May I also add Elland Road as another example. Cameras nicely setup inside the John Charles's stand to show the massive East Stand on Live coverages. Swapping to the opposite side would look ugly.
Agree with pardi & mramo. In hindsight, NUFC are back, and competing for Euro places. NUFC are slowly receiving exposure again to worldwide audiences and what better way (marketing technique) to tricks viewing audiences showing matches appeared to be played at a 70,000 seater stadium, rather than a hypothetical 20,000 stadium on TV. They tried same with Stamford Bridge and current setup suits viewing far better than showing the ugly 3 tier stand.
Im sure with Ashley's £35 millions of pounds that there can be heavy exceptions made? Nothing is impossible. Cables & electrical equipment can easily be relocated, temporary rooms can be created/assigned. Im sure its not that much of a mission, or inconvenience on implementing such a simple task. Ashley & management clearly have no vision of their club. The difference between changing cameras on the opposite side can be huge.
0:14 - I noticed when you watch games on TV, the current TV camera setup captures the East Stand which gives all viewers the impression the match is being played at a Smaller stadium. The cameras should all relocate to the East Stand! The idea of watching Live TV games with a camera shot of the Milburn Stand (behind) would be amazing for TV. Why isnt this done? Is it Ashley who approves this, or do the broadcasters get the say?
@mramo its because there is a special area for the cameras back there, it would be difficult to film from the other side as there is no room for the people filming the match to set up their equipment
@joe89nufc Im sure with Ashley's £35 millions of pounds that there can be heavy exceptations mad? Nothing is impossible. Cables & electrical equipment can easily be relocated, temporary rooms can be created/assigned. Im sure its not that much of a mission, or inconvenience that they can implementat such a simple task. Ashley & management clearly have no vision of their club. I am certain that cameras & equipment can be relocated.
@joe89nufc youre missing the point lad. I never stated it costs £35m to relocate camera equipment. The smallest fraction of that money (e.g. £20-30k) would be money well spent on making the appearance of St James Park on TV more attractive. E.g. When you sell a house the first photo you take is the picture of the house, not the back garden! Also where have you obtained your sources about the difficulty of filming on the other side due to lack of space?
@joe89nufc Yes true. But it wouldnt cost a huge amount of money, no? Im sure it would cost next to nothing. Personally, if NUFC need exposure to the world audiences and let everyone see the beauty of the Milburn Stand as the primary home for TV setup, it would work well for TV, including potential players who might sign for Newcastle in the future (especially for stars that are aware of the club, but have never seen the stadium before).
There's plans for it to increase to 60,000 with expansion planned for the Gallowgate end. Any further expansion after this could prove to be tricky due to listed buildings occupying land adjacent to the smaller East Stand.
@OWENJ2008 If there is money, the club can also buy that buildings a make all stands even, and i think it will be the biggest a most beutiful stadium in England.

@mramo well because to film from that end they would have to take out some of the seats of the paddock to accommodate the cameras and gear
