If that Jermaine O'neal trade had been accepted, it would've obliterated the Lakers franchise. Probably wouldn't have even sniffed another championship for a couple decades.
@SrM90 I mean just think about it. Boston would have won 2 championships and We would still have Kwame Brown playing center and Smush Parker playing PG *shudders*.
@willieg54 yea the spurs have a great scouting department but they have to there a small market.. The Lakers can just go sign great players but even then the Lakers drafting hasn't been that bad..
@BREQvids Indeed. They, as a franchise, are just out and out durable and were at least competitive for a championship decade after decade from the inception of the league until now. Well said.

Ppl hate on LBJ's for going to South beach but they don't say shit about Kobe when he bitches n complains about getting better players or else he's going to leave LA.
@kali4nialorboy Is that y Shaq was the finals mvp for Kobe's 1st three when he carried him to the finals? Then he gets help from 3 7 footers to win another 2. Til this day LBJ's has never had a good center on his team n til this day Kobe has never won a championship without a center. LJB's carried the sorry ass Cavs to the finals for the 1st time in franchise history when he was just 22 yrs old.
when he did this rape is when they should of traded him bottom line because not to many teams will want him and that my friend is the bottom line..........
kinda ironic that the highlight reel of kobe showed pau gasol in a grizzlies uniform and the guy was also talking about adding another superstar to help kobe
Its Weird How All Of The Highlights In The Beginning Are Against The Grizzlies And Who Did The Lakers Go Out And Get.. Pau Gasol Who Played For Who... Oh Yeah, The Grizzliess
You got to remember He was gonna get traded to Chicago. Who did Chicago have at the time? Starters...D. Gooden solid player, L. Deng, good player,B. Gordon good player,K. Hinrich pretty good, old B. Wallace, ok at that time. So he wasn't going to a team full of All-Stars or Superstars if he would of ended up being traded.
lol do yall hear what they saying kobe wanted a another superstar he wanted to be traded look how quickly we forget we act like what lebron did was some new thing didnt shaq leave orlando back in the day to go to the lakers...smh
@rayshuttlesworth .......and don't get me started on the 2005 title that the Spurs won vs. the same Pistons team that blasted LA in 5 the year before, so although I'm having fun destroying you, and respecting you at the same time........I have to get back to work, but we'll get back to this later, GOD willing. I'm having fun, are you?
@rayshuttlesworth Did you just bring up that player that was at Gonzaga, and that red haired guy that has been with like 4 teams in 5 years? I can't even speak their names. I know that Tim is the best PF ever, and I've never heard anyone call Kobe the best SG of all-time. The greatest player of this era is and will always be Tim Theodore Duncan. LA played a Nets team, and an Orlando team that beat themselves in 1 of the 1st 2 games. They played the Pacers in '00. Your point would be?
@rayshuttlesworth Let's try this 1 more time.......Duncan had good to very good players around him, but he won with big men like Nesterovic, Elson, and Mohammed. Kobe has done NOTHING without an All-Star big man. He won 3 with Shaq, and 2 with Gasol. In the words of Stephen A. Smith (what did he win without 'em?) The defense rests!
@rayshuttlesworth You're seeing what you want to see, and hearing what you want to hear. In '03, Manu and Parker were not stars.....good players, but not stars, and in '05, they were much better. Kobe needs an All-Star C with him, and you know it. Stats and facts don't lie, but you're right, and I'll give you the point that it does take a team to win a title. My point is that Kobe can do nothing without another big man that is considered top 5 at his position.
@rayshuttlesworth So you have nothing left, other than personal insults? Yeah, shows how much you know about basketball. Duncan was a leader of a team, unlike kobe, so that's how I base my opinion, unlike Kobe, who NEEDS an All-Star big man to do anything legit, and the facts back me up dude, so you LOSE again!
@rayshuttlesworth So you're telling me that you'd build a franchise around Shaq, who has been with 5 different teams, or around Kobe, who did nothing without Shaq, or Gasol except get put out in the 1st round? Duncan, who is considered by many as the greatest PF of all-time, is 2nd or 3rd in your eyes, behind Kobe and Shaq? Yeah.......this conversation is over, Spurs fan or not. Anyone with common sense, and with any basketball knowledge disagrees with you dude (except Lakers fans)
@rayshuttlesworth He's a warrior, and yes he's a great player, but I'm not going to say he's a 1st, or 2nd ballot hall of famer. I'm a huge Spurs fan, just so you know, but I am just not sure if Manu will make the hall anytime soon. I hope he makes it 1 day, and I actually think he'll make it, but you make it sound like he's just that dude for the Spurs, and he isn't. A healthy Manu would have produced different results in the playoffs this year, so I agree with you on his impact.
@rayshuttlesworth I never said Manu wouldn't make the Hall......I asked if you think he'd make it, because I do love him, but the criteria is much different now, and I do know he's not a 1st or 2nd ballot HOF. Rings don't make 1 great, and being great isn't necessarily equated to rings. Horry has 7 rings, and Adam Morrison has 2, so that is 9 more than Stockton, Ewing, Barkley, and Malone combined. I don't look stupid at all
@rayshuttlesworth I never said Manu wouldn't make the Hall......I asked if you think he'd make it, because I do love him, but the criteria is much different now, and I do know he's not a 1st or 2nd ballot HOF. Rings don't make 1 great, and being great isn't necessarily equated to rings. Horry has 7 rings, and Adam Morrison has 2, so that is 9 more than Stockton, Ewing, Barkley, and Malone combined.
@rayshuttlesworth ok who are you again? So you believe Parker and Ginobili are making the hall? 1st ballot, or later on? O'Neal, Payton, and Malone are 1st ballot guys, and Gasol is no worse than 3rd ballot. I love my Spurs, but I can't say that I'm confident that Manu will make the Hall, but Tony may make it. David gave Tim the 4 last years of his career and that was great, but Tim is a real leader, unlike Kobe. Change your name too ray, because you're not Ray Allen, and this isn't a movie.
@rayshuttlesworth So Kobe had NO talent around him? This year the Lakers have a $91 million payroll, the highest in the league, and probably of all-time, so what are you even talking about? Shaq got him 3 rings, and yes.....Duncan has talent around him, but he never played with 3 other future HOF's at 1 time.
I didn't say he wasn't a top 5 SG, I did say he wasn't a top 5 player ever, because HE'S NOT! Duncan over Kobe in their prime easily. Shaq and LeBron more valuable than Duncan???? yeah, ok
@rayshuttlesworth 5th best SG, maybe. Duncan is the best player of this era, hands down. Kobe never led a team to anything......Shaq got him 3 rings, and Gasol got him 2......the guy is a great player, but he's not even a player that I'd build a team around over Tim Duncan, when they were both in their prime.
@rayshuttlesworth ur a dumbass. Kobe is the greatest ever. He jus as good as Jordan and 2-times younger than Jordan was wen he had those stats. Lakers ain't shit w/o Kobe. Wen he retires, it's goin to be the worst day in NBA history
@joe625 I know, right? Granted, Jermaine O'Neal suffered less injuries and still a potential All Star in 2007. He would've been worth either Odom or Bynum but not both.
@Dunkmaster3333 81 vs. the Raptors, lol. 35 ppg.......when you're taking 30+ shots, that stat is skewed, and when Wilt averages 50 a game, 35 looks like 30 pts. compared to 17 ppg. Kobe is the best Bryant to ever play in the NBA, but as far as the best player.......don't be a prisoner of the moment.
Phil won 2 as a starting PF for the New York Knicks. Those are still 2 rings. Before Phil came to Chicago Jordan was averaging 33 points per game but getting his ass busted by the Pistons. Before Phil came to L.A. Kobe was getting his ass handed by the Jazz and the Spurs. What happened the first season Phil became head coach for both team: (fill in the blank). Please don't be offensive. There is something called basketball history. U should learn it.

