  • No offense - but the cheesiness of the product would of been a big clue before plugging into my mobo if I were a "noob".

That, or I would pretend noob and do it anyway - just so I could bitch newegg into giving me a one up on my mobo. ;)

  • It's the enthusiast edition; you have to carve out the pins yourself.

  • did,'t you also notice that there's nothing on the seal, and what's supposed to be printed on the seal is printed on the box!!!

  • so were you trying to jam a corner of the damn thing into your mobo?

im just curious cause im thinking you could be studied to further man kinds understanding of monkeys.

  • wat kind of temps did u get when u put this into ur mobo? 500 C? did u melt it? was it prime95 stable?

    LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you broke your mobo trying to install this obviously fake CPU you are a profound idiot.

  • Your not using the right socket bro, I have this exact cpu and it overclocks to about 4.5 ghz with the stock cooler.

  • hey FUCKTARD!!!!! They sent an email to everyone who purchased the same thing saying ther was a mistake. You are a lying piece of shit for not putting in the whole story, and lying about how what you bought broke your mother board.

  • @Hippiegeeks

hey FUCKTARD, they didn't send those emails for a few days after when people who received the fake ones rang them to complain.

  • @denis1110 yes, they did.

  • @Hippiegeeks hey fucktard, you must be the one selling the fake cpus. maybe i should call the cops to have chat with you.

  • If you were smart enough to realize this stuff AS you took it out of the box, why did you then proceed to put it in your computer? Obviously it ain't gonna do nuthin without any pins to recieve data... are you high?

  • If you damaged your PC with this, you can get a settlement for a new mobo.

  • It was a honest mistake from newegg and i believe they are replacing your counterfeit cpu with a legit one.

LOL why would you place it on your mother board? Well maybe you can complain to newegg and newegg might take liability for your motherboard and at the same time assume you are a tard for putting it in your motherboard....besides you can always say i bought a cpu and used it.. HAHA best of luck to you and im sure Newegg is very customer oriented.

  • @wtong89 Yeah, newegg got these from a supplier...they obviously don't look really closely at every single package and don't open all the boxes (imagine the uproar if everyone was buying new stuff that had an opened box)...it's not their fault and they've done all the right things in fixing this.

This guy is a moron for even considering putting this in a board.

  • Awesome. You're a tard for putting that anywhere near your motherboard.

  • You put this in your motherboard, are you dumb?

  • Socket 0

  • @o0Alea0o lol

  • @o0Alea0o lol, its even faster than the i7 980

  • You should pay for the Mobo. It is your idiotic self that tried to stick that in your motherboard.

  • HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAA putting this on your motherboard HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLLLLOLL

"Oh uhm, lets try this on the motherboard maybe the stickerfan will start to spin and maybe the chunk of metal works as a intel i7 or even better!" hahhaahahahahahah your the biggest idiot i've seen

  • I found it funny that they actually bothered to put in a fake instruction manual and a fake processor. If you gonna scam someone, why not just scam them all the way?

  • lesson: buy amd next time. easy.

  • @jimday666 lol no... amd sucks, they problerly made this and sent it to, just cause intel is sooo much better than amd :)

  • @lol4lol10 ooooook, nice story bro

  • @lol4lol10 You fail kid. Do a little research in the extent of chipset lifetime spans and you'll notice that AMD far out-weighs that of Intel. Not to say that either one is any better than the other but come-on, AMD in the long run is far superior for gamers.

  • @jimday666 but, amd processors aren't as powerful as intel, but, they are different price ranges as well.

  • So tell me did you contact newegg? And what did they say about this? Could just be someone cleverly stealing mail or something. Please let me know, I shop at newegg all the time for my stuff.

  • Newegg got a fake shipment from a supplier and sent many of the these to many different customers. This is no way was neweggs fault and they replaced all of the customers fake i7s. How it ruined this guys mobo I have no idea.

  • I Laughed Out Loud seeing this video Dude u have been RIPPED-OFF!!

