous!

  • My nine year old daughter keeps asking for a relaxer because she feels she not pretty because her hair isn't straight. One realization was she wanted to look like me. So what message was I sending her? I have never been comfortable with a relaxer, anyway, and I wanted her to grow comfortable with being what she is. So I did the BC with no transition. I'm good.

    In God's way....

  • good for you :)

  • Love the styles....waiting on those tutorials :)

  • when you get a chance do the "knee high "tutorial.

  • i feel you girl...i feel more confident, i have an obsession with fruit now, and i get asked if i'm from another country or mixed ALL the time...i'm like "nope all african american" i'm glad i subscribeed to you...: )

  • u r beautiful all of the hairstyles were lovely i just can't do hair at all i'm at the stage of wearing extension braids to grow out my hair n then do the big chop

  • Wearing natural hair may seem like it makes no difference to the self esteem of women but your right it truly does. I have locks and have had them for about two years. I knew the relaxers and weave was wore by me as my security blanket(so to speak) I felt gorgeous with those things and without them I though I was ugly.

  • Beautiful video...thanks for posting

  • BBBD you are truly beautiful. But your hair isn't like most black women's hair, or at least its not as thick or as course as it could be. It looks like you might have a little Indian or something in your family, cuz it's real shiny and wavy. Not that that's a bad thing, but just remember to feel for the sisters out there who have some real comb breakin' bush to deal with. ^_^

  • I have seen black women who are not mixed with beautiful hair like hers

  • You mean they didn't know if they were mixed or not. Even black women straight from Africa who have soft hair are mixed with Arab. Somali's, Ethiopian's and some Kenyan's are that way. Everybody's mixed a little, even if its not your next of kin like your parents.

  • Have you seen the fulani tribe in West Africa. They are in Mali, Nigeria, and other parts of west africa. They look similar to Ethiopians, but they are not mixed with Arabs, they are full black and have LONG curly hair. I always used to think ethiopians were mixed too, but my friend who is ethiopian corrected me and told me most of them are not.

  • Your texture of hair looks like it is a naturally softer than some textures of black hair. Have you noticed your mother's or father's hair being more curly. The reason I ask is because I have extremely course and virgin hair. I haven't had a relaxer in about 5 years. I find that my hair really needs to be conditioned heavilyto soften it up. What organic conditioners would you recommend?

  • You're one beautiful sista :D I just cut my hair into a short cut last week, and I'm going natural now!! I'm excited!! I can't wait to see where this hair journey takes me. How long did it take your hair to get to the length its at now?

  • well keep that shit to ur self cause nobody ask u thanks...

  • ur a hater and a lame and and am done with u..

  • do you ever flat iron your hair?

  • Excellent Video! I've been thinking about going natural, because 1.) It requires less maintenance whereas getting it relaxed, you must ALWAYS keep it moisturized so that it won't dry out and break off(it's weakened). And 2.) Because when you work out, the relaxed state of your hair reverts back faster, causing you to pay more attention to the ways it can be styled. My question though is, when you work out most times of the week, how often should it be washed. (Non-relaxed hair)?

  • natural hair requires alot of moisture. more than my permed hair ever did. ad you can wash your hair as often as you like.

  • I have decided 2 transition 2 natural hair, but have been watching ur vids 4 months. Since I have been transitioning (since April) I realize how people change and hate on you for your decisions. "Your hair is not good enough to go natural", etc. Then the same person will say "I think I can go natural". LOL! I thought ppl around me would b supportive but I see that the only thing that is important is how u feel about ur decision. Thanks 4 the vids and what u put out here 4 women in general.

  • Thanks for posting the styles..all are nice and I would love to see tutorials on all! :-) Also, please share what made your hair grow so much..was it certain products, vitamins, etc? You have a lot of hair and it seems like it grew fast.

  • I've been relaxer free for about 2 years and completely natural for 19 months. I've been locking my hair for the last 10 months.... I must say looking at this video does make me miss my big fro... I don't know if I'll stay with the locs forever but I know that I won't go back to a relaxer. I found that my hair is so much healthier natural and once I cut my relaxer off... It grew SoOOOOO fast. went from being an inch long to past my shoulders stretched out in a lil over a year.

  • YOUR hair is absolutely breath taking......i have been natural for about 4 years now but during my natural process i was getting it staightened and colored frequently.......i went to hair school and decided to wear my hair in its natural state......most of my compliments came from other races???? so strange.....but i stopped for a while and cut it into a funky cut now its growing out and i wear it natural from time to time but i don't like the length that it is now and i can't do the braid thing

  • I am so proud of you!!! I have my 13 year (future AKA) watching you...Giving her examples outside the home that are great!!! Thank you, thank you!!