what the fuck? jermaine oneal for odom and bynum?....
joe625 10 months ago 50
@joe625 at that time jermain oneal was one of the best PF in the league god i hate people that lack common sense
vcownzraptors 9 months ago
@joe625 I know, right? Granted, Jermaine O'Neal suffered less injuries and still a potential All Star in 2007. He would've been worth either Odom or Bynum but not both.

@joe625 glad that didnt went down huh lol
MrAlvin714 6 months ago
@joe625 Jermaine Oneal was an allstar and he was only 29 back then
L3g3ndkill4 6 months ago
@joe625 only way that makes sense is because they get rid of oneal next year and frees 22 million for a dwight

why would you trade kobe? this was after he averaged 35 ppg, and got 81 points right? kobe is the best ever
Dunkmaster3333 10 months ago
@Dunkmaster3333 81 vs. the Raptors, lol. 35 ppg.......when you're taking 30+ shots, that stat is skewed, and when Wilt averages 50 a game, 35 looks like 30 pts. compared to 17 ppg. Kobe is the best Bryant to ever play in the NBA, but as far as the best player.......don't be a prisoner of the moment.
jejesdad 9 months ago
kobe should be traded for the whole Cav's roster.... and cheerleaders.

@unioncity Phil win 2 without Kobe and Jordan?? are you kidding me?? are you on drugs??
research something, moron, before you comment.. oh my god.. you are a dumb ass..
do you know how many championship ring Phil has?? 11 (as in eleven)
6 with Jordan..
5 with Kobe..
where the hell did you get those 2(two) without Kobe and Jordan..
FUCK YOU!! Bird Brain!!
o3o791 11 months ago
@o3o791

@unioncity oh , that is when he was a player, numb nuts..