  • Did you follow the instructions in the manual?

  • please this guy must be joking... it looks like hes trying to get his money back after making some fke crap and making a sticker.... at the most try harder and make it a better fake... i know my brother thats 10 can do somthing just like that or better lol XD

  • @bganightfire Or u might not even have a brother.. u might not even have a house, u live on a street with no tv and obviously u somehow hijacked someones pc to go on here, watch news and prosper dic* face ;)

  • @bganightfire your brother is fake too

  • looks like a infamous NewEgg open box item LOL

  • @BigFatLoserDude are u saying i shouldnt buy open box from newegg?

  • LMFAO man your dumb..

  • It ruined the MB? LMFAOOOOOO You put in in?! LOLL

  • From what I gather, their was about 300 of these fake units floating around.

Has anyone sent the plastic piece in to the RCMP to have them check for any drug traces to it or in the plastic itself?

Really, 300 units is small potatoes in the crime business for this day and age. A lot of work went into it for such a small return (as just being fake).

    Just a thought.

  • I think that Gregory house may have intercepted your delivery as part of an elaborate practical joke. I suggest that you retort the joke with something equally clever, to the great amusement of us, the humble viewers.

  • Lol, how did you put that in the MB?

  • @EvolutionSpider He either forced it in or used electical tape... or both. I would have said super glue but he probably ate all the super glue before he could glue it in.

  • IT'S JUST A HUGE CHUNK OF PLASTIC!

    lol

  • looks like someone got scammed. you like popsicles?

  • You stuck a fake hunk of metal into your motherboard socket and ruined your MB?

Leave the system building to someone competent.

  • You got faked! Good thing i didn't buy mine from newegg

  • haha owned

  • Maybe they'll be collectibles in a few years time.

  • At least you got a nice piece of decoration, both your 'processor' and your FakeBurned'MOBO.

And they won't take responsibility for the second. Fail.

  • REALLY??? You actually put that in your motherboard? "O hey, this thing came with a plastic heatsink and the processor is just a big piece of metal. I know! i'll put it in and see what happens!" -_-

  • @ironman31 he's squizing money from the shop: pay me back a new mobo as well, you broke it.

  • This is what happens when you go to China !!!

  • They obviously should give you a new cpu, but the motherboard is your fault.

  • So...How did you manage to damage your motherboard. Its not like your going to install a hunk of metal cooled by plastic and fire it up.

  • maybe he did lol

  • I reckon one of the workers stole them and replaced with fakes so it will take a while to be discovered. Theres no way a big distribution company would do it.

  • All thats BS. the question is HOW and WHERE did ipex get fake fucking CPU's at and why arent they being roasted for it yet lol.

  • Newegg is still the best computer part vendor available right now. Just because they have one little mishap like this doesn't mean you should be scared to buy from them.

Newegg is replacing the CPU's of those affected. A lesser company would ignore the problem and not do anything about it.

  • THAT'S A COLLECTOR'S ITEM!

  • supposedly there were 300 of these and they have now been pulled. :) I'd be pretty pissed though.

  • full of crap if you say you put that into a mobo and ruined it. you know it's not real, no way you tossed that into the mobo. nice try though getting more from newegg, a vendor i've had horrible experiences with.

  • It is a fake CPU and it is not newegg's fault but one of its venders, IPEX was supplying newegg with face chips. After newegg caught wind of the situation, newegg canned IPEX's ass. Newegg has great customer support and will replace that fake chip for a real one. Really shitty situation but at least you are not totally screwed. Just request an RMA and send it for replacement.

  • Fake CPU ruining the motherboard? Wait wait, let me get this straight.

You seriously put an obviously fake CPU into your motherboard?

    Really?

  • Newegg knows, and is sending replacements. How does a fake cpu ruin your motherboard though.

  • @Digitalstorm007 gets shit in your socket and blocks the conecters

  • @steavedaver That is what he gets for being a dumb azz and trying to use a piece of metal as a processor.