  • you know its funny that you mention the "double whamy". long hair has always been something i used to camaflauge things about my body i wasnt/ not comfortable. and now that im sorta transitioning...have no choice but to be real with myself. Your vids are REAL and encouraging.

  • girl, that creamy crack

  • Are you going to attend the natural confrence on September 19, 2009 in Tampa, FL. When I first cut my hair back in April of 2007 one of your videos was one of my first youtube experiences with natural hair. I haven't found the time between school and work to make any tutorials of my journey but I would love to see you at the conference. If I don't see you, thanks for the motivation and maybe one day I will be on youtube inspiring someone else to explore different parts of there inner beauty

  • What do you think aided the most in your tremendous growth? What key things would you say helped your hair grow so quickly?

  • I just loe your hair and your spirit... I am newly natural for 2 months and you are so right being natural mkes you change your whole way of thinking.... also you inspire me becuase I am new to being natural and at the state where my hair is really short so compliments are so few and far between so my coonfidence gets low especially remember how much attention I got with weaves and a perm... but I cant wait till my 3 year mark and my hair is like yours and i get the last laugh!

  • Sweetie... stay with it... You have to learn to love your hair... We've been told all of our lives our natural hair is bad and must be changed so that's where a lot of that doubt comes in when ppl think about going natural. The more you stick with it the more you'll learn how to style for you and what makes you look and feel pretty. When you go natural.. I think you gain a new perspective of what is beautiful and you have to know that you're the BOMB!

  • U are sooo exotic! I ust love ur look and you tell like it is! these women out here just lying and being untrue to ourselves!

thank you so much for this! Im natural now 2 years!!! yeah!!

  • I LOVE YOU!! can u just do a tutorial on all of your styles?!?! lol

  • could you please do a tutorial on the one in yellow

  • Great video and you and your hair are beautiful!

  • hey do u think youll color your hair

  • keep inspiring.........thanks......and please continue to make these motivational video.

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing

  • Your hair is soooooo beautiful! I hope I can grow my hair that length one day.

  • Great video girl! Very inspiring!

  • Thank you so much for the pictures of style ideas as well as your inspirational words like always. You are truly amazing.

  • This was a VERY EMPOWERING video. I am about nearly 20 years older than you, and you have taught me so much!!! It's because of you, I decided not to transition and to just do the BC. Watching your videos truly motivated me and got me so excited about see the naturl state of my hair, I just could not wait and on May 23, 2009 I did the BC. Keep doing YOU as you do so well. Be Blessed.

  • I love the comment you made that people think its beautiful, different and exotic but its just you being you...So true! We dont realize how beautiful we are until we just embrace ourselves for exactly who we are.

  • Your hair is so beautiful.....I can't wait for my hair to get this long......If you can make a video about the knee-hi tie....that would be lovely because my daughters and my hair texture is also very thick...we need some help.

  • Great video as usual;-). Couldn't really decide which style I lliked best, ALL are simply beautiful! Can't wait to see the first tutorial;-)

  • OK I LIKE THEM ALL!!!! LOL Can you please do something on all of them!!! Hope thats not asking too much!!!! Love your videos sooo motivational!!!!

  • I totally get that. Ive been natural since about 2003 and for most of that time I wore my hair in braids. And I wasn't even taking care of my hair in braids so my hair didn't retain length. But I wasnt comfortable wearing my hair out. In summer 2007 I wore by hair out for the first time. For the next year after that I wore braids on and off after that. In March 2008 I took out my last set of braids and I haven't worn braids since. Ive really learned to love my hair over the past year and a half.

  • AMEN!!!!

  • Absolutely LOVE this video!

  • your hairstyles are sooo gorgeous. you are such an inspiration!

  • I absolutely just love your videos from the natural hair to weight loss. You truly give so much inspiration and I am glad I found you videos also I'm thinkin about going natural since I haven't permed my hair since about march or april so I'm gonna keep trying to avoid getting my hair relaxed.

  • Beautiful!!. Thanks for sharing.

  • The styles at the end of this video are gorgeous. Your hair is sooo long, you have the gift of PATIENCE lol. I especially like the one of you in the orange shirt w/the 2 [I guess] french braids I would have liked to see a full front view...maybe I can try that though my hair isn't as long.

  • i have those earrings in like 3 different colors! got em for a dollar at the hair store lol :)

  • Off subject...Iam speechless Our hair is sooo beautiiiful, forget all the nonsense.. that seed of self hate planted in us about good hair. If this is not the epitome of good hair I don't know what is. Good Hair is what we allow to shine as we are doing here on the world of Natural Youtube Beauties. Kudos...;) to us all for excepting this light. About the styles girl, Do you have the time? all those styles are beautiful imagine what we all can do from a little inspiration.

  • "....when actually it was just me being me." I love that and have had the same experience.
