bigtahz77, would you rather they sound like rap? I love love love them because they are new with something else happening, I identify with their sound, I can't get technical like you, I just get to grooving with them, glad they are on the scene. Yeah! The Honeybear Horns are the SHIT!!!

They do not have the STAX sound "nailed down". They have the talent, but the sound is way over produced. Compare The Memphis Horns to this sound.... The track just lacks the grit of the OG McLemore Ave. studio recordings.... The only label who has come close to the "STAX Sound" has been Dap-Tone and they haven't even hit the mark yet.

Don't get me wrong, this is damn good music and very well recorded, it just sounds like a new record, not a 50 year old one.