  • haha lol ya like duh look at the botem of the thing to make shur!

  • @steavedaver Yup, and he could have look at the fan and realized, wtf...

  • the cake is a lie

  • The i7 is a lie.

  • @vycka1234 LOL nice one

  • Good over clocking??

  • Why oh why would you even stick it into your computer in the first place if you suspected for even a moment that it wasn't legit, you stupid douche?

  • Since your nickname is "PublicStunt", and this is the only video you've posted - I wonder if you're at the heart of this fake chip scam, your excuse your fake chip ruined your motherboard is suspect... As this may be a rise to get attention. And who would go to all the trouble of creating packages, die casting fake cpus out of lead, further casting hunks of plastic into fans, who would go to all this trouble? There must be some investment in the lead and the printing materials.

  • @Aliendear

It's not fake. BBC put out a story about this.

  • @bigun89, the fake processor is not fake?

  • @Aliendear

The "processor" in the video is a hunk of aluminum... nothing more. But new egg really did ship those intending them to be real processors.

  • Dummass, if he really wanted attention he would reveal his REAL name, and besides, this was a legit scam (I know, it's a bit of an oxymoron)

  • @diamonddavefan, your comment has no merit at all. you're suspect too.

  • @Aliendear Not sure, but I got one of these bitches too. Already sent it back for a refund and purchased a 930 though.

  • You might want to sort out your camera focus - your video is so blurred it is impossible to see what you are talking about and you keep moving things around so quickly and most of the time you have the camera pointing at the floor or the wall.

  • @brookheather Watch my video, you can see everything from this package very clear.

  • how did you break ur mobo with this? are you that retarded that you assume its real and try to put it in? fucking lol

    fail

  • "this fake one ruined the MB"

Are you serious? No way you're that stupid.

  • Oh!!! Korea quality !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • toyota quantity

  • As some of you guys seem to be unaware... One of neweggs distributors was indeed selling fake i7's it's on all the news sites. About 200 of them were sold

  • Good thing they're terminating service with the counterfeit supplier :D

  • "hopefully they'll send another CPU and a MB, as this fake one ruined the MB."

lol stop lying you cheap whore!! how can you damage you mobo? it wont even start you dumbass....

  • @xStalkerxx LMAO!!!! If someone honestly trys to install one of these fake i7's i would laugh so hard! Like cmon, from what i've seen, they are REALLLY noticeably fake and if you cant tell that, then you shouldn't be trying to install one yourself!

  • yea lol aahaahhahaaha LMAO xD this damaged my mobo LOL ahahahaahahaha

  • OMG u dumbass!! these are high tech military CPU unseen by now!!

this can run all by itself Crysis in full maxed settings with full 60FPS!!!

    ROFLMAO

  • My friend got the same thing from a seller on Ebay Germany. Somebody put a lot of efford in to fake these and possibly making a lot of money right now.

  • Made in china or korea??

  • from Japan

  • No, they dont have such an idea, ur silly haha:)

  • ´dude dont tell people you actualy tried it, you just showing the world what a fucking retard you are!!!!

  • how the fuck are you and shit load of other fucking retards coming to the conclusion that just because he bought it, and is showing it, that he actually used it?

he bought it because it looks like a real processor in the pictures, and he got it from Newegg, a trusted site.

you would have done the same fucking thing.

  • Quote the video description -"Contacting newegg customer service - hopefully they'll send another CPU and a MB, as this fake one ruined the MB."

    now we got 2 retards!!!

  • lol, he could have been just saying that to be facetious.

I honestly don't believe he ACTUALLY used it, like come on, look at the fan, it's a sticker, when you take your shit out of the box, you don't do it blindly, you look at everything you got in there.

you would notice something was not right as soon as you look at the fan.

  • Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

    Albert Einstein

  • the ending was missing , expect its just a hunk of metal , fuckers :P

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA

  • You cant really blame newegg for this, its the suppliers fault, not the retailers.

  • im with a lot of other people, why in the hell, would you even attempt to put that painfully obvious fake into a motherboard?

not only is the CPU a clear fake, but the fan and manual should have given you an instant clue to the fact that the whole thing was a fake?

im not sure you should be building your own PC, buy a pre-built system and let somebody else build, and repair it.

  • Why in the FUCK would you actually try to install that in a motherboard? Are you really that fucking stupid, did you not notice there was no pinout, or are you just trying to scam Newegg in return for a replacement mobo?

  • How could you install it if there wasn't pins?

Why you tried to install a fake cpu with a fake fan on your motherboard? :D

I hope they gave you the real cpu and mb :D

  • Newegg is a resupplier, dont shoot the middle man, they got taken by one of their suppliers. If you wonder how this all happened - the warehouse is all electronic, very few people (compared to a normal warehouse) even touch the items in question and those would have been stored in the parts cage (high value item). Even fewer people are permitted in the parts cage. Spelling errors are nothing uncommon... Deal 4-5 digits with them/yr . They will handle it - and prob add an extra QC guy.

  • This Intel processor can be burned for the dead people. So they can use it in the heaven or hell.

  • hahahahhahahaah very good processor i think this coller not much good u need other hahahahhahahahahaahahhhahahha!

  • amazing!! LOL

  • @GetouttAmybed7382

    oh god fap fap fap

  • Deeim yo...one of them there fake CPUs.

  • LOL... you saw the shit packaging and fan and the obvious fake CPU...

and you put it on your Motherboard? LMAO...!

i'm with yankee2110 on this. CPU only... no MB replacement cos that damage is negligence on your part. not theirs.

  • I hope they did not send you a new MB. Seriously, you are an idiot.

  • lol I hope you're joking about the motherboard. Why would you put that piece of garbage in it?

  • wow wow wow.. you said that cpu ruined your mb?... how did you get to think that cpu could work..!

  • HAHAHAHHA this had to suck for sure....good thing Newegg is correcting the mistake :P

Sorry it happened to you but damn this will make a funny story later.

  • clear spelling mistakes? it's all blurry. great camera work.

  • Its an obvious BS lie that he ruined his motherboard but thats not the sad part of the story. The fact is if he didn't lie all he would would have got is the CPU he ordered and an apology, with who knows what delay after when it was supposed to turn up. At least if he lies he gets a new mobo to put on ebay for his troubles. I'm with publicstunt on this.

  • TDP 0W!!HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

  • did u put the cpu in ur MB????loooool

i remember some pics and in the box say

    "Sochet: 1366 " (xDDDDDD)

have u a MB with Sochet 1366? looool

    sorry for my english

  • Newegg did trick me before, I paid rush shippin yet item come late.

What is worst some item is missing the original box and I need the box for rebate, fuking newegg.

  • To nie jest podróbka, tylko procesor nowej generacji... ;)

  • You should read the manual before installing the CPU

  • LOL! +1 :)

  • The family brain cell wasn't with you when you tried to install this in your motherboard then?

I do wonder about some people....

  • haha, brutal :)

  • Comment removed

  • @geonerd:

Actually it's technically a scam off a scam, which would make you less intelligent than the "stupidest" goober on the planet.

  • lol...sucks that this happened to some people. Should've gone i7 930. :-)

  • One more thing: you installed that into your mobo? ...epic fail. Obviously you need to learn to check out your parts before installing them....lesson learned....I hope.

  • One of our Members bought 5 of them and has the same issue.

    tribalwar(dot)com/forums/showthread(dot)php?t=606966

  • Not saying whether or not this guy actually installed the MB or not but to the people laughing about the lack of pins... Intel cpus no longer have actual "pins" but rather "contacts". Here is a picture of how modern Intel cpus look: flickr(dot)com/photos/davidfretz/3329749970/

  • Send you a new MoBo? Are you dumb? You didn't even try using it cause you couldn't. You're just trying to get another free MoBo. Fail.

  • mbudden0, how could he come out ahead in this? He'd have to send back the motherboard before he got the replacement. He'd be paying his own shipping charges.

  • "Contacting newegg customer service - hopefully they'll send another CPU and a MB, as this fake one ruined the MB. "

You actually tried to plug this in given how the whole thing looks so bad ?

    Now who's the moron I wonder ?

  • startide, if you just took the processor out of the box and placed it into the socket without looking at the contact side you might not notice that it's a fake.

  • Maybe, but that's more than unlikely obviously ;)

  • AND NOW EBAY IS LAUGHING!

  • Yeah, they weren't fake; they simply use the new Intel wireless optical bus which Intel is trademarking as the "SeeMOS" interface, and super-ultra-Wattless low- power transistors that reduce carbon emissions, which they are trademarking as "SeeOhToo" architecture. It goes with the new jingle and advertising campaign which replaces the current "Intel Inside" logo with "Nothing Inside". The fake fan is for power gamers who have transparent cases and want to keep up appearances.

  • intel said its fake newegg sais its a demo box from intel...

shit happenes, they will send u a new one ;)

  • @z1pfL intel also said there's no such thing as demo. ;))

  • Only 300 pieces of rare items ;)

  • haha

  • 300 out of the 2000 cpu's recieved in that day we're fake, the problem's fixed now.

  • yes china

  • Comment removed

  • lol holy shit dude that sux. I feel bad but i lol'd when you said the box had spelling errors.

  • The CPU has no pins, how would he have installed it on his MB? Maybe his CPU runs on hopes and dreams.

  • Intel cpus haven't had pins for quite some time now.

  • thumbs up, sir

  • own3d...

  • LOL

  • that really sucks and all but why did you even try ti on the mobo if it had no pins?

  • yay for newegg

  • Wow high five to whoever is doing quality control checks.

  • This is in the news. It happened. Newegg acknowledges it happened to some hundreds of people and is replacing all the fake merchandise. It looks as though the original distributor made the mother of all errors or basically they got robbed somewhere in shipping, probably overseas. It's interesting that the props that were shipped would look more or less right when weighed or x-rayed. Sounds like organized crime to me. Bust the container, replace the product with fakes and send it on its way.

  • XshaunixX, you're retarded

  • @XshaunixX i like your username too, is it supposed to be fucking legible?

  • its true. read the news.

  • XshaunixX, you're retarted

  • To all those who called me retarded, think about it for a second. If you knew something was fake, would you even install it?

  • What does that have to do with anything?? That isn't even what this is about. It's not like he purposely tried to buy a fake cpu and install it.....

  • I've never had a problem with newegg, this is truly an interesting incident. Hope you get refunded or get the real thing.

  • i hope you'll get your real cpu soon! FOR FREE!

  • is this a prank or wat?!??!!?

  • Sorry, but I refuse to believe you tried using this on your MB, not sure if I am just being an arse and thinking bad of you, but it seems like your playing a dirty game here, STATING you wrecked your MB to get a new one, that leaves you with 2 =D Who in the right mind would use a CPU with no pins and just an aluminium plate, nice way to short circuit your MB. That is if you switched it on...

  • that is EXACTLY what im thinking too

how stupid are you if you tried to use that on your motherboard

  • if he´s lying it would be stupid since he has to send in the broken MB to get a new one. so they would see that it´s still working, so no 2 MBs for him.

maybe he just tried to put the fake CPU on the MB, realised there´s somehting wront with it and is just afraid that it might be broken and doesn´t want to take risks.

  • TESAddict,

It is well and truly possible that he REALLY did wreck it, the fact that me and plenty of other guys here don't want to believe he installed it shows we have a higher expectation from our fellow computer builders. So if he wants people to think of him like an idiot and "yeah, I can suspect that from publicstunt" then sure, your choice =D I still think he tried to play dirty, just can't imagine anyone installing that.
